Don't waste your time! I did break a smile twice during the 2 hour movie but then I don't consider it a comedy. I would of left but came with two friends so I had to sit through it, though they weren't laughing much either. I like Paul Rudd but never been a fan of Steve Carrell and said Date Night would be my last but another friend insisted it was a good funny movie. She was wrong!!!!!!

After reading some of the mixed reveiws on this movie I just about passed on it...I love Steve Carrell tho and wanted to give it a shot and I am happy that I did! I have to say, I thought that this movie was HILARIOUS!!! There were parts that made me double over with laughter throughout the movie and my kids loved it too! Steve Carrell wins again! Paul Rudd and Zach Galifianakis were awesome too, as were the rest of the cast! I would absolutely recommend this movie to anyone!

Typical Steve Carrell movie. If you like Steve Carrell you will like the movie. He is not my type of funny actor. This role would have been better cast with Paul Giomanti or the Bug eyed actor. Robin Williams could have made this movie hilarious. Jonathan Winters as his counterpart boss would have been my choice as well. No offense meant towards Steve Carrell. I don't buy his funniness. This movie was hilarious from the start. It also had moments that were both touching and poignant. Often times you see so many trailers and they show ALL the funny parts...not this time. I would see this movie again to catch what I missed while laughing the first time. The comedic duo of Carell and Rudd worked on so many levels. Dinner for Schmucks, wonderfully crafted and totally entertaining. I laughed from beginning to the end with the comedy. I thought the casting of the characters couldn't have been better. Reading some of the reviews and listening to critics almost steered me wrong on this one. While the "dinner" part of the movie is rather short and certainly not the focus of the movie, Steve Carrell's character is funny throughout the film. I felt like I was watching Steve Martin as The Jerk it was just one of those characters that you can't help but laugh at everything stupid he does and says and Paul Rudd plays well alongside him. The best part of Dinner for Schmucks to me was Jemaine Clement as Kieran. There should be a spin-off movie based solely on this character, as they did with Aldous Snow from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Overall there were few times that I found myself bored with Dinner for Schmucks, thoroughly enjoyed it!

I have read others reviews and some say that the movie was slow - What I feel was slow were the people who that it was slow -
Slow to get the movie and how funny it was. Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell were a perfect combination -andStephanie Szostack was hot,

The mice sculptures were so incredibly done well and made sense what all the different scenes meant to the Carrell part later in the movie -
Here a secret that very few knew about - Once again - never leave the theatre till the last credit runs - No animals were hurt during this movie and even to the point where the screen is to go dark and the lights fully on - at the very very very end of the movie there is one more scene with the mice - I won't give it away - but it is worth sitting and waiting - myself and maybe one or two more stayed till the end - Well worth it -
The new trend in movies are the secret last scenes after the creditis to force you to stay and stare at the people that made up the film thinking - I have no clue who any of these people are but it sure takes a lot of people to make this film -

VERY slow, dinner was the best part and that didn't happen until the movie was almost over. You could see where the movie was going the whole time.

This movie was not only disappointing, it was downright just not good. I am a big fan of outlandish comedies (i.e. The Hangover, Dumb and Dumber, etc.) and this did not even come near to the their level of funny.
