The Dark Knight is an exceptional piece of film. IT IS THE MUST SEE FOR 2008. The entire cast is exceptional. However, Heath Ledger absolutely steals this movie. What a performance!!! The effects are top knotch, especially on the IMAX format. The plot is engrossing. I was not expecting to be so involved in the story, especially since I am not a big comic book fan! Overall, one of the best movies I have ever seen.

I did not think this movie could possibly live up to all the hype surrounding it, but I have to admit it did.Heath Ledger does indeed pull off a brilliant portrayal of The Joker which I don't think could be surpassed. This movie was so well put together from beginning to end. What a great ride. Heath Ledger played the Joker to a new level. Christian Bale is the best Batman, ever! Christopher Nolan has done it again. I think he surpassed his masterpiece of Batman Begins, and has further solidified his place in Batman history. Thank you to him for making us further forget about the mockery that Joel Schumaker made of the series when he put his colorful, bat suit nipple spin on it. Ledger shines, and steals the show as a darker, more sadistic Joker. I really didn't think he'd be able to touch Nicholson's 1989 portrayal of the Crime Prince of Gotham. Ledger was very much up to par with the great actors who have donned the purple suit and white make up over the years. Bale, once again, does a great job of bringing the Dark Knight to life. Though I thought he tried a little bit too hard with the Batman voice, he is still, in my opinion, up to par with Michael Keaton's effort. Bravo also goes to Gary Oldman as Lt./Commissioner Gordon. He was even better in this movie than in Batman Begins. Kudos goes out to everyone involved in this film. All of the actors turned in very good performances (even though I'm not quite sold on Maggie Gylenhall as Rachel Dawes, but I wasn't sold on Katie Holmes either). There's action, suspense, drama, and comedy all rolled into a two and a half our masterpiece. I saw it twice opening weekend and can't wait for the DVD so I can see the extras. A movie for the ages...even if you're not a Batman fan, you will still enjoy this movie.

This film definitely sets a new bar for bringing a superhero movie down to earth, so that it feels like something that everyone can relate with and get in to. I am a Batman fan as well as a Heath Ledger fan; and while I thought that the movie was pretty good, I didn't feel that it was Oscar-worthy or moving or any of the other things that so many people have said about it. The IMAX experience was pretty awesome, the special effects were great, the acting was great, the storyline was great; however, it's far from being the greatest movie ever and the hype was definitely overblown. I would still recommend that others see it, but I wouldn't tell them to expect to see the best movie ever or to see the greatest performance ever from Heath Ledger like many are claiming. He was a great actor and it's a shame that he died so early, but I would have to say that Brokeback Mountain was his best work, not The Dark Night.

I knew this was going to be a great Batman movie, but it exceeded my expectations. The acting was incredible across the board! Ledger really was a great Joker. Better than Nicholson? I wouldn't necessarily say that, although I would say his portrayal is very different and equally as good. They are both great in their own rights. SEE THIS MOVIE. Also, the giant IMAX screen really gives an immersive experience. Sit near the back though, because the front seats will cause neck cramps from turning your head to see whats going on. ;)

Overall it was very overhyped. A good movie, not a great movie. and certainly much longer than it needed to be. There were times it felt stale and boring during the talking scenes between Bruce Wayne/Harvey Dent/ Rachel Dawes but certainly it picked up steam during the appreciated and rare non-CGI action sequences that were explosive and original to say the least. Heath Ledger created a unique and demented version of the Joker that certainly stood out among screen villians but Oscar worthy? Christian Bale is good at keeping the serious look on his face but I was looking to be more emotionally involved in his character than I was. Great movies usually have you thinking about them long after you left the theater and analyzing them in your mind, good ones like this give you brief periods of thrill that you soon forget and find yourself thinking about the next super-hero movie on it's way. Watchmen anyone?

I am not a huge fan of the Batman movies but I enjoyed this one very much! I saw it in Imax and I would recommend it to anyone! It made the movie so much better seeing it on that big screen and hearing the amazing sound! Heath ledger really out did himself with this one! I loved, Loved, Loved this movie, but the IMAX in Olathe,Kansas want out 3 times, we could hear sound, no picture, picture but with graphic being displayed in front of it. They were really not on top of it, and this had happened the showing before too!!!! But overall the story was great, Heath played a great joker and the make up was fantastic. Can't wait to go see it again!!!
