As a fanof the series I loved this film. yes, there were some cheesey parts that made you giggle a little but the director stuck to the storyline of the book really well! In my theatre all the Jacob fans would scream when he took his shirt off. But hey! Taylor worked hard to keep his role and put on the wight for the role and did deserve t! Some of the lines sounded "read" when delivered but if you can look past that, the special effects and cinematogaphy made it better than the first movie. Twilight! IT WAS A FUN ESCAPE!!! Looking forward to the next!!!

Since I am not in the "tween" age yrs of my life, I read this series of books & was captivated because Ms. Meyers took me back to when I was that age. I remembered what it was to feel love & passion in such a powerful way. Though the films may differ a bit from some of the books, still I was pulled there not to scream like a young fan but to watch & be awestruck by the power to take me along for their ride in spite of my age. I loved it and am anxiously looking forward to Eclipse.

Much of the cast does not have a lot of range with their acting experience. The movie was true “enough” to the book. I am a bit tired of Kristen Stewart's flat affect, distant gaze, and apathetic disposition. She needs more range to her character. The Taylor Lautner, Jacob, and Robert Pattinson (Edward) characters were well developed. I can't wait to see further development of the new characters, such as Dakota Fanning as Jane. The CG was much better in this movie than Twilight. The CG was more obvious due to the wolf pack and their need to change from human to wolf form-- this made the movie so much more exciting! Of course, for any Twilight series fan you must go see the movie, but it is a movie series that is a work in progress!

I have to qualify those four stars - this is, of course, on a tween movie scale. Although Rob Pattinson never disappoints with his portrayal of the perpetually-melancholy Edward Cullen, there is something extremely flat and lifeless about his co-star, Kristin Stewart. Nevertheless, the movie did its job - it was certainly entertaining, even through moments of awkward dialogue and badly-played emotions. What shocked me most, however, was that the one person who has real, genuine acting experience, Dakota Fanning, got about 3 lines, most of which were monosyllabic. But I digress...if you've read the books, you owe it to yourself to see the movie.

The only reason I gave this film 1 star was because there is no option to give it NO stars. This may be one of the single worst films I've ever seen.
We've seen and heard it all before and much better in every conceivable way. The acting wasn't all that bad but very monochromatic and fairly dull. The tempo never picked up and it pretty much flatlines (similar to Edward's heart, I imagine) throughout the entire 2 and change hours. And I never really saw the point of Dakota Fanning. Stick to indy films, my young friend. Work on your craft. No...,really.
I only wish I would have invested in the film company. It is, after all, a cleaned up version of American Pie... Thank you, Chris, I wish you all the best.

New Moon did not live up to its hype, obviously the movie wasnt synced perfectly with the book and some scenes should've went into more detail...it was a good movie, but I could've waited for the dvd to come out

I know they had a larger budget this time around which made for great special effects and better acting too. I was very impressed with how they brought the book to life! Can't wait for Eclipse!

Followed the book very well! I definatly felt the connection between Bella & Jake. I would have liked to have seen more of the whole wolf dynamic and more regarding their gifts, maybe that will come in Eclipse. Definalty worth seeing. p.s. The sound trac rocks!!

The movie followed the book as close as it could for the time it had, but seemed like there was something missing......I thought the book was so much better. If you did not read the book, you wouldn't have a clue what's going on and would not enjoy the movie. I acutally liked Twilight better for the story, action and music......but New Moon was good. I'll probably watch it again. I'm very anxious for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.....those were my favorite books.

I saw the movie twice on opening day and I absolutely loved it. I'm all about Edward, but since this movie was predominantly about Jake and Bella's friendship I was pleased with how they transitioned into that. Great special effects, loved the Volturi, and I must say the cliffhanger ending was surprising but the loud gasp and screams in the theaters proved it was a perfect leeway into the next movie Eclipse.
I must say though, my only problem is that I feel I saw 80 percent of the movie through spoilers and clips that were all over the web. I think for Eclipse I'm going to stay away from spoilers and stick to just the trailer. Still Team Edward all the way.
I'm going to see this movie a lot more times before the DVD is released.

Good BUT not as good as Twilight. The relationship between Bella and Edward was flat. Effects were better in NM, but the emotional response wasn't there. I think Catherine Hardwick's version portrayed the pulse of the characters much more acurately.
Also, the score of NM sucks. Carter Burwell created a mood that was haunting. This NM version is too commercialized and forgetable.
Costumes - Edward in a suit jacket all the time is too old for this movie. No edginess and none for Alice as well.
Finally the whole cast made Twilight - they all had something to contribute but the nuances of characters weren't there. Only only Jacob really gives a stellar performance.

As a fan of the Twilight books, this movie was very refreshing. It followed the book closely, picked up on important details and looked gorgeous. In contrast with Twilight, this movie was tons better. Better acting, better colors, better everything.
The wolves were amazing, just as big as I'd imagined them. Aro of the volturi was excellent as well.
I would recommend this movie even to people who aren't fans. It was a fun ride.

As the Mom of two girls 11 & 13, I read all of the books and attended the opening nights of both Twilght and New Moon. Both followed the books closely but the 2nd movie was better. Each time I laughed as the young girls in the theater screamed when the lead actors came onto the screen! Movies are for entertaining and this movie delivers.

Fantastic! Acting better, plot better, everything was better this time around. The change in director was key -- hope this director stays on for the next one. More true to the book than the first one as well. Loved it!

If the audience you happen to see this movie with contains young kids between the ages of 8-18, you will get annoyed by the audience interaction. They will scream frequently, yell out words of praise for the good looking actors, and even boo the average looking ones. All that aside, this is a better film than the first Twilight and a good expansion of the vampire/werewolf mythology. However, it's geared towards its target audience of females under 18, and you will have to suffer through the obvious marketing ploys for that group.

I walked in knowing I would love it because I love the story and because I loved Twilight, but had no idea how much I would love it. I immediately wanted to turn around and get back in line and go see it again, and my idea of a perfect day would've been if I were able to camp out in a theatre and just watch it over and over and over again. It was amazing. I felt the acting was much better in this one than the first one and let's face it, the eye candy wasn't bad either. Now I just have to wait another 7 months for Eclipse. I missed seeing more of Edward but they did a good job of incorporating him where they could.
