My Fiancé and I, both 25, found this film to be very enjoyable. I really love how the director had the good sense to keep things historically accurate, while still giving us thrilling action sequences. We were both wrapped up in a story line that had just enough, but not to many twists. I look forward to a sequel with Professor Moriarty.

Great story .Great cast! It had me going through the whole movie/Downering was amazing in a major and Law also amazing as a supporting act.The woman was very beauitiful.I happened to enjoy the story line ,but i do enjoy things of the occult yet I would think most people would love this pic:)

We saw this movie being filmed in London last year and had to see it as soon as it came out. I can't say that I was disappointed, but I can't say that it was the best movie either. While the Holmes and Watson friendship came out great and the depiction of the logic of Sherlock Holmes was excellent, I just thought that there was way too much Kung Fu/Indiana Jones in the movie. Sherlock Holmes has always been portrayed as a brainiak as opposed to the physical. They could have cut 15 minutes of action scenes out of the film and kept it right under 2 hours and made it more believable.

Somewhat difficult to understand the first several minutes -- the speed and technology tended to leave me behind; but wonders of wonders, suddenly everything meshed and it became a "fun ride."
Robert Downey Jr agains achieves his usual above the bar performance, but the "Bravos" must be directed to Jude Law. His Dr. Watson becomes the standard by which future actors undertaking this role will be judged. Mr. Law again proves that he is not just a pretty face...he is a brilliant actor!

Did not like this movie. Although Robert Downey JR gave a very strong performance as did Jude Law and Rachael McAdams, the movie was too fast paced and confusing. the English accents were so thick and cockney that, most of the time, I had difficulty understanding them so it became difficult to follow. The set designs and special effects were incredible and I really enjoyed that aspect of the movie but I would not reccomend it.

Went to see it with my husband of 29yrs, and our youngest who's 19yrs with her boyfriend who is also 19yrs. So we were a vast generational expansion who were thoroughly enjoying the movie at every aspect!!! The wit and the action complimented each other perfectly. The scenery was wonderful and very believable. Robert Downey Jr did an absolutely exceptional job with his role as Holmes, Jude Law playing Dr Watson was also very noteworthy, the bulldog really pulled it off though!!! Finally Guy
Ritchie, a good one!!!

This reworking of the Sherlock Holmes legend is a marvelous, delightful adreneline rush which does not take itself too seriously - with some impressive repartee between Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr. as well as cleverly written one-liners for many of the supporting actors. Not for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle purists, but for the rest of us, a refreshing new perspective on a most iconic and enduring literary figure. While Robert Downey, Jr. does not resemble any incarnation of Sherlock Holmes by any stretch of anyone's imagination, he acquits himself admirably; we believe him. My only quibble is the presentation of Irene Adler as a romantic interest, which she never was in any of Sir Arthur's stories. Regardless, five stars. See it!

Being a fan of early depictions, I was sure I would not like this movie but was surprised. There are aspects of the character that I felt sure would be exploited and offensive, but instead were crafted well into the story line. The previews led me to believe it would also be stuffed with contrived action ala Indiana Jones, but even that was unexpectedly well suited to the story. I can stil name 20 actors
(most of them actually British) that I would have cast in the lead before Robert Downey Jr., but he was acceptable and only distracted from the story in a few minor moments. Overall a good movie.

The movie was filled with action, but not the super unbelievable computer generated kind. This action was from the perspective of an older time, setting, etc. . The type of effects that were an enhancement to the movie. I enjoyed Robert Downey as he brought such life to the character from the books I read as a kid. I also liked the fact that the guy did not necessarily get the girl! Very enjoyable and hope to see a sequel!!

This movie is a definite must see, the movie is fast paced and does not bore. I give Guy Ritchie his props for making a fantastic film, the cinematogrpahy set the tone for the movie, and the cast was top notch! I love that they had Sherlock Holmes giving a case of whoop a@! in the movie and that he wasn't a stuff shirt, please see this movie!!!

This Film is a must see! It is superbly acted by all. Jude Law is excellent as Watson. I would have expected Holmes to be more dignified, but that was Ritchie's interpretation, not Downey's shortcoming as an actor. The plot is great, b/c I don't like the occult, and all is explained by Holmes so that the whole movie isn't about evil. The time period is perfectly done, Downey does an amazing English accent and portrayal of Holmes. Mc Adams is beautiful and mysterious. It was also very funny all the way through. Hugely entertaining.

I was excited to hear that Guy Ritchie was making a new movie and knew he would knock it out of the park this time. A remake of Sherlock Holmes---well why not? He did this one beautifully! I'm a Guy Ritchie fan and this movie validated that fact. The movie was smart, funny, gritty and exciting. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law were fantastic in these roles and I hope, if there is a sequel, that Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Guy Ritchie will all be onboard for the sequel.

Interesting movie but not the greatest. Basically a "Lethal Weaponized" take on Holmes. Story could be stronger. Took too long for the movie to develop and start moving. Hard to get into a movie when the plot is not revealed until the last 10 minutes of the show. Rachael McAdams not strong enough of a presence for her role.
