The Dark Knight is the best Batman movie to date. Great Storyline, special effects and acting. especially as you've probably heard, Heath Ledger does an incredible job portraying the Joker. Overall good movie, definitely would recommend it and want to see it again!

This movie is a dark, terrifying, thrilling, emotional epic that sucks you in and doesn't let you out. There are no unnecessary scenes to this movie, no break from the relentless darkness that this movie plunges into. Eckhart is brilliant as Harvey Dent, Bale is his usual intense self as Batman and perfect as the carefree Bruce Wayne, and Ledger, well, he terrifies you with every word and move the Joker makes. Ledger's performance is absolutely colossal. He is not so much a character as a force in the movie, as he portrays someone so inhuman that they have no background, no motives, no beliefs other than the insatiable desire to plunge the world into total anarchy and chaos. There is no trace of Ledger in the deranged Joker, and this makes you believe that the purple-suited psychopath on the screen is truly evil incarnate. This movie is beyond great, it's brilliant, and Nolan has achieved something here that no other director has with a superhero movie.

The Dark Knight is a stunning movie. Heath Ledger, as reported, is simply incredible. He will be remembered as the best "Joker" ever...and that is the opinion of a huge "Jack" fan. The movie is long but I did not want it to end. Can't wait for the next one!

Well considering the past Batman movies, other than Batman Begins, The Dark Knight by far is the best one made. It's not just the best Batman movie ever made, but the best comic book movie! Christopher Nolan and his team are geniuses! The acting is outstanding and every actor put their heart and soul into their characters and really made the movie better. Heath Ledger was phenomenal in his role as the Joker and you can tell that he was very dedicated. Christian Bale once again proves that he's the best Bruce Wayne/Batman. Aaron Eckhart plays a great Harvey Dent and even better menacing Two Face. Maggie Gyllenhaal proved that she was a better replacement for Katie Holmes. Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon showed that he can really kick some mafia booty. Michael Caine was great again as Alfred. And Morgan Freeman showed that he could still pull off the genius, Lucious Fox. The effects are amazing and totally old school. Nothing's better than big explosions and awesome gun fights! The movie also reveals some new Bat weapons and vehicles. The Batcycle is definately an awesome new ride. The Batsuit has also made some much needed improvements. All in all, this movie is 2 1/2 hours of pure, solid entertainment. Seeing in the IMAX really made a difference with all the action sequences. It is definately the best film that I have seen in a very, very long time. The Dark Knight should get some Oscar nods. It's hard to imagine how they can top this in the next sequel.

The Dark Knight may be the most hyped up movie in film history, with its viral internet marketing campaign, well received predecessor, and tragic underscore (Heath Ledger died shortly after filming wrapped, making the Dark Knight his final finished performance), but it lives up to--and even exceeds--its daunting expectations. The movie is only a superhero movie at its exterior. Here is film that exists in the vein of Heat, LA Confidential, and the Godfather; not so much Iron Man or X-Men. Its scope is grandiose, but the film delivers. And it delivers stuningly during the scenes shot in IMAX, which account for about a fifth of the film. Not only is this worth seeing, it is worth seeing again after that, and again, and again, and again.

It was very entertaining. It was sort of spooky in a strange way. Ledger totally consumed the Joker role. So much so that he seem to channel a evil presence right onto the screen. The interaction between Eckert and Bale was particularly effective.

Not only was it the best movie among a year of amazing superhero movies, this movie, this movie, just like Batman Begins showed why the Dark Knight's life can be overly complex with the darkness that surrounds the atmosphere of a city like Gotham. A scene stealing and complete makeover role of the Joker by the late Heath Ledger showed his commitment to a sinister character. This movie by far was the best one yet. It brought everything to the table and did not let me down. It was a great movie that was well acted and very well planned. It was full of suspense and all actors brought their A-game. Christane Bale was and is by far the best Batman to date, and Heath Ledger blew Jack Nicholsons Joker out of the water. Two-Face was also more in depth than the other version in batman and robin. Jack Nicholson played a great joker but that version of the joker was laughable, heath ledgers performance was maniacal if not down right scary. He made the Joker a believeable character and one that you could see being real and being an absolute lunatic. Overall the best movie this year if not this decade.

This is not only the best superhero action movie ever made to date, it transcends genre to tell an even more important story of morality and the struggles of the every day man as well as those who would guide them. to start i bought my tickets with the online credit card do-hickey. very conveniant cuz i didnt have to deal with a long line of angered idiots (including my mother who would not shut up about every little inconveniance cuz she just doesnt know how to enjoy herself and im deeply sorry to all employees of the theatre). so we skipped on line and ended up having two more to go. so we waited in line for 20 minutes after waiting in line for the consessions.smart of us to dfo it first since now all we had to do was get in the theatre and sit our butts down. but the drawback is we had to carry the drinks and popcorn for idk an hour? about 15 minutes into waiting in line suddenly the fire alarm went off and we had to all go out side in the hot matine sun.i felt so bad for the employees trying to get everyone out because everyone was yelling and complaining and ignoring what they had to say. ok after all that and the arival of my movie partner (if you will *wink*) me and him entered the theatre with our gameboys and waited not too much longer. i was very impressed by one of the previews for the watchmen movie and kinda baffled as to why there was a harry potter trailer with absolutely no footage of any kind. just the title and some music. then the movie starts. i loved how even the begining had a huge twist. christopher nolan could really teach mr m night shablabalabalababalaga or what ever his name is. all the original charactors and more importantly all but one actress (didnt like her anyway) return as phenominal as ever. cristian bale was great even if his batman voice does sound like satan with a cold. gorden was again a well played charactor as you also get to see more of his family and his daughter barbera who as fans know is very important. a cameo from the scarecrow comes along though i dont think it was him in the plot you still get to see the likeness thus slightly recaping the movie. i was so afraid this movie would be over looked by the death of heath ledger. however this movie is perfect for his legacy as when you watch it you kinda forget hes dead. either way his performance as such a legendary villain was phenominal. i always thought jack nikolsons joker was clasic and mark hamil gave a most beloved and protected performance in the animated series. heath ledger got it right which mad me and my fellow comic buffs in the theatre give a sigh of releive when we saw his antics. well acted also was the part of harvey two face. whom was always one of the more intresting villains to me. not my favorite but i always found the charactor very enjoyable to learn about. though i do not like at all what they did with the charactor in this movie. very well acted awesome makeup (though looked oddly like the terminater) but the ending of this charactors part in the story was so unsatisfying i actually had to squeeze my friends hand out of anger. though i must say in spiderman 3 we all waited the whole movie to see venom. and venom was in the movie for not long at all. it was more like a freakin cameo. luckily while it did take two face just as long to even begin to apear in the dark knight he managed to make up for his absense and made a huge impact on the story in that small amount of movie time. on that note how ever i jumped for joy as to the events surrounding the charactor of rachel. i never liked either the actresses or the charactor for that matter since in the comics batman has never really been steady with one girl. hes not lucky enough. but i was very satisfied where she ended up in the plot by the end. the end of batman begins was kinda corny introducing the signal and all. so the slightly grim ending was really fresh for a comic movies standards. of course about every standard to a comic book movie was surpassed in this movie. it managed to be fantastic and foreignly placed in an seemingly unreachable reality with out being campy and stupid. in fact it was a very gritty and real aproach to two very recognizable villains. the ending opened for a third movie which i have to say i now would welcom. if they were to surpass the quality of this film then you would have a perfect series of films. the effects were dazling the acting incredible the twists were intresting and the plot was acceptable. there were sooooo many issues i had with certain charactors charactors by the end. i was very skepticle and being such a fan of comic books prevented me from enjoying this film as a film. as a movie i would rate it with a thousand over ten but since it is a movie based on plot surrounding such beloved charactors its harder on me. had haeth not passed on, the joker wouldve been in fine hands but now im worried that if they need the charactor later in a movie it will be subpar to heaths performance thus dooming said future movie. sure heath was not perfect for the joker. but he was the closest so far. so despite my skeptisism im actually giving this film high scores. not perfect scores because of the whole twoface plot in the end p!$$!ng me off so bad but i was impressed. so long as the series does not do what the previous movie series did and change directors and actors all around. i would say we can expect great things to come.

Having looked forward to seeing this movie for so long, I had very high expectations. It exceeded all of them. Yes, Heath Ledger's performance is jaw dropping, but even more importantly, all of the other performances (except for Gyllenhal) are incredibly real and nuanced. I saw an IMAX print, and if you can see it that way, I recommend it. 35 minutes of the movie are in IMAX, but I promise that you will not find the transitions disturbing--in fact, my husband didn't even notice them at all. The IMAX scenes are vibrant, showing awesome depth and detail across wide cityscapes and giving you a 'you are there' sense of immersion. And, in an IMAX theatre, there really are no bad seats, even far to one side. Besides, what's more 'wow, did you just see that!?' than seeing an exciting action sequence/explosion? Seeing it on a six story screen, of course!

Go see this movie you will be glad you did. Althought please spend the extra money to see it in IMAX, it is the best experience. Heath Ledger is awesome as the Joker. He pertrays him the way he is supposed to be, both funny and oh so serious. Batman is also played yet again, very well by Christian Bale. Even all the rest of the characters are pertrayed to perfection. The movie was extremely action packed and worth more then a one time watch deal. Go watch it again and again, I know I will.

It is pretty rare that a movie hyped up this much actually comes anywhere near living up to the hype. Heath Ledger's performance was nothing short of amazing. You could vaguely tell it was him behind the makeup, but his character was so believable that you forget it was Ledger, he disappeared into the role that much. Overall the story was both darker and more positive than the last, showing the depths the human soul can sink to, while also showing how good we can all be. Bale again nails the part of Batman. He is so good in the role that he has re-defined Batman to an entire new generation. Aaron Eckhart has been singled out as a slightly weak point in the film as Harvey Dent, but I think he played both sides perfectly. Even the action sequences are better than most we've seen from any other movie, including a phenomenal chase scene. Anyone wondering if this one is as good as people are saying, it really is that good. Side Note: Kids under 10 might be a little scared with this one. It is considerably more violent than any other Batman films, including some riveting scenes with the Joker and Harvey Two-Face.

This is probably the first Comic based movie that I would consider award worthy. I know the hype about Ledger, and it is well deserved. But this movie goes beyond just his acting.
I don't want to give away anything, so I will simply state that when you think the story line and acting has reached its peak it will suprise you by reaching a whole new level.

The Dark Knight has taken the average superhero movie to a new level. This was an actual film not a anything goes because its hollywood. This was a realilty felt film. Heath Ledger performance is one to remember for years. I didn't not think he was up to the part when they annouced him as the new Joker but boy was I wrong about that. His performance alone is worth going to see this film, but also it has a great cast, excellent story, and was shot beautifully. I don't wanna give much so I'm keeping short. The IMAX made the film so amazing so its worth the few extra bucks. Go see this film or be a stick in the mudd. Either way i'm going to see it again. RIP Heath Ledger.

So far this year, this is the best movie - visually stunning, great soundtrack, amazing performances by Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. I only hope this movies stays in the hollywood "memory" long enough this year to make it to the Oscar nominations

This is by far the best BATMAN movie ever, and quiet possibly the best superhero film ever made. I was stunned by the joker, the story, and all of the great effects. Everything looked so real and was even better at the IMAX. I can't wait to go see it again, and again, and maybe even again!

I saw this in IMAX and have to say: if you can see it in IMAX, do it. Nothing can compare. I had a wonderful time. There is so much story here, it's like reading classical literature. It was paced perfectly and just when you thought it was over...BOOM something else happened. Was Nolan doing a little Joker himself. And about the Joker...from the moment Heath Ledger enters the film, it's his movie and rightfully so. Batman has always been as much about the villains as the DK himself. Ledger walks that fine edge between extreme insanity and camp and pulls it off perfectly. Even dressed as a nurse, he's hilarious but so dark. But let's not forget the rest of the cast. Christian Bale is still the perfect Bruce/Bat and once again anchors this franchise firmly and completely controlled. Aaron Eckhart may have found his breakthrough and he is great. How they did the Two Face side is still beyond me. I'm dying to know. Maggie Gyllenhal makes you forget what's her name was ever involved. Finally Gary Oldman is properly used and what a performance. Michael Caine as always is perfect and the same can be said of Morgan Freeman What Nolan has done is up the ante for all other movies from this point on. This is more than a superhero film this is a richly layered story that asks all the right questions even if we don't like the answers. Thought the film is dark and examines man at his worst, it also shows man at his best, most noble and self-sacrificial. GO SEE THIS FILM and find an IMAX!!

This movie will leave you thrilled and speachless at the same time. We all love the action, and there was plenty of it; more bat gadgets, butt kicking and explosions galore... But I love the cinamatography more than anything. The play between the structure of the police and Batman, and the chaos of the Joker and the mob was epic. The score was perfect, but one of the most expressive scenes was just the Joker riding in a car and complete silence.I am very glad Katie Holmes was replaced with Maggie Gyllenhaal, she adds much more depth and personality to Rachels character. Heath was of course perfect, and while watching th movie you feel as if he's alive again. The creation of Dent as Two Face was raw and angry. The only thing I would have liked was more story with the character of Batman, he was a little quiet in this one. You must see this movie more than once.

This movie was awesome and was alot better than the first movie and the acting was phenomenal. ..Heath Ledgers performance as the joker was perfect he was dark and comical at times....i think he will be remembered for the performance and sad to see that he will not be able to reprise his role cause it was great and the movie was top notch....
