There are those who love this movie and those who hate it...my WHOLE family LOVED it! It was paced well, great story, great direction & WOW Robert Downey Jr. is fantastic! Our family ranged from 9 - 65 and all of us would see it again!!

I really enjoyed this movie. The cinematography was cool, costumes lush and there were plenty of exciting and fun moments. I would have enjoyed it even more if I hadn't been in a FREEZING cold theater, but that's not the movies fault.

After taking the time to see this movie I was so dissapointed. I'm a huge Sherlock fan and this movie did not do justice to the true character. Both Dr. Watson and Sherlock were unrecognizable to a true fan. They spoke so fast that at times we could not follow the movie at all. I'm sorry to say that I will not go to additional sequel!

The movie was pretty good overall, but I did get bored during some parts of the story. This was a slight twist on the old Sherlock Holmes stories that I know, but the action and special effects kept me interested. It's worth a see, but don't expect too much from this one.

Having been a fan of the older more methodically paced Sherlock Holmes movies this update definitley brings a new pace to current times. Anyone who thinks this movie was too slow or walked out on it, must have been at the Alvin and the Chipmunks premiere. This version keeps the intriguing aura of greatness to Holmes while giving Watson an uplift. My 15 year old son was captivated. Law and Downey are excellent in their roles.

Any lover of the classic Sherlock Holmes books will really love the smart and comic side to this movie. Anyone who's only ever heard the name Sherlock Holmes will love the movie as a whole, and any fan of Robert Downey Jr will absolutely think this is fantastic. It has a sterling cast of actors and a wonderful storyline that carries you quickly through to the end and sets up the sequel with Moriarty!
Thought smaller children might not enjoy this movie as much, my teens loved it as much as I did... even if they didn't get all the more adult humor.

The action was spot on in this adventure story. Well-cast and well-developed. For those familiar with Holmes and Doyle, the movie and characters are well-portrayed. For those less familiar, the plot has a few slow down points that can get annoying. The action revs the viewer up; then, the plot and character development pulls the viewer back down. This adrenaline roller coaster can get a bit tiring; but, overall, the movie is quite enjoyable for the story, the character interaction, the casting and the action.

I love Guy Ritchie when he sticks to fast-paced, fun, complicated thrillers, and Sherlock Holmes was no exception. Deeper than his usual heist films, with the all the original story and well-earned reputation of the Sherlock Holmes series to back it up, the film does not disappoint in any way. I thought it would be hilarious, intriguing and thrilling, and it absolutely was. Great acting on the part of all the leads, with Holmes & Watson being particularly memorable. I recommend it to all!!!

Sherlock Holmes exceeded my expectations. I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes since I was kid and was therefore pretty excited about this movie. Holmes' and Watson's characters were a little different from they way they are portrayed in Doyle's original stories, but I liked the differences. In the movie, Holmes and Watson are portrayed more as equals or as brothers with both of them bringing expertise and skills to the mystery to be solved. I loved Irene Adler's character. The cast was excellent and the whole movie experience was incredible.

There is one reason to watch this movie. Downey & Jude. The chemistry between these two men make the movie. Yes, it is a new Sherlock Holmes, but there were points that dragged. Rachel McAdams is very good, but she seemed out of place as the character. Overall it was shot beautifully and England looked great. Guy Ritchie has his moments that bring a lot to the screen, but misses when the story slow down.

I enjoyed the movie as it had a little action, but not too much to overwhelm me with the noise, it had dialogue which most movies today lack, and it had mystery that was revealed at the end. I especially enjoyed the fight scenes because of the way they were done. Robert Downey Jr. was easy on the eyes during those scenes but otherwise looked awfully disheveled. Jude Law was easier on the eyes at all times!
