Followed the book well, but could have had a bit more action. Makeup was not as good as in Twilight! Looked fake. Overall, though, it was a good movie and I'll be seeing it again.

Sparkly vampires. Ugh. Ugh and ugh. The parts without the vampires were decent, there was somewhat of a plot, but as soon as the vampires showed back up, the plot with Victoria and the werewolves was abandoned. This whole series just proves that even writers of bad fanfiction can get published. Wasted two hours of my life.

And middle-aged women there without kids really need to get lives.

I think this one stayed truer to the book then the first one did. I enjoyed it greatly. The hot guys didn't hurt either. My one thing is that the contacts to make them vampires make their eye water so they all look to be crying the whole time, especially Pattinson, he is the saddest vampire in the world. LOL The over 18 crowd was having trouble reigning in the oohs at the underage Lautner. LOL Very good movie though with lots more action, can't wait for Eclipse.

All I have to say is that 'New Moon' blew my expectations out of the water. The directing was phenomenal. I do think everyones acting this time around was much better. And I definitely see the appeal of 'Team Jacob' now, but still am 'Team Edward' all the way. ;)

This movie is fantastic. It corrected all the ills the original Twilight movie had over changing the story. You could sit and read the book as you were watching the movie and find very little different. It is the movie every Twihard wanted to see made. Thank you to everyone who worked on it for following through with Stephenie's vision. This is a must see movie!

I loved this movie more than I did the first one and that is saying something. It was great! The directing was so much better. I was unsure of the switch in directors at first, but I think it paid off for this movie. Great movie for Twihards and everyone else too.

New Moon is a lot like the book. It is beautifully filmed, the acting is much better and the end is as heart-wrenching as the end of the novel. I was worried that Jacob would be... too nice. But by the end of the film he has somehow turned into a gorgeous tough guy. The only thing that only slightly irritated me is that Edward looked pretty constipated the whole film... but the longing for him was still there for Bella. The blank pages (months) were done beautifully with her sitting in a chair and the seasons changing. Biggest surprise... Jessica! Her character wasn't as annoying as I remember her from the books or from the first film. Instead, she is the comic relief in a very emotional film. LOVED IT! I'm going again today.

New Moon was AMAZING!!!!

They did an AMAZING job with this movie. It was so much better then the first one. The first one left out too much from the book, but this one you could keep up with it just like you were reading it. It had some extra laugh's and a couple changes but it did not hinder it in anyway it only added to the excitment. I have read the whole saga several times and I think this movie would make the author Stephenie Meyer very proud. The cast did a wonderful job recreating her characters and bringing them to life. I would recommend this to everyone, it has everything from action to love etc. I think everyone who goes to see it will be glad they did even if you were disappointed in the first one.

Unbelievably bad garbage. Why no Zero star option?

I feel so bad for someone with actual talent like Kristen Stewart to be emroiled in this mess. To say the "acting" is bad is like saying the holocaust was an unfortunate misunderstanding. I fell asleep during the first movie and I seriously contemplated setting my chair on fire so that I could yell "Fire" legally and get out of there during this one. I also implore any woman over the age of 17 to try and contain yourself everytime one of the shirtless guys (which is ~ every 14 seconds) appears on screen to not scream out, "Oh my God, he's so hot!" Actually, I remember my reaction the first time I saw Megan Fox bending over the motorcycle in Transformers 2....so I guess I will let that slide. This is a boatload of feces.

I haven't read the books, my daughter has numerous times, she talked me into taking her to the (midnight) premier of Twilight, I figured I would just sleep til it was over, but I didn't, I loved it. Obviously I couldn't wait for New Moon to come out, so we went to the midnight premier of that one, New Moon was so much better than Twilight. I can't put my finger on what was different or better, but it was. There was a little more comedy, the characters seemed more comfortable and the whole movie flowed much better this time. I did hate the way it ended, not in a bad way, but the movie was so intense and then to just end the way it did, wow! But just makes me want to see the next one that much more.

I AM A HUGE TWILIGHT FAN. I HAVE READ ALL OF THE BOOKS MORE THAN A FEW TIMES. WHEN I FIRST SEEN TWILIGHT THE MOVIE I WAS NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. I THOUGHT TOO MANY DETAILS WERE LEFT OUT AND THINGS WERE CHANGED.BUT NEW MOON IT’S TOTALLY DIFFERENT. THIS MOVIE ROCKED! THE NEW DIRECTOR DID SUCH A GREAT JOB WITH THE DETAILS & STAYING TRUE TO THE BOOK. I FELT LIKEI WAS ACTUALLY READING THE BOOK. THE IMPORTANT PARTS FROM THE BOOK WERE ALL THERE, AND EVEN THOUGH THEIR WERE A FEW CHANGES, THEY WERE ALL GOOD. IT ALLOWED FOR A FEW LAUGHS. THE ONLY THING THAT DISAPOINTED ME WAS THE ENDING.... I DIDNT LIKE HOW IT LEFT YOU HANGING... BUT I GUESS THAT WILL JUST KEEP ALL OF US WONDERING AND TALKING ABOUT IT UNTIL JUNE

After only 5 minutes of watching this movie my girlfriend fell asleep and then 30 minutes later she asked me to take her home. She told me that the movie is too boring and she was grossed out by the decapitation scene. I was hoping that this movie would put her in the mood because of its romantic theme. Now she doesn't want me to pick out any movies anymore.The producers of this movie should give me my money back.

Don't Expect it to Be Just Like the Book

I really enjoyed this movie, and I totally expected to hate it. I love the books and had a real hard time with the previews, because it was obvious that it didn't line up with the book. But, I went to see it anyway and I'm glad I did. It was an excellent movie. They added some things to make some of the scenes more dramatic and - of course - cut some things out and blended other things together to make the movie flow. I actually thought this movie was closer to the book than the first. It did not disappoint. The acting was excellent and the special effects were really good (they did a good job with the wolves!). I would have loved for the movie to be longer, but you can't have everything. :)

Its always a huge thing for me to see movies that originated from books. I like to compare. This was the first time ever that the movie and book were so incredibly close. I absolutely loved it. There are some differences, reason being that its made for screen, but other than that it was amazing! Go and watch it! You might be a little disappointed by the acting but the story line will keep you engaged!

This movie was amazing... the director was so much better than the twilight director... the action was impeccable and stunning... if your an avid book reader it followed the book really well leaving out tidbits here and there and switching around a couple spots but otherwise perfectly... the acting was much better than the first movie, Taylor Lautner still could be better but he was really hott but Kristen got much better and Dakota fanning was only in the movie for like 15 min but was amazing

Great Improvement!

The movie was amazing for fans of the book, good for non-fans and far better than 'Twilight' in every way. The acting was good, the characters were believable and the dialogue did not seem forced. The movie looked great, the sets, the make-up, the cinematography and the special effects; though there were a few flaws with the CGI. The pacing was probably slow for non-fans but not bad overall. The story stayed true to the source material. There was some humor; Twilight was unintentionally funny (for all the wrong reasons). There was enough Edward to not miss R.P. but not enough to take away from his absence in the book. Eye candy = win!

I think this movie is best suited for women, but is not a total snooze-fest for guys.

AS DAZZLING AS TWILIGHT

The new director must have felt enormous pressure to produce New Moon as "good" as the previous director of Twilight.

The new director must have read the Twilight series and watched the movie Twilight over and over and over to get focused, to capture the essence of Stephenie Meyer's main characters and the new characters.

The new director not only passed the test and did a "good" job…he may have just actually done a "better" job, no offense to the first director of Twilight who “set the stage”. You can tell the actors felt more comfortable in their characters, which helped to continue this pop culture phenomenon.

The new director did not let the Twilight fanpire's down...and I'm one of them!

The story line just kept dragging and dragging throughout the whole movie, and there were so many random parts which didn't make any sense, especially when Jacob Black arrives on the screen and feels the need to take off all his clothing....

I was AMAZED at how closely this film followed the book. Most of the dialog was word for word.Fantastic! I wish more screenwriters were able to do what Melissa Rosenberg did here.The story is already great, already beloved by millions, so why mess with it? Do they really think they can come in so late in the game and IMPROVE a story that has sold millions of copies?! What egos! Some changes are necessary and unavoidable, but with books like these, the fewer changes, the better. Summit found a great combination of cast, writers, and director for New Moon. Maybe we'll see that combination work together again for Breaking Dawn. I only recommended Twilight for people who had read the book, but anyone can enjoy New Moon.
