First of all, I loved the short film before the movie. Pixar is the only company still showing them. It was creative and fun.
Secondly, looking around the movie theater before the show, I was amazed at the audience - mostly young adults who were anxious to see their heroes and childhood memories from Toy Story and Toy Story 2. How many PG movies bring out groups of 20 year old men and women? And of course, there were families there too -truly children of all ages.
Lastly, the movie was entertaining from beginning to end. It made me laugh and cry....no...bawl. It touches the heart of everyone, but really hit home with me as my son just finished his freshman year of college. And coincidently, he just cleaned out his room.
I loved this movie and the entire trilogy. Toy Story 2 was a great sequel, second only to Godfather ii. Toy Story 3 stands alone as the best part 3, ever. End of story.
Thank you Pixar.

Revisiting the Toy Story characters with our 4-year old grandson was a fun experience. He had not seen TS1 or 2. No worries! The story kept his interest for the entire hour, 49 minutes. To me this means, good story writing, good animation and enough action-packed scenes to hold the attention of both a healthy, active 4-year old boy and grandparents who sometimes doze off during other kid's movies.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I saw Toy Story 3 last evening, the 3-D version, and found it to be very enjoyable. Many of the lines were hysterical and the animation was typical Pixar perfection. Not having seen the 2nd movie in the series did not affect my following the story line which helped my viewing experience. With Andy all 'grown' up and leaving for college, the story brought back a lot of old memories and touched upon many emotions. I'm glad my parents have a large attic! The 3-D effects were very well done. This is an enjoyable movie for all ages and I highly recommend it.

There are many 3D animated "childrens" movies out there. Most lack the quality of character development, story, and visual richness that defines the Pixar studio. Toy Story three has the ability to move even adults on an emotional level by paying attention to nuance of expressions and timing. Visually, Toy Story three does not disappoint: an opening sequence as big and imaginative as any action movie; new toy characters so authentic they bring back childhood memories; and rendering, with textures and lighting, that makes you forget it's not a live action film. The film carried me, a 32 y/o male, through a whole range of emotions, and gently delivered me to the end credits in pure delight. On top of it, Pixar's short, Day & Night, before the main feature was so beautiful and inspiring that it was worth the price of admission on it's own. All in all, don't miss this work of excellence, no matter your age.

I've grown up loving Toy Story and it's fantastic characters and the third movie was certainly no exception! I was a little worried that since it had been so long since the second had come out that it would lose a little of it's humor being that I'm no longer 9, but Disney & Pixar didn't disappoint. I've been anxiously awaiting this release for a long time and I believe it's an instant classic. It's humor is great for both kids and adults and the story line is wonderful as usual!

We went to the movie last night 6-18-10, found it was a good movie, will be buying it when it comes out on video. It was nice going to a movie without any foal language in it. Felt like crying at the end of it because it was so good. The 3D effects were great, even though the movie had one minor clinch, which was fixed right away. This is one movie you can take the kids to without any worries. And you don't have to be a kid to enjoy this movie.

We were a group of 8 with kids ranging in age from 3 to 39. One of our kids had seen the movie the night before and wanted to go again! We all loved it. Very touching for the female adults in our party and often very suspenseful. Well done Pixar for maintaining the greatness of Toy Story for the kids who love Woody, Buzz and Co. and the adults who love them too!

We took our 3 kids to see this..most kids movies are just that...for the kids..but the adults were well entertained as well. This movie is a little darker than the previous 2..but still very good. I think they had to go there in order to make the story truly what it is. Very Good Movie! Take your kids..go on a date..take your parents..it doesnt matter, you will enjoy it.

It was well worth the wait to go see it in 3d. I noticed a very diverse crowd at the theater. I think that Jim Varney would be proud of the work they did for the dog. You have to see it in real 3d that is the only way to see it.

I definitely thought this movie was amazing. I was going into thinking it was going to be like the 2nd movie which was OK, but not nearly as good as the original. Through this thought process I watched all the trailers, still wanting to see it, but my expectations were not high. Boy was I wrong. Naturally, by waiting about 10 years for what happens next, I was enthusiastic for the movie to start, and when it did, I could feel the intensity heighten. The pixar short was cute, with the day and night coming together. Then came the movie. And I must admit, I absolutely loved it. *SPOILER ALERT* Though it was obvious that Lotso was the bad guy and kind of resembled the same characteristics of the prospector from TS2, It had its own twists and turns that I found entertaining. I think my favorite part was when they were about to go into the fire and the claw came down. I knew right away that it was the alien guys, and the elan that I felt that they brought back the "You saved our lives. We are eternally grateful" thing and twisted it. So Good! =D It was a sad ending, and I could really relate to Andy because I just graduated and I'm going to leave for college soon as well. When he just told Bonnie about the toy's role's, I was choked up. But when he played with them for the last time, I was flat out crying; tears streaming down my face. I thought I was just crazy, but then I heard weeping from all around me as maybe a third of the theater was crying as well. Even calling back on it now, a tear forms in my eye. I loved that movie, and I might dare to even say that it was better than the original. The first one will always hold a place in my heart, but this one....this one was so good and so heart-wrenching that I feel like it tops the first. This is one of the new classics.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I hated this movie....I have two boys 7 yrs.old and almost 2 yrs. old and we own Toy Story and Toy Story 2 but Toy Story 3 is definitely not in the same light as the first two Toy Story movies...Landfill scene way too dark and I feel they only put that in to show off the 3D effects....This movie could have been so much better....This was not a fun movie....topics on the surface were aimed at kids but actual topics much deeper....worse than Wall-E.....

Disney does not disappoint. I took two 9 year old boys, and two 11 year old boys, and we all loved the movie. Good clean humor, continuous action and adventure, and as always a great story. At forty years old, I almost cried during this cartoon. My kids have grown up watching the other two movies, and I have grown to love these characters just as much as they have. I don't know of any series that maintained an interesting story and quality characters as this one has. We saw the movie in Disney 3D, and I don't think we missed anything by not upgrading to the IMAX tickets- your choice.

My son and I went and saw "Toy Story 3" on Friday, 06/18/2010. I was prepared for a kids film that would be "ho-hum" for the adults but enjoyed by the younger generations. I was pleasantly surprised to find a film that contained a moral (loyalty among friends), had the usual hero and villan, and at the end brought tears to my eyes as a parent.
It is an excellent family film and one that we will purchase once it is available in stores.

I have a kid going to college and Toy Story (I) was her first movie so we loved it. It is really scary/frightening in some parts so for those of you with sensitive little ones, see it early in the day or screen it perhaps and go to the bathroom at the scary part. Overall, I loved it....the animation is unbelieveable. How they can draw "emotion" like that is truly amazing. Go see it!

It is not often that the third movie in a series lives up to the previous ones. This is not the case with Toy Story 3. My husband and I and my adult teenage kids all loved it. It had some dark moments, but all in all it was superbly written and the graphic detail in 3D is incredible. The new characters were as good as the old ones. A movie everyone should see.
