This movie is as good as it gets, and it is a shining example of what summer movies are all about. The story was top-notch. The story's writers (Nolan and Goyers) did it again with their follow up to 2005's "Batman Begins." This story showed originality, while remaining true to what is (in my opinion) the very best super hero in comic book history. Nolan's masterpiece (and this is the only word that truly describes it) will surprise you by drawing you in and then take you on a ride unlike any other. Everything that has been said about Heath Ledger's performance as "The Joker" are true. Ledger put himself in a class with Jack Nicholson's Joker and Hackman's Lex Luthor in all-time villain performances. And it should be mentioned (because it is overlooked by so many reviews) that the rest of the cast was equally to the task as Ledger. The only difference being that the Joker's role was by the far the most ineresting. It would be nearly impossible to walk out of this film and not like it.

It was good. It was almost like two movies in one - one bad guy taken care of (mostly) and a whole new one pops up. But totally worth the long, drawn out plot. Awesome effects, awesome acting, gorgeous Christian Bale.

This film raises the bar for the standard "super hero movie" genre, but also bends its place there as well. This is more of an epic crime drama, a well-fashioned and executed sprawling tale of urban decay. Of loss. And it's a weighty film, rich in both detail and meaning. And woven tightly throughout, is hope, albeit in glimmers. Nolan and company have created the perfect blend of a sequel to Batman Begins, but also remaining most true to the comic tales The Dark Knight Returns and The Long Halloween.
Also, if you can, see this film in IMAX! It will absolutely blow you away!!

The Dark Knight definitely lived up to the hype. It delivered an upbeat, action-driven, psycological thriller which showcased perfectly the dramatic and eccentric relationship between Batman and the Joker. Heath Ledgers performance was pure genius. He took his character to a level I didn't know even existed. His twisted portrayal was a perfect reflection of the famous comicbook legend. Thihs movie will bring out the comicbook kid in everyone!!!

I have seen this movie 2x, once during a screening on wednesday and then again last night. I must tell you that if you see the movie, tell the theatre to turn up the volume. Once the movie begins you really get enthralled in the film. You get genuinely scared of the joker. Heath Ledger is flawless (and I had apprehensions about him as joker after Jack) but he took it to another level of acting. As usual Bale was amazing as well as all the other actors / actresses.
If anyone is having second thoughts of waiting until this movie comes out on DVD or Bluray I would tell you not to wait because I had trouble not telling my friends some plots twists!!
If you can get IMAX tickets, get them!!!

This movie is great from beginning to end, the director and cast do an amazing job of bringing Batman back to the big screen. Heath Ledger's Joker steals the show, but his colleagues add to this with great performances as well. My husband and I saw this at the midnight showing and it was AMAZING! The action, HEATH LEDGER (Brilliant!), the story played out so well, leaving you on the edge of your seat! We have no complaints....at all!
I wouldnt say its better than Iron Man because its so different. Its dark and creepy (the joker!). But I am so going to see it again!

Nolan's masterpiece transcends the "comic" genre and lands squarely as an almost-realistic crime drama. See this film for Ledger's magnetic performance alone - his Joker is one of the most compelling villains in film history and will be talked about for decades. Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman also deliver powerfully. The film isn't perfect - a little top-heavy on plot, and Bale shouldn't be given tons of dialogue as Batman (the growl grates after a minute or two) - but the minor flaws are insignificant in this magnificent epic. Nolan is the right man to helm the franchise - he gets the dark, intense tone and knows how to make the characters real. Bravo!

A movie that lasted for two and a half hours makes an evening disappear into the night leaving only chilling memories of amazement. This movie is worth every dollar spent on your admission. Bale and Ledger will never see a day without being known as Batman and the Joker ever again. My only regret is that I had only one chance to see the movie for the first time, and that time has come and gone. I envy those of you who read this review, and still have that chance in your pocket."
