The build up and talk of Heath's Joker being the best Villian ever was taken with a grain of salt. The flick was enjoyable, splashy, and fun. Maggie Gyllenhaal has performed much better in other roles. Jack Nicholson's joker was far superior. I don't know if there is a top ten ten villian list anywhere; but there is no need to revise it Mr. Ledger.

If ever seeing a movie would be worth 16 bucks, it is this one. Although I will rent or buy this movie when it comes out on DVD, I was happy to pay the same amount to see it in Imax. The visuals were stunning but even more surprising was the complexity of the plot and the characters. Chris Nolan got the most out of his comic book characters.

We had seen The Dark Knight two times in a regular theatre and decided to make the three hour trip to see it one more time in IMAX. It was definitely worth the time and money. The IMAX format took a really great movie and made it unbelievable. Not only was the picture so sharp that you could see every little detail, the sound made you feel the movie as well as hear it. Highly recommended to anyone who wants the ultimate Dark Knight experience.

I thought his movie was excellent. The plot was compelling and the characters believable. This series of Batman tends to follow the darker side of the original comic book series, making it true to the original Batman character. Equally impressive is the director who allowed the viewers imagination to complete the violent death scenes rather than filming it in full glory. Heath Ledger did a fabulous job with the Joker's twisted character and his great make-up certainly added to the twistedness of his character.

All I can say is WOW WOW WOW!! This was so good, and so much fun. And seeing it in IMAX was the best! Bale was great as the Dark Knight. Ledger - let's just say I am deeply saddened that we will not see any more work from such an amazing talent. The last time a bad guy was that interesting was Silence of the Lambs. I could live without Maggie Gyllenhall - sorry GF. The story was solid, effects were great! LOVED IT!!

I looked forward to this movie since the last one came out, and was it ever worth the wait. This was my first IMAX movie so I had no idea what to expect in that sense. It was intense! The sound, the picture... these added to the enormity of the film itself. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves action movies, the Batman franchise, or is just looking for a quality film to mess with your head (in a god way).

I knew this was going to be a great movie. Although a few people said they didn't think it lived up to the "hype" I still kept an open mind. And we've all had it happen before: we psyche ourselves out before seeing a movie that it's going to be the best thing ever, and then we're disappointed. NOT THE CASE HERE! In my opinion, this movie went BEYOND the hype - I don't think the hype even did it justice! The joker's character was just incredible - I loved him! The whole story line, the action, the special effects, the excellent portrayal of characters by Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Maggie Gyllenhaal - it was just all put together to a tee. This was the best movie I've seen in years. See it in IMAX for the full experience!

I felt as if I was the last person in Los Angeles to see this movie and now I know why people have seen this movie multiple times. The movie is riveting from beginning to end and the IMAX experience was top notch. I do not have any complaints except that I wish they would change Bale's Batman vocals a tad. Minutia. The movie is deep and every time I saw the Joker on screen the weight of knowing this Joker will never be seen again becomes heavier. I didn't feel as if I was watching a 2.5 hour long movie and my jaw was dropped the entire time. I thought Robert Downy Jr set the bar for super hero movies of late, but Bale/Ledger easily surpass RDJr. Amazing and this movie will be the reason I purchase a Blu-Ray player. 10. Best of luck to Nolan and crew on #3 as they just set the bar extremely high.

If you don't walk out of this movie thinking that every actor(less Bale's monster lisp as batman) is at the height of their game, I'd be appalled. Also, Nolan's take of the comic series is spot on with it's raw and cold approach. It's an eery reminder of the passing of such a tremendous actor when Ledger, while dangling from a wire, makes a reference to The Joker and Batman being together for ever. This brings a chill as you realize you are seeing one of the best actors of our generation in his final starring work. Overall, an amazing film with a cinematography to match. Oh, and by the way...to the guy who said Ledger was a lock for an "EMMY for sure".....that would be an Oscar nitwit.

This movie goes on much to long and ruins Batman. Batman is a good guy not some conflicted vigilante. Him beating the joker to get a confession is lame and wrong. The joker lives to long and is to much of a superman in this movie. No one would want to work with the joker if all of his men get killed. He has far to much power and influence. The movie is only entertaining if you check your ability to think at the door and forget it when you leave. Christian Bale makes a great Bruce Wayne, not so much a Batman. Heath Ledger made a great Joker for about 90 minutes and then; next! The story line was too choppy and lacked reason. Get to the point! The wrong people died for all the wrong reasons. This group needs to read a real story and watch a play then perhaps they can tell a story. The IMAX experience is wonderful. A lot more movies should use this method.

My husband and I looked forward to seeing this for weeks, finally seeing it in IMAX. Although I very much enjoyed the "hotness factor" of Christian Bale and Heath Ledger's twisted, delightful Joker, we both felt some disappointment as the story had serious loopholes, and the two final twists were ridiculous. The pinnacle fight scene was also edited in a confusing way. It was hard to follow exactly what was going on. Overall the previous Batman was far better, but don't miss Heath Ledger's Joker! Every scene he was in, the movie came alive.

Don't get me wrong. The IMAX experience was fantastic. It was especially evident in the incredible cityscapes and batman flying sequences. Truly breathtaking! The crux of the matter here is that it's OK to do a dark Batman, but not at the cost of losing the Batman concept altogether. No sarcasm, little humor, thin characters, dull and way too long. The incredilbe talent of Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Christian Bale, Gary Oldman( he actually had the meatiest role) and Heath Ledger is lost with a bad script and no chance to really act. Poor Ledger was desperately trying to make something out of his role to no avail. A good action movie needs highs and lows to create excitement and tension. The audience needs to actually care about the characters. Making this comic -book hero totally realistic causes Batman to become flat and unmythologized. But most of all, Batman needs to be fun! It definitely didn't live up to it's prequel. Well, maybe the next one will be better.

I thought the movie itself was excellent! Christian Bale did a fabulous job as usual and Heath Ledger was fantastic as the Joker. I was a bit disappointed with the IMAX experience though. I have been to the IMAX domed theatre several times in the past in Hutchinson and the experience has been surreal, but this showing was like a slightly crisper, bigger theatre version of the movie. Not worrth the extra money.

As many of the reviewers already know this was an excellent film, Chris Nolan's realistic settings bring the fictional characters to life in a believable way. The pacing and timing in the movie are good; you hardly know you have been in the theatre for 2 hours. Additionally the IMAX experience gives you the feeling that you are on Gotham's roof tops along with the caped crusader. This has been the movie Hollywood has been waiting for to save the summer box office and smash the record holders. Holy cash cow Batman!

Perfectly dark. Ledger's Joker is exactly what I look for in a comic villain, and he delivers even better than I expected. Seeing it in IMAX made it all that more intense.

The movie was well done and of course Heath Ledger was the best part of it. I don't normally go for this kind of movie. I prefer a more light hearted type of comedy, but I appreciate how well done this one was done. I would recommend this movie to guys or to friends who go for this type of movie. It just isn't the kind that I really care for. But ovreall, it was a really good moive. Very intense.

I first saw this movie on opening weekend at a "normal" theater and it was great!! But when I saw it in Imax format it was incredible! I enjoyed it a million times more. The sound, the bigger screen made it that much more enjoyable. It was a perfect movie for that enhancement as well, because it has so much action and incredible scenes. I would recommend everyone seeing this movie in Imax first!!

My boys (ages 17, 14, 11) liked, but did not love this movie and they couldn't wait to see it. I regretted not staying home with a good book. Although I found some of the psychological themes intriguing and compelling, the length of the movie and the relentless violence made it less than enjoyable for me. If you enjoy seeing lots of things blow up and watching bad guys menace and threaten innocent people this is a movie you will like - these scenes dominate and overwhelm the interesting theme throughout the movie of Batman's moral and personal struggle with the weight of his role in Gotham and also take away from the potential visual interest of the film.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
