Although this movie is pinned as a drama, I would call it more of a dramedy. The whole theater was cracking up through the majority of the movie. Although there were some very touching and troubling scenes. I have spent the whole weekend quoting this movie and telling my family about it.

Boy meets, girls, boy loses girl, boy learns lesson. We have seen it all before, but the film-making and performances are fresh and new. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is amazing in every film he makes. Loved the ending as well. A great sleeper hit for the summer.

Best thing about it is the two characters, and the actors who made them SO real! I loved and cared about both of them, they were both so honest, each with his and her own version of reality. We've all been a Tom, we've all been a Summer. Or known them. You WILL relate! And you will LAUGH! (and maybe cry). I went and then went back the next day and brought a bunch of friends. Don't miss this one, it's this year's Juno for sure.

Back-and-forth romance about a guy who goes ga-ga for an adventurous and selfish co-worker. This movie has it's funny moments, but it's essentially a tragedy in which we see a very likable guy get schooled on the randomness of love and life. I experienced anger, anxiety, frustration and pity towards the main characters. See it if you've had your heart crushed by someone and you'll recognize it immediately. It's probably not for you if you can't relate.

Listening to the excellent soundtrack of 500 Days of Summer as I write this review.
Great classic movie about love, relationships, men, women, the big city, and fate. So many of us insist on stubbornly attempting to fit our expectations (the one) into an “impossible fit” (not the right one) reality. As much as we want it to work, the square peg just won't fit into the round hole. The "Expectations/Reality" spilt screen scene clearly shows how our expectations set us up for crushing unhappiness.
First movie I have seen that romanticizes the City of Angels (LA) in an eastern New York kind of way. From architecturally sound buildings and loft interiors to believe it or not, a rainy night in Los Angeles.

I've now seen (500) Days of Summer twice and loved it more the second time. Marc Webb did an amazing job bringing Neustadter & Weber's script to life. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel were fantastic in the roles of Tom and Summer. If people don't already know it, Joseph will be a huge star after this. This is the perfect movie to see on a date...or even in a group with your friends. You won't regret it!

I've been anticipating this film for a while so when I got the chance to watch it at a promo filming, I jumped to see it. The story line is smartly written and the way that it is edited is brilliantly done, it keeps you guessing as what is to happen next. Its a new twist on the typical love story that seems most real to us in reality. Boy loves girl, boy falls in love with girl, girl doesn't. Finally, a movie worth watching. And for those music lovers out there, Andrea von Foester, the music supervisor did an amazing job. From every aspect of this movie through editing, writing, wardrobe, and music, you will be pleased.
