This was one of the most wonderful movie-going experiences and is a genuine keepsake for all who have loved RENT on Broadway and in various touring productions! I have seen the show several times and have the movie, but this was a whole new, wonderful way to see the actors and all the nuances of this musical. What a wonderful piece of work from Jonathan Larson - he has touched people's lives for 12 years and will continue to do so with this gem.

This was great to be able to experience the last show on Broadway. It was very emotional especially at the end! I still can not believe that it isnt going to be running anymore. Thank god for DVD's to be able to watch it whenever. I am so excited about being able to see it one more time when it comes to DC and able to see 2 of the orginal cast members in that tour!!

I love that the message Jonathon Larson gave us is now properly recorded for posterity. The acting, singing, and direction were wonderful. The editing was brilliant - everytime you needed to see more than one thing at a time, the camera angle was perfect to capture it. Some are complaining about the tight shots, I think it was necessary to see the emotion pouring out of these characters. Amazing. Just wish it was a longer run so I could see it again and again and again.

RENT the movie OF the Broadway Play was incredible. Other than not getting full effect of the whole stage at times the sound, colors, actors; All of it was fabulous. I have RENT the movie version but it is nothing like this. It brings back a lot of memories of a very sad and difficult period in time. The cast was terrific. The play is coming to Boston next summer and i'm looking forward to seeing it. The producers of this movie deserve a BRAVO!

This was amazing! I cried the whole time with enjoyment. I would have pade $100 to see this at the movie theatre. I am so happy and greatful that I was able to experience this film with my bestfriends, my fellow Rent heads. I cant believe this erra has come to an end. Im going to go cry now!

It was amazing to see this show before it was gone for who knows how many years. It was also nice to save some money and the trip into New York. It was also nice to see the actors faces. Almost as good as seeing it live. This movie production got us so close to the actors' faces, you could see the tears forming in their eyes!
What I especially loved was the unbridled energy of the whole cast! A completely all-out final show that made even the movie audience clap their hands along with the cast and applaud at the end of the songs with the theater goers.
Sheer joy and exuberance. Fabulous gift to theater, to us.

The fact that it was filmed and not the actual thing might throw people off but it was really worth it! Rent is amazing and in any case even if i had gone to see the last performance i would have not been able to see the cast so up close! The songs were flawless, the cast was outstanding, and the appearance of the OBC at the end was priceless!

I'm so grateful that they filmed and preserved this piece of Broadway history. I've seen the show live many times including once with the cast in this last performance. I would go see it every time I needed inspiration. I can't get enough of it. Although there is nothing like live theater, this film was the next best thing. It was reliving the experience all over again. I especially enjoyed the close-ups, which is something you don't get when you see it live. This needs to be released on DVD!

I thought that this version, the filmed version of the last night of the show, was so much better than the movie version. It was almost as good as being at the NY theater. The biggest difference was that you could see the actors' faces--an all new experience for me and a Broadway show.

This movie version was amazing. I had seen a touring company do RENT years ago, so it was great to see it "on Broadway" through this film. The singers were unbelievably great! As someone who can't get to NY easily or often or as someone who can't afford Broadway ticket prices this was such a deal! I wish they would do this for other shows. I would pay $20 over and over to see more shows this way.

I have seen the show on the stage seven times, and it was awesome to see the Broadway production since I never made it to New York to see it. I really hope they put this on DVD. It was worth 15 bucks. I thought the way they filmed it was well done. There are things you can miss when you see it on stage. For example Angel exiting off stage after the super sad scene. I loved that they showed that.

My boyfriend and I absolutely adored this film. It was great to be able to see the show in it's entirety on film and with such a fantastic cast! This was an absolutely fantastic show and totally worth viewing. Have seen this show live and it was great to be able to relive those moments on film. This was a joy to see and was something that could not be passed up! Great job done by everyone and completely worth it. This needs to be available and on dvd!!! Putting this on dvd would allow people who were not able to make it to a theater to see it and would allow those who did see it the opportunity to watch it again and share this great piece with others. Great experience. Loved every minute of it!

I was extremely impressed with this film. It was great to be in the theatre with other fans of the play who were as enthused as I was and who applauded as if they were in the actual theatre. This film is the perfect opportunity for those who missed the live performance on Broadway. I still recommend seeing it live, but this is an excellent alternative. The camera work was great and It caught the story nuances that are sometimes missed when you don't have the best seats for a live performance. I highly recommend this film and hope that it will be shown in movie theatres on a regular basis and be on DVD soon.

We've seen Rent the movie and on stage in Florida, but never had the opportunity to see the Broadway show. While this isn't quite like seeing a show on Broadway its very close. The camera angles and facial expressions which may not be clear at a live show were perfectly placed throughout the movie. We loved this and hope it comes out on DVD soon so we can add it to our collection.

I should tell you, I should tell you...that Rent is awesome! Well worth paying $20 to see the last show. Would like to buy this DVD, if it comes out in the future.

I had only seen the movie on dvd version prior to getting to see the broadway edition yesterday. Wish they were letting it stay at theatres a little longer although it was a little expensive. It was so overly worth it. I had such a good time..IT was nice to see so many other friendly "Renters" clapping and cheering along with me. I can't wait till it comes to the Dallas Summer Musical Series Summer of 09..I hope more broadway plays can come to theatres as well. No Day But Today
