In the history of movies there have been defining moments in cinema that have and will continue to stand the test of time. In every genre, be it drama, sci-fi, animation or anything else, there are those collaborations that come together that make an impact and the genre is somehow changed or evolved from that moment on. This Batman makes such an impact. This Batman definitely raises the bar and makes all those that came before it just history. Since the Micheal Keaton 'Batman', it has been a process of evolution and de-evolution, but this Batman marks new and definitive territory. This movie has it all; a solid story, compelling drama, character development, pacing, action, etc. Everyone involved with this picture really brought their 'A' game. If you have to see any movie this year make sure this one is at the top of your list. As a matter of fact, see it twice. And by the way, this is the one you don't wait to see until the dvd comes out. This is one movie that commands your time and presence in front of the big screen for the complete experience. Everyone will find something enjoyable about this movie. It doesn't disappoint. And maybe the best comic book adaptation as well. This is a film that will appeal to all audiences and must be viewed through the Imax experience to be truly appreciated. The night exteriors are breathtaking in Imax. The cast is great and the 2.5 hours speed by. Once things get going it's a roller coaster ride the whole time.

My wife and I saw The Dark Knight in IMAX and were blown away by the movie. The movie had action, but not too much to turn off some fans and a lot of good drama and great acting that can pull in a totally different audience. It was absolutely amazing to me of the fine acting job that Heath Ledger did in his portrayal of the Joker. The amount of chaos that he created during the movie was astounding and it really seemed that he was dangerous. Although the movie is about 2.5 hours in length it didn't seem that long at all and that is another huge plus. I would have to rank this movie up there with the best movies of all time, no matter the genre.

Wow, watching it on IMAX was phenomenal. There were so many amazing action scenes crystal clear & brilliantly orchestrated with exhilarating sound effects. I've seen this move twice; once on IMAX and once at a regular screen. The IMAX Experience is definitely better than your standard movie experience. The images of the movie were more detailed than on a regular screen. The sound was completely engrossing and made any slow areas moot. Obviously Heath Ledger's Joker is phenomenal and whenever there is a Joker scene I sat in amazement. I didn't like Christian Bales voice when he donned the mask. But otherwise the film was enjoyable

See it in the IMAX version if you can. The large screen makes you believe that you are actually on the top of skyscrapers looking down on the city below. In addition to being visually stunning, this movie has amazing surround sound that will rattle through your bones. As far as the story, it is not the same old superficial comic book fluff that we see every summer. It has a complexity to it that is usually reserved for the dramas released in the fall and winter. Heath Ledger is amazing in every respect as the Joker. Notice how he uses his tongue and mouth as he speaks (what else would you expect from a psycho with a scarred mouth). Very creepy and sinister performance, but also intelligent and restrained. The Dark Knight is a great way to spend 2 1/2 hours. Well worth the time and money.

The film will easily go down in history as the greatest comic based action movie of all time, but that would rob it from its place among the greatest films of all time. While the movie is based off Batman, by no means is this your everyday comic book movie. The Dark Knight is nothing short of a complete masterpiece. I watched the movie twice (once in a regular theater, and once in IMAX). And the Movie was even better the second time around. This is an incredibly deep movie on all scales. From production to story. Watching the movie for the second time just helps you absorb everything and really appreciate what has been created. I'm not gonna talk about all performances, except, of course Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger's interpretation of the Joker is officially the best movie villain I have ever seen. Yes even better than Darth Vader. Why? Because Anakin was actually a positive character in the beginning, and in the Return of the Jedi he also ended on a positive note. Darth Vader was under the control of the Emperor. The Joker is not answering to anyone. The Joker does exactly what the Joker wants to do and whenever the Joker wants to do it. He's not being influenced by anyone but his inner thoughts and emotions. Its one thing to be evil when someone is influencing you, but its a whole different thing when your inner thoughts and emotions want you to disperse Chaos. When I first heard of Ledger playing the Joker, I thought "WTF???". Heath Ledger? The Joker? Umm Yeah, I was Wrong. He breathes life and death into this character and it shows. Every time he's on screen you wanna do nothing but sit there and listen to his every word and look at his mannerisms. From the iconic Joker laugh to the newly added licking of the lips. Heath Ledger deserves an Oscar and its a shame that he isn't around anymore to give us anymore performances like this. In Summary.. Heath Ledger has made it impossible for anyone to play the character of The Joker again. The Dark Knight is not only the best superhero movie ever, but also one of the greatest movies to ever be made. Yeah thats a bold statement, but this is a bold movie. It raises the bar so high on what you expect from cinema. 5 out of 5 stars. Watch it once to enjoy, watch it twice to appreciate.

The Dark Knight is a brooding spectacle that transcend storybook telling and entertainment. It is a scathingly honest and brutal depiction of man's dark side and our ability to lose sight of morality and justice in the face of pain, suffering, greed and loss. My husband and I are both very much into the superhero thing. Setting that aside this was still and excellent movie. Two hours and thirty minutes flew by. There was never a moment where I thought "geez..is this ever gonna be over?" It has everything; action,plot, and great acting. Don't take small kids to this film. It is very intense and it isn't fair to your kids or the other movie goers. That was the only problem that I had ...too many people brought small kids.

The movie was made great more by Heath's performance than Christian Bale's. I think as Batman he tried to over act a bit. It was a great movie however. It's a little long but definently a must see. My biggest complaint was the IMAX I went to had a dirty lens.

After coming out of The Dark Knight IMAX. You cant help but wonder if when you exit the cinema the world around you will be in ruins. This film is so hard to describe all I can say is see it for yourself.

I was lucky enough to see this awesome movie in the regular theater at 12:01 am on opening day. That was great...but seeing it again in the IMAX was an experience I would recommend to everyone! The sound was more spectacular and screen is soooo big I was completely taken away in the movie. This movie was the greatest out of ALL the Batman movies. Bale and Ledger are the perfect Batman and Joker, you can actually feel the struggle between them. I left this movie saying "Keaton and Nicholson ..Who?" With the amazing action and the perfected insanity this movie is a MUST see.

How does one begin to describe The Dark Knight IMAX Experience without starting out saying, "WHOA!" Wonderfully directed with stellar cinematography. The wide angle cityscape shots make you feel like you're actually flying over Gotham, thanks to IMAX. Heath Ledger will forever be remembered as a great actor, but his part in this movie as the Joker will place him in line for immortality. Christopher Nolan has definitely given Tim Burton a run for his money with his two Batman films. (I can't believe I even just said that.)

This was an excellent movie. Well developed characters, plenty of tension between the younger characters, and a fine balance between Bruce Wayne and his butler, Michael Caine. The district attorney's makeup at the end of the movie was hard to watch, but the other "scare" visuals were pretty tame. Loved the action scenes. The photographic values were superb....the Chicago (?) skyline was beautiful, and the costuming fantastic. The music was not as potent as Zimmer's score for the Pirates movies, but it wove itself around the story quite well. More atmospheric rather than stand alone. All in all a great job!
