There were two things that kept me from giving Dark Knight a fifth star: First was the length of the film. I love long movies but this one seemed a tad too long. I guess it was the repeated scenes of mayhem and clown masks and disposable cops. Secondly and more importantly, the continuity of the wonderfully dark theme was often interrupted by a more traditional hollywood comic book take. The non-Joker villains, for example, were uncomfortably shallow and corny in comparison to the feel of the rest of the film. This film suffered from scriptzophrenia.
With that said, the movie was very entertaining. The visuals were terrific. The music was engaging. Love that Joker theme! The acting was top notch, especially Ledger (of course) and Aaron Eckhart really surprised me with his performance. Very well done. All in all, a very good film.

This movie is so intense. You need to buy snack before the movie. Once movie start, you will loose value for money if you leave the hall. Batman and Joker were awesome and Commissioner Gorden was great presence in the movie. Technically, the movie is flawless. You have to decide if you want to understand the storyline or watch the graphics. I want to watch this move few more times.

Loved every minute of this movie. Joker was outstanding. Loved his character. Batman was nothing but the best. Ledger did an amazing job in this movie, and that does not come from sympathy at all. If oscar was in his future, here was his chance. Only thing I didn't like was the unreality of Dent's two-face. Not buying the whole mouth-open, no eye-lid extravaganza they tried to throw in the film and still let the guy walk around and talk...sorry, but isn't the whole point of Batman suppose to be a "realistic"(per-say) super hero movie? ....just saying.

I was afraid to see this movie after how amazing Batman Begins was. I was a fan of the older Tim Burton Batman movies, but I had high hopes for Batman Begins to be even better and it was so good that I was actually afraid that I would be terribly disappointed with The Dark Knight in comparison, but it actually blew me away!! I brought two of my children to see the movie. Usually a movie that has been given so much press is disappointing when you see it. This is not the case of this movie. It was great. My children loved it. They were 10 and 13.

Don't go to any other theater! The IMAX Experience for this movie is the only way to go! In between scenes, they give you the "birds-eye view" of Gotham City...you truly get the "birds-eye view"....You feel like your flying! Brilliant movie! I saw this movie twice in one week: once in a regular theater and once in iMax. I never do that. That's how much I liked this movie. It plays out like a crime drama more than a superhero movie, grabbing you from the very beginning and never letting you go. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker is amazing as is everyone else from Christian Bale to Aaron Eckhart. The story weaves back and forth making you think you think you know what's happening and who's in charge, but then someone will pull an ace from their sleeve. It is brilliance from beginning to end!

First off, I had high expectations for this movie and I don't think it necessarily let me down. There are a few things I don't agree with. This movie is filmed in Chicago - those who have not been to Chicago - can still recognize the skyline. Gotham City is not Chicago. It is a fictitious city, and I wish they depicted it as such rather than a real life movie. Also, there are a few areas where the character development were fuzzy and incomplete - with one character who did not contribute to the plot enough to waste 20 minutes on.
Overall, great film and kept me entertained.

I really liked Batman Returns. I thought the story was great and Christian Bale did a great job. I liked the original Batman with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson but I thought the other 2 after that were a joke. Batman Returns took this franchise into a different direction, one more serious and less cartoonish. The Dark Knight continues that trend and I thought was a great movie. Great story, excellent acting, great action. Heath Ledger was truly great. He will be greatly missed. I hope the next one is as good.

Went to see this at the Imax yesterday, and was completely blown away. I loved the first Batman film, but in comparison this is so much better. The action moves at break-neck speed from the opening bank heist to the rooftop finale, this is one hell of a ride. An exceptionally strong cast delivers, and Heath Ledger delivers a performance of disturbing charm and charisma which truly embodies the attraction of the Joker. The cinematography of Hong Kong and Chicago is breathe taking, especially on the IMAX screen and the plot builds great momentum for the final showdown. But what truly lifts this film is the script and dialogue, which intelligently dissects the meaning of a hero. This is a film to enjoy on so many different levels, a true sign of a masterpiece!!!!

We love the movie !! It was action the entrire time and the story is also great. The acting was outstanding, Heath ledger was spectacular and Bale never disapoint he is awesome! very nice that it was used another person for Rachel role but still a weak character to be the batman women.

Dark Knight was psychotic, fractured brilliance! The excruciating wait was completely worth it and in IMAX, oh yeah. My hopes were stratospheric after all the buzz and positive reviews, but the movie busted through and went ever higher. The completely adorable Heath Ledger commanded my attention the first time I saw him (10 Things I Hate About You), but I never imagined something like this. Ledger made The Joker what he was always supposed to be - sociopathic, disturbing, strangely funny, and absolutely mesmerizing - which makes it harder to watch knowing he's gone. When you're reminded of the sheer depth of his talent, lost so soon, it breaks your heart all over again. Damn...Oscar-worthy indeed. The rest of the cast was also great, but my attention was firmly on The Joker, as it should have been. No one should miss Dark Knight. Some say that it's "violence for the sake of violence," but that's what the unpredictable and merciless Joker is all about. And Batman is all about stopping that relentless evil.

There was so much action and good acting that I didn't want the movie to end. If I could afford it I would watch the movie over and over. oh! and best Joker ever! :D

the movie was absolutely amazing! it was worth paying the extra couple of bucks to see it in the IMAX. if you don't see it on the IMAX then you are not getting the full experience. i would definately recommend it to others! Heath Ledger was absolutely amazing as the Joker! Christian Bale was an o.k. Batman. I think that i don't like him as much just because im so use to the 90s batman movies! overall it was great and i would definately go see it again and will most definately buy it!

I have seen this movie three times in the past week, and each time it did get bettter and better. There were little things I was able to pick up on that we missed in the excitement the first time I saw it. The first 2 times I saw it, it was on a regular screen, but on the IMAX screen it made all of the difference. The action sceens were more intense, the emotional scenes of more value, the whole movie just seemed well but together. When the camera panned the big cities during the night and day it ws breathtaking and somehow reminded you of something you'd see at a science museum IMAX theatre. All in all, this is one of the best movies I have seen in a while and the IMAX experience just raised the bar even higher for other movies to follow it.;
