this movie will set the precedent for all the 2012 hoopla that will follow for the next three years but fortunately for everyone else planning to ride out the doomsday bandwagon the bar has been set ridiculously low. 2012 blows and I'm gonna leave it at that. The only saving grace is the brilliant portrayal of the President by Sir Danny Glover and by brilliant i mean it seemed like he was stoned. Danny, if you're reading, the lethal weapon series will always hold a special place in my heart but please don't undertake any more projects that are more difficult than say, an over the hill detective with a drunk anti-semetic for a partner. But apart from sharing a laugh at Mr. Glovers expense(who I still admire by the way) 2012 flat out sucked.

The movie is great it has a smooth plot and great detail in the action sequences. There is not alot of lag time, and the ending is good considering all the rising action but for a goof movie it leavs you wanting more.

This movie was sensationalism for the sake of sensationalism. For my friends and I, it was more of a guilty pleasure to just make fun of this movie throughout the enitre film. There are so many little inacurracies, but as long as you take your brain out, you'll have fun. It was truly a waaaaay over the top destruction movie.

I took my 16 year old and thought he'd probably enjoy it more than me. But it had a decent plot (okay, not entirely plausible, but, it's a movie, not a documentary). The characters were well developed for the most part, the special effects were great, and it had me rooting for them long after I realized (SPOILER ALERT) that the main ones were going to make it. Good entertainment.

I thought twice about going to see this movie on Saturday. Newsday gave it 1 and 1/2 stars. Well, THEY WERE WRONG! I was taken in by the story, action, acting, effects and sound for the ENTIRE two and 1/2 hours! Are many chase scenes as plausable as those in Indiana Jones.....YES! But I happen to know that many people like this type of action, including MYSELF!! In this case, it's the Earth/Wind/Fire that is doing the chasing...AND THAT'S EXCITING! I liked this movie so much that I went to see it AGAIN on Sunday! In fact, if I buy a Blue Ray Player this Holiday Season, it's because I will eventually want to see 2010 on it- In My Living Room! If you like science fiction (and I hope that's all lit is), then you MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!

Graphics were incredable. It was a great movie to see on the big screen. I was gripping my seat through the entire movie. Although predictable, it was sespenceful. I would recommend seeing in the theater. It's a bit graphic with people dying, so I wouldn't recommend it for kids under 12.

This Movie is more fun to watch than Day After Tomorrow, but believability of driving and flying as the world crumbles around you is brainless fun.
Kind of like the old Poseidon Adventure or Towering Inferno or Die Hard. Great Special Effects, a simple to follow storyline and threat after threat and anything bad that can happen is drawn to your characters.
I went to see a movie of how the world would look in disaster and turmoil and I enjoyed the ride . I would compare it to Independence Day. With the EFX humor and action.
Both good Special EFX movie that's fun to watch period.

Far-fetched. Some of the effects were good, but overall just unbelievable. To get from LA to China the way they did; no way. And the soap box speech to open the gates; ridiculous. I kept thinking it would get better; nope. Not really worth the $ we put out to go.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The disaster movie of all tmes. The 2 1/2 hours flew by. I was on the edge of my seat for the whole time. I thought it was even better than The Day After Tomorrow. I would recommend this film to any one who likes disaster movies and who want to be entertained from start to finish.
