I am a Batman fan as well as a Heath Ledger fan; and while I thought that the movie was pretty good, I didn't feel that it was Oscar-worthy or moving or any of the other things that so many people have said about it. The IMAX experience was pretty awesome, the special effects were great, the acting was great, the storyline was great; however, it's far from being the greatest movie ever and the hype was definitely overblown. I would still recommend that others see it, but I wouldn't tell them to expect to see the best movie ever or to see the greatest performance ever from Heath Ledger like many are claiming. He was a great actor and it's a shame that he died so early, but I would have to say that Brokeback Mountain was his best work, not The Dark Night.
