Well considering the past Batman movies, other than Batman Begins, The Dark Knight by far is the best one made. It's not just the best Batman movie ever made, but the best comic book movie! Christopher Nolan and his team are geniuses! The acting is outstanding and every actor put their heart and soul into their characters and really made the movie better. Heath Ledger was phenomenal in his role as the Joker and you can tell that he was very dedicated. Christian Bale once again proves that he's the best Bruce Wayne/Batman. Aaron Eckhart plays a great Harvey Dent and even better menacing Two Face. Maggie Gyllenhaal proved that she was a better replacement for Katie Holmes. Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon showed that he can really kick some mafia booty. Michael Caine was great again as Alfred. And Morgan Freeman showed that he could still pull off the genius, Lucious Fox.
The effects are amazing and totally old school. Nothing's better than big explosions and awesome gun fights!
The movie also reveals some new Bat weapons and vehicles. The Batcycle is definately an awesome new ride. The Batsuit has also made some much needed improvements.
All in all, this movie is 2 1/2 hours of pure, solid entertainment. Seeing in the IMAX really made a difference with all the action sequences. It is definately the best film that I have seen in a very, very long time. The Dark Knight should get some Oscar nods. It's hard to imagine how they can top this in the next sequel.
