I went to see this movie yesterday at the first showing. Meryl Streep is amazing and she has definitely captured the essence of Julia Child. If Julia was alive I am sure she would approve of her performance. Amy Adams is good in the supportive role and she is defintiely a "up and coming actress". Go see this movie. You'll not be disappointed.

The film was superb in all respects, scenes of 1950's & 60's Paris were wonderful, Meryl Streep's performance was Academy Award caliber and, of course, Julia Child and her amazing career stole the show--good for all but a must-see for anyone who loves cooking, food and Paris!!

I saw this last night and I loved every minute of it. Meryl was amazing, and Amy was delightful. It was "tasteful" and completely unoffensive and enjoyable. Something we don't have offered up very much in theaters. And I haven't read or heard anyone complain about the length or dare to say the story dragged...it didn't and it wasn't too long. Simply delicious!

An amazing movie! I went with my sister to watch this movie as soon as it was out and we both had a blast. We just wish there were more movies coming out like this one.
All actors/actresses did a fantastic job at their portrayals. Meryl Streep, as always, is phenomenal. Amy Adams is equally fabulous. Chris Messina is terrific, and Stanley Tucci is brilliant! Go have some fun! You won't regret it.

This movie was absolutely amazing! Meryl was terrific as always! I'm a huge Meryl fanatic so I had to see the movie at midnight. It was funny, charming, and in a way, romantic. Oh I can't get over how much Meryl resembled Julia Child. It was extraordinary!!!

Saw this movie at midnight last night... I'm only 20 but love to cook and try new recipes so I could totally relate to this movie. Meryl Streep is a favorite actress in my book and she did a great job becoming Julia Child. I used to watch Julia Child's cooking shows in elementary school on summer vacation and wanted to cook just like her! The settings in France were just gorgeous and I was familiar with the NY settings... If you appreciate food and finding something that makes you come at peace, then you will enjoy this film!

Saw this last night with 366 other enthusiastic "just want to be entertained" movie-goers. What a hoot ! Amy Adams gave the performance of her career . . . only problem was . . . she shared the screen with The GENIUS ! Meryl Streep did NOT portray Julia Child . . . she BECAME Julia Child ! ! ! Audience loved this one. Me, too. And its got legs, 'cause I can't wait to see it again. Who knew that food could be the subject of a movie about one of the most entertaining characters in modern American history, Julia Child , the lady with a secret. She may have been a spy for the good guys but it's no secret you'll love this movie.

This movie was outstanding, interweaving two women's real life stories and how they paralled, one influencing the other while never meeting. Richness and beauty in both lives came through even though one character was a stranger to us and one, well known to all. Streep was nothing short of genus in her role. I loved, loved, loved it ! ( less talking with food in the mouth by all would have been welcome and mentioned by all of my group of 5 )

Meryl Streep and Amy Adams make a wonderful performance in 'Julie & Julia'. They make Martha Stewart wait at the drive-in window. This isn't a great film, but it isn't a horrible film either. It's in the middle. There are some ups, and some downs. You take this film for what it is. This is a good enough film that Martha Stewart is waiting for a burger.
