Well the IMAX is certainly an experience and the Dark Knight should really only be seen in this type of a theater so that you can get the full experience of what Nolan has created. Depending on your seat, it truly feels like a damn good rollercoaster ride!

This movie was awesome! Half way through the movie (I thought it was over) I was wondering what all the hoopla was about because it seemed like your run of the mill batman movie but then when I realized it wasn't even half way over yet I realized my ill premature judgement. It was a great experience and was my first time to see a movie in an IMAX theater so that doubled the pleasure! The ending leads me to believe there will be a sequel - can't wait til then!

For the first time ever outside the comic books, The Joker is actually portrayed as a violent sociopath rather than a silly prankster. Ledger deserves a Best Actor nomination. This movie is incredibly dark and thought-provoking. Had the current Administration presented its rationales for the "War on Terror" as effectively as the film does, there might have actually been some well-reasoned debate. This was the first film in years that, when walking out of the theater, I immediately wanted to turn around and go see it again right away. My only quibble is that Bale's Batman voice can be a little grating at times. If that's the only flaw in a 2.5 hour movie, I'd have to call it excellent.

My husband and I saw The Dark Knight on the IMAX screen. The movie exceeded our expectations. It was exactly the type of movie that is worth paying a little more for tickets to experience it on the huge IMAX screen! Heath Ledger has created his own Joker character - completely different and unique than what I was expecting (versus Jack Nicholson and Cesar Ramero). I would highly recommend it, but be aware of a lot of violence - this is not your typical cheeky comic book story made into another movie. The only negative - there were times we both had difficulty hearing the characters speaking over the loud background noise.

Make sure you see it in IMAX first. It kicked a**! They shot only 30 minutes with IMAX 70mm cameras but it sure was worth it. Make sure you try to sit in the middle and a little further back than you would sit in a regular 35mm theater. I enjoyed the movie in every aspect. The studio is going to have a hard time filling in another joker. Heath Ledger was incredible..... Christian Bale was solid. Make sure you see it on the big screen!!!!!

The Dark Knight is easily one of the best movies of this year. It was a tad long but undersatndable if you know the true history of Batman. I recommend seeing this movie on IMAX as I did. I think it is the only way to go for a movie of this magnitude. I am a harsh critic of movies but this movie delivered on action, acting, and special effects. Acting was top notch and Mr. Ledger does deserve and Academy Award nod for his perfomance. Go see it and yes you can bring your lady to this one as well fellas.

This movie was so highly anticipated that it would have been hard to match the hype...however, it delivered the intensity promised by the marketing, and stayed true to the source material. Everyone is lauding Heath Ledger's disturbing portrayal of the Joker, with good reason. Too bad the Academy seldom gives awards to these type of movies. Aaron Eckhardt's rendering of Two Face was outstanding as well, just the right balance of smariness and slickness. Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman deliver strong performances as well, as does Christian Bale. Visually, as well done as I have seen in years. Anyone who questions the dark tone of the film should 1) check out the graphic novel from which it springs, and 2) look at the movie's title. Destined to be a classic, as well as a recordbreaker (already) in it's genre.

/Focusing strictly on The Dark Knight (The IMAX experience), I was somewhat disappointed, but this was mainly due to seating. I imagine the full IMAX experience would be better when not seated in in the front row, far corner. The opening shot, and subsequent city shots, make the experience. //Looking at the Dark Knight (story, plot, characters), CN and company have done a fantastic job at preserving the idea of batman. The actors all look and feel like their characters. Nothing seems out of place. *the same actor who plays scarecrow is back* The Joker, the staple of the movie, is portrayed well by the actor (a genuine reinterpretation that pays respect to the past jokers). ///As superhero movies go, DC's Dark Knight is high above the rest (V for Vendetta being the highest to date). The reasons for this is that these movies provide much more than the typical "Last Action Hero" stunts and explosions. It provides a mental element. These films invoke thought rather than piling on visual effects. They encourage one to feel something beyond violence and bring you into the characters cause, make you feel a character's motivation. ////Now some downsides, although few, were Rachel Dawes (the actor's delivery seemed too scripted and take the form of the typical female love interest instead of being the character), the Bale Bat voice (towards the end, it seemed to be inappropriately used and stressed much more than any other part in that film (I made note to recognize the intensity of the voice by Bale at other times during the film); however, it might be appropriate considering the tag line), CGI (This is more of a preference issues. I'm not the biggest fan of CGI, and I thought makeup would have been used for two-face instead of CGI. Although looking back on Tommy Lee Jones' Two-face that did use makeup, this might have been a necessary.) /////In sum, if you like batman for being a detective, watch this. If you like dark elements in movies, watch this. If you like explosions and actions, plot twists, and rich stories, watch this. If you like anything, watch this movie. It is one of the best superhero films to date.

OMG! This movie was so PHENOMENAL that I can't find any other words to even describe it other than PHENOMENAL! :-) Christian Bale brought the fire out of Batman like no other and Heath Ledger (Rest his soul!) should definitely get a Oscar Nom for this even if they hate on him and don't GIVE him the Oscar. He played the Joker better than Jack Nicholson and I thought I'd NEVER say that. A true Batman fan here that says if you don't see this movie you will regret it once it's on DVD. You'll miss all the menacing special effects.

The movie was definitely an experience on the IMAX screen. It was a tad long however, each time I wanted the movie to end something gripping happened keeping me interested and entertained. "The Dark Knight" is definitely the "darkest" of all of the previous films thanks to the incredible performance by the late Heath Ledger. I have always been a fan of the Nicholson version of the Joker so this movie had a huge personal bias to overcome in order to get my approval...and it did that and more. Yes, the movie is 2 1/2 hours which is alot for some but you are kept entertained throughout the entire movie (and definite entertainment value for those tired of watching 90 minute cookie cutter comedies for $11.00 who are not fans of the caped crusader). Everyone did an excellent job and one can only hope that everyone (including producers and writers) signs back on for the next chapter. IMAX comment: I bypassed dozens of local theatres and drove 20+ miles to see the IMAX version/experience which I would definitely recommend for those of you that have the opportunity to do so. Yes, the tickets cost more and gas prices are not so favorable right now but if you are going to do something...do it right...its well worth it!

Watch it in IMAX there is no comparison. Its the third time I watch it and wil see it a few more. It can't be compared to the other Batman movies its on a league of its own. The movie is great enterntainment and you just can't get enough of the Joker.

Fans of the comic were most pleased, while non-readers were somewhat dissatisfied with the ending, not understanding the inherent darkness of the books. Excellent Movie! Best Batman movie to date!! Health Ledger was amazing, his best performance! Its such a shame we wont be able to see him as the Joker again.
Jack Nicholson played a great Joker too however the two roles (and the two movies for that matter) are so polar opposite that there is no way to even compare.
I highly recommend anyone see this! Whether your a Batman fan or not!

I was completely captivated by Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker. He takes us along into the psyche of this insane character. Action packed, and entertaining, I'd actually see it again.

Ledger's Joker is chilling. I truly believed he was capable of anything. The Two-Face makeup was incredible. My only complaint is that some of the action sequences were too damn fast for these old eyes... especially when there's a LOT of screen to cover!!

Fantastic! Work of art. Dark, exciting, excellent portrayal of the Joker (too bad for K Ledger). Saw it in IMAX. Very entertaining.

I thought this movie was amazing!!! I saw it on an IMAX screen and i think it made the movie appeal so much better. I thought Heath Ledger was definitley the best joker ever! It was a movie that I will defintiley watch again! Christian Bale was good too but I did think that his deep voice was alittle much LOL. All in all an awesome movie!

After seeing this movie in Imax there really is no other way to view it. I had already seen it before, but this is a different experience. The sound is incredible, it had me shaking. The opening scene is really just a blast and I cannot stop raving about incredible this movie is.

I went to see this movie with much excitement - I mean "Batman Begins" brought this franchise back to life and everyone was raving about the performances in this movie! I did enjoy the movie, but I have to admit I think that "Batman Begins" is a better movie. While this is good and the acting is excellent, it didn't have that feeling of newness, that "you'll pay for the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge!" feeling that the other did. I'll definitely buy the DVD when it's released so that I have both, but I probably won't watch it quite as often as I watch "Batman Begins".
