Hank Azaria's best since Birdcage. Our 4 year old said it was the best movie he's ever seen and my wife and I both enjoyed it.

3 Yr Old's First Movie

We went to the 3D version with some concern that our 3 year old would be afraid. We'd bought a "comic book" version to make sure he knew the story ahead of time. He loved it. This morning he wanted to go see Woody again. I agree that it drags a bit in parts, but overall, very good. Almost any adult would have had some of these toys, and we grownups enjoyed it, too.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
