The plot is somewhat predictable, but the imagery and dialog make it entertaining. Several funny parts and didn't slow down too bad. The 3D wasn't exactly awe-inspiring, but it was better than other recent 3D attempts. Decent movie and I would recommend it for a family outing.
I was hesitant to see this film simply because the last one sucked so horribly, but it was in 3D and I figured I would give it a chance. It started out kinda slow, and dragged a bit until the main plot line started. The main plot was decent, although all of the animation studios using the same facial setup for the villains is getting a bit old. Overall I would say that it's just ok, nothing to go out of your way to see. The only real portion that utilized the 3D capabilities was entirely too short and could have been pushed into more of the movie than it was. Kids who are already inducted into the Shrek franchise will be fine with it, but it won't wow anyone.
This movie isn't your father's Star Trek, but a reasonable facsimile. It ties together all of the original characters, in a new way, though some of the changes might leave the hardcore trekkies a bit miffed. Overall it's a good movie, decent action sequences, good dialogue, good acting and enough humor to make it fun without being ridiculous.
This film definitely sets a new bar for bringing a superhero movie down to earth, so that it feels like something that everyone can relate with and get in to. The wasn't so much a batman movie as it was a Joker movie and that is what made this such a success. I definitely see posthumous Oscar potential for Heath Ledger.
The "Genre" listed for this movie is dead-on, it's definitely a drama with some decent action sequences filled in. The acting was good, but it would have been better with at least 1 more fight/action scene. The lack of a complete origin back-story leaves something to be desired, but opens up the possibility of a sequel to fill in the blanks. Overall a good movie.
Since this is what they are calling a "reboot" of the Hulk origin movie from a couple of years ago, I would say they improved the plot and storyline a lot. Edward Norton was a convincing Bruce Banner but Liv Tyler was a bit stale in the Betsy Ross role, could have used more than the blank stare and doe-eye look . William Hurt as General Ross was a little on the boring side, needed a little more feeling in his acting and role, his love for his daughter when he needed to show it was rather flat. The animation was better and the overall size was more believable. It definitely had better action and more of it throughout, while the intro scene leading up to the first appearance was still a little long in tooth, but far better than the first one. Overall, great movie.
