Am I the only one who thought this movie stunk?!

I don't know why critics liked this movie (perhaps they were paid off by the movie companies!) Despite its stellar cast, this movie was awful. I found the plot to be boring & completely unbelievable. A brand new virus is discovered & vaccinated against within a few months... riggghhhht!!! Could NEVER happen. We don't even have a vaccine for HIV, Hep C, herpes, etc, and they've been around for many, many years. It would have been more believable if the virus was a mutated flu or something that we could have realistically created a vaccine for in a relatively short time. There was no excitement in this movie... no real climax & no resolution. There were some cool parts that made you think, like the breakdown of society in a crisis situation, but all in all, I would NOT recommend seeing this movie in theaters.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

It was essentially a remake of the 1st movie. There were some very funny parts but not nearly as funny as the 1st one. Plus it was about 10 mins too long--the end kinda drags out. All in all, I don't think I'd recommend paying to see this in theaters. Definitely rent it on video but it's not worth a $14 movie ticket.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Mildly entertaining & way too long...

I was expecting much more from this movie. Russell Brand is usually hilarious but was only mildly entertaining in this movie. I don't blame him though, the script was awful & the movie just dragged on & on. The co-lead (Greta Gerwig) was just so plain. I don't know how in the world she was cast as his love interest. She's a best friend at best. I'd watch it on video but don't pay to see this mediocre movie in theaters. Rent Dudley Moore's version if you must see "Arthur" now...

Decent, but not much of a plot.

'127 Hours' is a decent movie, but lacks a strong plot. The movie mostly centers around a guy being stuck in a crevice. There is not much plot development before he gets stuck, and only vague references to his life through a series of short flashbacks. It would have been so much better if there were more background development about his life before he got stuck. Nevertheless, it was entertaining w/good cinematography but kind of a disappointment when you think of how much better it could have been. I recommend seeing this movie, but I'd wait till it comes out on DVD.

I'm not going to waste your time saying how good the movie was cuz you've already heard it a dozen times. But what I will say is that I don't understand why people are saying that this movie was sad. I actually thought it was uplifting & had a happy ending. My friend who saw it with me thought the same thing. Guess you'll just have to see it & decide for yourself!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not as good as the original, too far fetched, & very predictable--I saw almost every plot turn before it even happened. It's unbelievable the way Shia's inexperienced character easily gets revenge on veteran Wall Street tycoons (& w/o ending up in prison!) I was also bothered by the way Charlie Sheen only had a tiny cameo with dialogue that was not at all pertinent to the plot. Plus, details from the original movie were too easily dismissed. For instance, they glossed over the fact that Charlie Sheen's character got Gordon Gecko sent to jail in the 1st movie & made Josh Brolin's character the target of Gordon's revenge as the one who 'really' put him there...right! Still entertaining, but I would probably wait to see it on video before plunking down $12+ to see it in theaters.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It was a pretty funny movie. Very predictable, kinda silly, a little too long. There were parts that were hilarious & some were kinda stupid. A fun movie though & I would recommend seeing it but I'd wait til it comes out on video. A worth seeing but definitely not at $10+ per ticket.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

An unexpected treat!

This movie was great...so much better than I expected it to be! I wasn't expecting much after the last 2 movies. Truthfully, the only reason I went to see it was because I wanted to see Shrek in 3D (I couldn't even get my friend to come with me!) But what an unexpected surprise! The movie was awesome--original plot, amazing 3D, funny, dramatic...it had it all. The 3D was sick--you felt as if you were living in Far-Far-Away! In many ways, even better than the first! GO SEE THIS MOVIE (in 3D)!!!
