Another shining example of Pixar's status as THE best (by far) production studio. Toy Story 3 is nothing short of brilliant. My 8 year old son and I (45) saw this together and we both laughed, cheered and cried (in good ways) and were still talkiing about the movie and the emotions it evoked days later. Best movie of the year thus far!!

Thought the movie was great. Just as good as the last two. My 6 year old loved it as much as my 65 year old mother. Very good story. If you are going to see the movie, I would suggest that you not pay extra for the 3-D version. I don't think the 3-D played a big part in this movie.

Took my two grandson's to see it they couldn't wait and enjoyed it very much. I do agree with a previous reviewer that the 3D was not necessary at all it really didn't make any difference in the movie. The price was ourageous for the 3D.

My 4 year old has waited over a year to see this movie and was not disappointed. My husband and I enjoyed it too -- I even cried twice. We especially liked seeing all of the old characters, especially at the end. However, the 3D was not necessary at all. I think they just put it in to get a larger ticket price.

We took our kid to see it - but she's 24 years old. The three of us thought the movie was cute as a bug and had some allegorical elements as well as beautiful visuals. No one was bored, and, if it had been gentle enough not to disturb tots, that could have happened. Two lessons good for kids of any age: 1) life is tough all over; 2) growing old gracefully is hard but it can be done.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I'm now 20 years old, but I enjoyed the movie just as much as I enjoyed the other 2 when I was a kid. Toy Story 3 is funny, filled with action, it was sad, and with any other Pixar film, it contained a great message. Go see it!

Toy Story 3 was great. Go see it, especially if you have seen the first two.
However, one thing to note is that this movie is really targeted to those who saw the previous chapters when they were in theaters. In other words, despite the G rating, this movie is not exactly aimed at kids. Grownup-oriented themes on the scale of contemplating the meaning of existence, self-worth, and the end of life run through the main storyline more so than in the previous installments. Some pivotal scenes press these points intensely which may be unsettling for some... especially when viewed in glorious 3D digital imagery!

We asked our ten year old how she liked the movie... response was "in one word - AWESOME"! My husband and I both really enjoyed it as well. It's got a lot of humor that both kids and adults will really get a kick out of. Lots of laugh-out-loud moments. The only drawback was that our four year old was pretty frightened by a few of the scenes (specifically the landfill scene). Be careful about taking pre-school age kids (you may have them on your lap with eyes shut for a few of the more intense scenes). Consider how they've reacted to similar movies - they may be just fine. Many people have commented on Lotso; we didn't like the Lotso character either, but then, you're not supposed to like the bad guy! I would have liked to see a change of heart or a redemption... but he isn't overly sinister for a kid's movie, not compared to the evil queen/witch in Snow White or any of the other traditional Disney "villains". The 3D was a nice enhancement, and they don't use a ton of gratuitous "in your face" 3D effect stuff. Overall, though, it was a great family movie, one with something for everyone. Definitely recommended!

My girls are 2 and 4 and they both absolutely loved it! We saw the 3D version and they kept their glasses on the entire time and stayed glued to the screen! The adults loved it just as much as the kids! We laughed so hard at all of the Barbie and Ken scenes. Definitely kept your attention and had a great mix of emotions! Great storyline for any kid!!

yes, we laughed, yes we cried - but most of the time we were in a high level of anxiety. the scene at the landfill was WAY over the top and this Lotso character was a mean twist for a teddy bear. i took my 11yr old, her friend - 12yrs and my youngest, 9 and they enjoyed it but said it made they feel uneasy and unsettled and that Lotso was down right scary. the 9yr old needed to use a nightlight to go to sleep and she hasn't asked to use that in AGES!! wouldn't suggest it for anyone younger than my girls. the first installment came out when my oldest was 2 or 3 and that was perfect, but at 11 going on 12 she was really very troubled by it. said she wished that it had been nicer...gentler. i think she was disappointed, i know i was.

We went to the 3D version with some concern that our 3 year old would be afraid. We'd bought a "comic book" version to make sure he knew the story ahead of time. He loved it. This morning he wanted to go see Woody again. I agree that it drags a bit in parts, but overall, very good. Almost any adult would have had some of these toys, and we grownups enjoyed it, too.

They really knocked it out of the park with this one. Just when you think a sequel can't surprise you, this one certainly did. What an incredibly talented team they assembled. The whole bit with the tortilla... well, you just have to see this movie! I would say there was a little too much real peril for my taste. But overall, a fantastic movie.

The movie is a lot of fun. The Disney-Pixar crew was able to come up with a refreshing story that was entertaining and interesting. It is worthwile to see it in 3d. That being said, I think some of the scenes were very strong for a 3 or 4 year old. The starwars like scene at the landfill seem too strong. A different way to work out the plot may have benefitted.

We took our 2 1/2 year old to the movie. She didn't follow the story line but was definitely entertained. The theater was full of small children so don't worry about your kid making a bunch of noise. We saw it in 3D which is fun but not necessary if you don't think your toddler will wear the glasses.
The animation was fantastic and the storyline was adorable.

If you're emotionally attached to the other 2 in this series, be prepared to cry. My daughter hid her face and my jaw dropped at what I thought was the end, but the surprise twist made me cheer! Loved the Barbie & Ken characters! Seeing the movie in 3D is simply amazing, but not a must, as Pixar animation never fails to disappoint me. Can't wait to add this one to our DVD library.
