My husband and I both enjoyed this movie. The editing kept the pace moving and I enjoyed seeing previous scenes in fast "flashback" mode. Downey, Law and McAdams are quite capable in their roles and their "devilish good fun" kind of attitude came through nicely. Charming and fun. The relationship between Watson and Holmes reminded me quite a lot of House and Wilson"s (TV show "House). So if you enjoy that element of "House", you'll enjoy the brotherly/challenge/comraderie in this one.
My husband and I looked forward to seeing this for weeks, finally seeing it in IMAX. Although I very much enjoyed the "hotness factor" of Christian Bale and Heath Ledger's twisted, delightful Joker, we both felt some disappointment as the story had serious loopholes, and the two final twists were ridiculous. The pinnacle fight scene was also edited in a confusing way. It was hard to follow exactly what was going on. Overall the previous Batman was far better, but don't miss Heath Ledger's Joker! Every scene he was in, the movie came alive.
This movie was so much fun!! Steve Carrell is so deadpan hilarious and charming I was bursting - no, guffawing - with laughter! Anne Hathaway was terrifically confident as "99" and Alan Arkin makes a good-hearted "Chief". There is definitely enough chemistry and talent here for a #2! (ALERT: Avoid watching previews as they can spoil a lot of the fun bits. I saw one of some length the day I saw the film and so knew what was coming at several different points).
