Summit did it again...they hit it out of the ballpark! This movie sparkles! Entertaining from beginning to end. They stayed true to the book...again. Looking forward to the final movie Breaking Dawn which they are splitting into two movies.
The new director must have felt enormous pressure to produce New Moon as "good" as the previous director of Twilight.
The new director must have read the Twilight series and watched the movie Twilight over and over and over to get focused, to capture the essence of Stephenie Meyer's main characters and the new characters.
The new director not only passed the test and did a "good" job…he may have just actually done a "better" job, no offense to the first director of Twilight who “set the stage”. You can tell the actors felt more comfortable in their characters, which helped to continue this pop culture phenomenon.
The new director did not let the Twilight fanpire's down...and I'm one of them!
My 12-year old daughter and I were on the edge of our seats. The movie is a tad over 2 hours long but we never felt like it was long at all because it was so actioned packed. My kid never saw a Star Trek show although I grew up with them...she loved the movie as I helped her understand the traditional emotional drama amongst the main characters. Their relationships stayed true to form. The cameo with Leonard Nimoy was a classic. It gave the film that authentic Star Trek touch. I hope they make another film.
I'm at a loss for words. It was so good. See the movie...it say's it all. An amazing true story. Hero's in the mist of such a tragic, horrible time in history, and not so long ago. It's amazing that the most intelligent species on this earth can be so cruel to each other, for what? It's amazing what a human can do - the will and determination to not only struggle to survive against the cruelty of the 3rd Reich but to also save others. I want to read the book now. It's a reminder that peace is the only way.
Nothing like the book. Even if it's not like the book, if you haven't read it...a waste of time. The movie left out a lot of the characters in the book like the fairies & trolls, etc. They changed the ending. The scenes were choppy, make-up was horrible (make-up not blended in), in one scene "Elinor" was on a motorcycle with a fake background with trees ("green screen"). Poorly done. My 12-year old and I read the books (trilogy) and my daughter actually cried at the end of the movie because the movie was nothing like the book, big disappointment - it did no justice to the book and there is no room for a sequel because the next book is InkSpell & then InkDeath. I didn't even want to give this movie 1 star. The books were awesome.
We had a total of 3 adults & 6 12-year olds. We all loved it! Read the book 1st so you can enjoy the movie more because you feel as you are watching the movie that you know a secret...it's because you know what Bella doesn't know. You can't help but scream when Edward & Carlisle appear because there was suspense. All the characters were played just as in the book. We laughed, screamed, & cheered. You knew who read the book in the different area's of the theater because of the different spontaneous reactions. Great till the end, good music too! The director did a great job putting together the story line with so much information given in the book. This is a 5-star movie. Can't wait for the sequel! Enjoy!!!
