I liked the movie and will buy it when it eventually comes out on dvd. I would recommend it; however, I would also recommend that you read the book first. The movie was a little fast paced and some things were left out that should/could have been left in to give the viewer a better understanding of the depth and dynamics of Bella and Jacob's relationship as well as other parts from the book that would have been highly entertaining to see ( Bella and Alice stealing the sport car and racing to save Edward and all the interesting/funny dialogue as well as a better understanding of the city and what the festival was all about). Still over all it was a great movie!

If you're a fan of the books, you will appreciate this movie! Only a handful of details and scenes differed from the book and I think they overall did a great job of making it as relevant to the story as they could. The special effects and fight scenes were awesome and it definitely sets the stage for the Eclipse premiere.

So the only people going to see this movie should be ones that read the books and like it for what it is...simple entertainment-sappy love story--some cool effects. I'm a hopeless romantic who likes fantasy and some scifi so that is why it works for me. Otherwise, it is predictable, has a thin plot and has little going for it as far as a dramatic film. I wish it was 3+ hours long though to get more of the book in--selfish desire to just see it played out on the big screen.

New Moon was AWESOME! It was closer to the book, than the first one (Twilight). I understand that not everything can be the same, but still a great flick. Definitely would go watch it again!

While it's admirable that the plot doesn't deviate in any major ways from the book, it was slightly less exciting or intense because there were no surprises-- it may have been better had I not read the book.
Special effects were incredible (phasing of the wolves), and the finer details were consistent with the first movie and made you settle into your seat with a comforting sense of familiarity. Overall, I would recommend -- it was a much better cinematic production than it's Twilight counterpart, probably due to the vastly greater budget. If you can get past a little bit of bad acting (Bella), you should go see it- it's entertaining and the eye candy aims to please.

I was really let down with this one. They didn't capture the book and added so much not in the book and didn't add to the plot or movie. The book had amazing dialogue and it was butchered. Also skipped around so much that where the book gave meaning to things that happened there wasn't enough development on what was going on. . Also, it appears they wanted to play around with the soundtrack and camera angles so it felt like watching an afternoon soap with some of the more intense scenes. I hope that the feedback regarding this movie reaches the writes, producers and directors of this movie so the next sequal in this series can be edited to take away the cheap feel this movie gave. Very disappointed, hope the next will be better.

All I can say is this was a HUGE improvement from Twilight. Chris Weitz did an amazing job with bringing New Moon to life. As all of us know, it is very difficult to take a book and turn it into a movie. There are always things lost. New Moon stayed very true to the book. Sure, there were things changed but that happens in most of these cases. The cast did a much better job acting wise, the makeup was better, and the CGI was awesome! The wolves are great! All this movie did was make me even more excited for Eclipse! Let's hope Breaking Dawn is brought to life as well and Chris Weitz is directing, or at least consulting! I will be seeing this again in theaters!

I really enjoyed this movie! I was not really a big fan of the first film which was dissapointing because I adore the books so. New Moon did it for me! I was excited and enjoying it all!!!!! And Jacob....Oh lord Taylor....He (he is so young) should be ashamed of all that hotness lol. The cast did so well, and not always a fan of Kristen Stewart, she was much better, she was more like Bella this time. Two thumbs and two big toes up! Lol.

I was really impressed with the direction and screenplay this time around. Dialogue wasn't nearly as stilted and dumb as in the first movie. The actors seemed a bit more relaxed in their roles. Rob looked constipated briefly in only a couple scenes and Kstew actually toned down on the hair-touching and lip-biting habit that was so annoying in Twilight. CGI was well done overall. Only wolf I laughed at was the first big one (sam) when he came out of the woods to chase Laurent. That was a bit too clunky. The Italy scenes happened too fast. You really had to have read the book to understand all that went on so quickly but man, that fight scene was awesome. Excited about Eclipse!!

I liked it, the casting was very good, the make up was awesome, they really made the Volturi quite revolting (except for Jane). Alice is a great character and the actress who plays her is really good.

I loved, loved, loved this movie. It was so funny and such a touching story. It stays pretty close to the book or at least I think so. This was even better than the first movie and I can't wait to see the next movie!! There's only one corny part but it's so great otherwise. I saw it twice in the same day and I can't wait to see it again. I just wish we didn't have to wait 4 months for it to come out on dvd. It's torture 1-2 months tops but not 4. This is a must see movie!!!

I recently became a twilight fan and read the first 3 books in 2 weeks. I rented Twilight and fell in love with the characters! New Moon was just as fabulous. I would recommend reading the books first because there is a lot that gets cut out but the movies are still fantastic. I can't wait for eclipse to come out next summer! Great job!

I am a "mom" and a huge fan of the books. I must say I was greatly disappointed in the initial Twilight film (why stray from a great book and why make the entire movie "blue"?) So, I was excited to hear a new director was taking over.
Boy, what a difference! It was not only brighter, but stayed with the book for the most part (slight differences NOT making a difference). Maybe the actors took this movie more serious because (the acting was even better), all the way around, it was a MUCH better movie.

A beautiful love story with lots of action. This movie brings together the best elements of a romance and ties it together with the intrigue, and action making it a winning combination. It is a great movie for the person who loves romance but also wants to see a little action scenes.

First, it was a good movie. I enjoyed it. You can definitely tell the difference between the female director and the male director. The previous director left a lot of the mushy lover's story in it as this director played more for the action side. The effects were awesome. Didn't really stay with the story and he left out too many details that would have helped understand the characters. I still didn't feel the chemistry between Stewart & Pattinson; they look awkward with each other - very stiff . She does have good chemisty with Lautner. It actually feels like they are close friendship - very comfortable. I would recommend to watch in theatre for the effects but story can wait for dvd. As always the books are always better.

I was so disappointed with how choppy and fast this movie moved. If you have not read the book first you might enjoy it, but will not walk away knowing anything. They moved from scene to scene with no story line. What happened to Bella narrating, atleast then you would get some kind of sense of what was going on. They needed to delve in to the story line a little bit more, there was so much very important information left out. I loved the wolves though, they did a great job with them. Aro was perfect! otherwise it left me very worried about the way they will do Eclipse.

I love the story. This movie was really slick...that is why I miss Kathrine Hardwick's vision...everything was shot through Bella's eyes...there where details and nuance that Hardwick would have not left out. The story got cheated a bit. It was entertaining...but it was so slicked up...less romantic.

I was amazed by the quality of acting and special effects in this movie. It is definitely a must see. Much better than the first one, that's for sure. Taylor Lautner's performance was great and I wish Bella would chose him instead of Edward. It also seems like Bella has super powers too. I can't wait for the next one!

I have not read the books but hear the highlights from my 13 year old daughter. I really liked the movie, my daughter loved it, my husband hated it. also the eye candy is great!
My only criticism is the acting of the girl who plays Bella, never once did I see a smile (there were times in the movie she was happy-I don't know if the character is supposed to be constantly anxious or what but it gets old) and her acting is flat. However, the girl who plays Alice is fantastic!
