It's a 3D movie, with a substantial price bump on the tickets. But, on the other hand, it's a sweetly plotted closer to the Toy Story movies, with Andy going to college (and with a nephew and a godson who tracked Toy Story closely in ages, and who graduated HS this year, it's perfect for them, too). No spoilers on the plot here, just straightforward advice: got a kid? Take him there.

I took my kids (4 & 8) to see it on the opening day in 3D. It was great. Kids loved it...not a kid in the entire theater even left their seat. It had a genuine storyline...and was a great progression of the story. Loved it...I would go see it again.

i loved this movie. when my friends and i first heard they were making a third toy story last summer we had already planned to see the midnight showing. it was my first movie i ever saw in 3D and i absolutely loved it. this movie had a great storyline and was hilarious. as we are graduates of the class of 2010, the fact that Andy goes off to college the same time as we do made this movie even more special to me and my friends. ever since i was a kid i have always loved toy story and i completely loved this movie i would definitely see it again.

Our grandsons, ages 6 and 9, loved the movie just as much as the first two.
I thought it was a cute movie. I loved the story line and as a sponsor for a workplace child care, completely understood why the other toys were afraid and shivering under the table.

I took my granddaughters ages 11 and 9 along with my niece and her kids17 and 23. It was awesome and we have already told people to go see it. I loved the 3D and it was all that i expected it to be. We all cried through it and my 17 yr old nephew was the worst. His dad took him to see the first one and he has since passed away. Will probably go see it again.

See for yourself! A movie that truly the WHOLE family can go to and enjoy.
I don't think reviews should be based on 3D or not, it is available either way, but rather on the movie itself, which is spectacular. Pixar continues to "sand the underside of the drawer" and their attention to detail is immaculate.
Clever humor is there to keep the adults entertained, because all most kids need to enjoy this is the basic storyline and the animation. This movie functions on multiple cognitive levels and THAT is why it is great for everyone!
Plus an ending that will leave you tearing and smiling all at the same time and thinking of an excuse to go see it again, and an original and imaginative pre-movie short that we have come to expect and enjoy from Pixar called "Day and Night" that may be the very best one EVER.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Hilarious, heartwarming, and suspenseful- Toy Story 3 did not fail to impress. Althought slightly predictable, the movie was very well done. However, the movie isn't meant for little kids. It's scary at some parts, very scary. Most jokes are too clever for children to understand, also. Overall a VERY good movie. Reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the 3-D, it made it look more realistic... but it was pointless.

The storyline was good and kept my interest. However the trailer had more screen popping 3D effects and Toy Story 3 is def a movie that could have had more screen popping effects .Slinky Dog alone could have popped out and Buzz Lightyear w/ his flying could have popped out more. Paying an extra 3 dollars for glasses was def not worth it. Should just save the money and go see it in it's regular form. Hope they take this advice for more kids movies because kids love that kind of stuff and really so do the adults. I am starting to lose interest in paying 3D prices and will prob start seeing more movies in the non 3D form.

This movie was so expertly done. The whole story line was just terrific. I would have no problem bringing little ones to see this film. There was nothing that would scare them or there is nothing that you would have to explain to them. It was an all around great experience for my family. And my family consists of all adult children. We had a great time. It was my daughter's birthday (29th) and this is what she wanted to do for her family birthday party.

Toy Story 3 did what it set out to do, which wasn't easy: wrap things up with Andy and go on to give the toys new lives and adventures. Kids will like the adventures, though adults should be prepared to hand hold little ones through some scary moments and perhaps explain some life and death issues the toys face which are darker and deeper than in the first two movies. Not a negative, but a warning to families that might have faced some life passages recently and are going to the movies as an escape. And adults--you WILL cry in this one. It's a given.
The 3D was fine, but hardly necessary to enjoying the movie.

Overall, this was an excellent movie. It had a great story line and incorporated all of the characters. It had a very positive and moral ending with double-entendre humor mixed through out (typical of other Toy Story movies for the adults). My grand-kids (2 and 4) were glued to their seats from the opening 3D Disney Trailer's to the snipets during the credits at the end.
My only criticism is that there was too little of the out of screen 3D as opposed to the internal 3D. I suppose this was to prepare it for DVD distribution without 3D.
Other than that, this was an excellent kids movie. The best Toy Story yet (and I really liked the other two a lot)

I loved the final chapter in the Toy Story series! I even got choked up at the end so I think it was a great storyline for all ages. I was however a bit disappointed with the 3D effects. I didn't feel there was much that jumped off the screen so I felt jipped that I paid extra for it. I think I would have enjoyed the movie just the same in 2D.

Just like the prior two movies, this one had drama, comedy (for the young and old), and of course a tearful ending. Many walking out of the theater were wiping away the tears, while smiling and repeating the lines. Almost made the kids want to reset the Buzz Lightyear and hold the button to long.... Only question was, where is Bo Peep?

We were disappointed with the film. Snore. It was very predictable and the 3D was not worth it. NOTHING flew out of the screen. However, I think it is completely suitable for LITTLE kids. We were expecting adult humor like what we got from Shrek and Aladdin... I did not see Toy Story 1 or 2, so had I done so, I would have realized that it was really for children, who in the theatre, were eating it up.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I thought the movie was great and just as good as the other 2. I don't think the 3D was needed for this movie. I think they should make glasses that fit the kids since alot of these 3D movies are for kids. The glasses would not stay on my 3 year old. Other than that my husband andIi loved it and our 3 and 4 year olds loved the movie too.

I did not think the story-line was as good as the second movie, but it was still a great story. The cast of course is back for this third installment. I don't know if paying extra for the 3D was worth it. There did not seem to many scenes where it would have been much different.
This was the second movie I took my daughter to see in the theater. Even though there were some scary parts she enjoyed it and there were some inside jokes for me.
