It followed the book pretty well, until the ending. They added some random dialogue to the end that doesn't really happen until eclipse. The acting was absolutely horrendous, and it actually made me laugh at times because it was so bad. Kristen Stewart is officially the worst actress out there; she can't play the part at all. I don't think the movie depicted Bella's relationship with Jacob and her conflicting feelings very well either. The part with the Volturi was good. Dakota Fanning wasn't anything special as Jane though. This movie was a step up from Twilight, but it was still far from great.

Of all the movies I've seen this year, this was definitely one of them. It was a drawn out lesson on how to make vampires and werewolves boring by Stephanie Meyers. Borderline cheesy special effects and horrible acting (or directing) make this watchable only to true Twilight readers and fans. Even for a tween movie there is a ridiculous amount of moping and staring. Either Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson can't act, or the director won't let them.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Trust me, if you are a fan of the book, then you'll love the movie and it brings the book to life. Kristin Stewart did an AMAZING job. Jacob was so sweet. I thought the acting was great, the story moved at a nice pace, I'm still Team Edward all the way :) though. Also, if the cast, director and anyone involved reads this: THANK YOU!! This movie is wonderful, and I'm going to see if again tonight with another friend.

I loved this movie, I think reading the book first helped tho..........you have to read the book to understand all the sutle looks between Bella and Edward. Loved the werewolves, it was awesome can't wait until Eclipse

I should have known this would be awful considering the book is barely a story either. Nothing even happened. The acting was awful. The special effects were awful. Robert Pattinson's facial expressions were....inexplicable as usual. Horrible dialogue. Horrible make-up. The only redeeming quality of this film is the fact that its underage co-star managed to remain shirtless for a good amount of time (and even that was poorly worked into the script).
Of course teenage girls will love this. Who doesn't love unhealthy, emotionally abusive relationships?
More pathetic than there are words to describe it.

Kristen Stewart didn't give the same life to Bella as before. The Vampires looked more human, all haggard and worn instead of beautiful, marbled skinned creatures. What was up with Jacobs hair! His wig in Twilight was WAY more realistic. Why all the big baggy clothes on Alice? It was like they were trying to cover up a pregnancy or something. I know I am being overly critical. Maybe if I had never seen the first movie then maybe I wouldn't feel this way because there wouldn't be anything to compare it to. But I will say Chris Weitz did a GREAT job with the whole Wolf fazing and all the Vampire action. They "sped" more realistically in this movie and the fight scene at the Volturi was cool.

I am in love with the first movie, but this movie surprised me in so many ways, much more emotional and dramatic then the first, but it was a great change of pace. The graphics were way better then I had ever expected! I already want to go see it again. Now I just can't wait for Eclipse to come out. 8 more months to go.

This movie exceeded my expectations in every way! I am more a book person than a movie person in general, but you can't go wrong here. I think people will walk away from this one wondering which guy they want Bella to end up with.
This movie had action, comedy, romance, drama...I can't imagine anyone NOT enjoying this movie. A little over two hours was a perfect length (of course many of us would sit through more). So get your tickets and enjoy!

My husband and I went to see this movie together. I thought it was awesome. It was so much better than "Twilight". It follows the book very well, but flip flops a few things. My husband is not a "Twilight" fan, but he liked the movie. He liked that it had more action. I can't wait for this movie to come out on DVD. I will be waiting in line when they put it on the shelves!

i went into the theatre expecting something totally different from the first movie, since it was a new director. i was afraid the people would look different and the action would lack. but i was really wrong. the movie was amazing. the people looked better, if not the same. i cant believe that edward and bella finally said i love you in a movie, since they did that in the first book, but it wasn't in twilight. and even though the fight with the volturi didn't happen in the book like that, it still worked and i loved it. but when it comes to the ending, REALLY?!?!?! Marry me Bella, and then BAM! screen goes blank. what was that!?!?!?!?! Ahhhhhhh, stupid director people, i can't wait seven months for this....

If you read the books, then you'll love this movie. Also, if you were disappointed by Twilight, which I was.. this movie totally makes up for it. The new director really made up for the lack of effort in Twilight. The acting was 100% better than Twilight. I can't say enough good things about this movie. Die hard Twilight fans definately need to see the movie. I feel like the movie completely reflected the book in every aspect.

New Moon was the slowest of the 4 books in the saga. Which made this movie a challenge to make exiting for non book readers. They did a good job keeping the movie moving and staying with the story line from the book. They could have shown a little more of Bella's inter struggle within the love triangle. The acting was definitely improved in this episode.

This is a wonderful addition to the Twilight Saga. It followed the book so well. And Jacob looked amazing! And of course so did Edward! The whole movie makes you want to get in line for Eclipse. I cant wait until it comes out. This movie was amazing!!!!!

So impressed how close they stayed to the book. Left out a few things, but still it was good. The ending was kind of cheesy; however it was a good lead into Eclipse. The wolves were awesome and the vampires actually looked like vampires. Great movie, and can't wait till Eclipse.

New Moon was a decent movie. I would say it was a lot better than Twilight. The overall directing and acting really improved. However, the actors still exaggerate too much on their acting. Every seen with Rob P is so dramatically acted out.

I will say that New Moon is my least favorite book out of the entire saga (I am team Edward).... HOWEVER... the movie was FANTASTIC! The acting, special effects, and everything was so much better in this one! Taylor ROCKS as Jacob - and I am seeing this movie again today... and then I might be team switzerland by the end.... but... I love the elements that were added to help the story move such as the dream catcher and that one other part near the end (I don't want to give it away) and over all the movie in one word... BRILLIANT? No..... SPECTACULAR! my family, who aren't twi-hards like me saw it with me and they even liked it, despite them not caring for the first one! LOVED it!! Can't wait for Eclipse!!

In Twilight, Kristen's near constant stuttering and eyelash fluttering drove me nuts. Plus there were times when her line delivery was stoic. She detracted from the story. In New Moon most of her annoying "technique" issues were fixed, allowing the storyline to shine through. The only thing that really annoyed me was her style of screaming and writhing during nightmares. Her chemistry with Taylor was really good, and even though I'm team Edward, I found my self wishing that Bella would just kiss Jacob already. Give us some relief! The CG was ok, but at certain times the wolves seemed a bit cartoony---particularly the darker wolves. The lighter ones looked more realistic to me.
Overall, I though New Moon was a better movie than Twilight.
