Hands down, The Dark Night was the most incredible IMAX movieI have ever seen. To say that it is simply a movie doesnt do it justice. It is truly an experience. The IMAX scenes literally make you feel as if you are in the movie. My girlfriend grabbed on to my arm at least 4 times...I'm glad she did because I thought that I was going to have to! Nothing beats Ledger's haunting 6-story tall face on the screen. Absolutely bone chilling.

This was my first IMAX experience, and I will not go to a regular theater again unless the movie I want to see is not available in IMAX. The picture quality was amazing compared to regular movies, never mind the expanded view! This movie was also excellent. Heath Ledger was the star! Too bad he died. They will have to find someone else to play the Joker in future releases, and I think Heath Ledger set the bar to an unobtainable high. Aaron Eckhart was great as expected. Christian Bale's performance was sub-par, but still the best Batman ever. Maggie Gyllenhaal wouldn't have been my pick as a replacement for the role of Rachel Dawes, but she did a fine job. Gary Odlman's accent comes out in one scene where he yelling, other than that he's all New York and excellent. I will own this movie on blu-ray (I'm going to have to buy a blu-ray player now).

If you are looking for classic Heath, you will not get it. The Joker does not look or sound like Heath. What a wonderful job immersing himself into a role. He is not the only great actor in this movie. It is filled with numerous gems of actors. This is an action movie with a bit of a dark tone and a message to it.
I would not take a child under twelve to this movie because it is intense and bloody. Also remember to bring your ear plugs because it is extremely loud.

We were so excited to see this movie and it didn't disappoint. The casting was good except for Maggie Glyenhall- very strange looking girl, especially on IMAX. I am thrilled with Christian Bale as Batman and sad that Heath ledger won't be able to reprise the role. I am usually VERY critical about movies, but I was truly able to watch without seeing plot holes everywhere. It was amazing visually and the story seemed very fluid. All-in-all, very entertaining!

The dark knight was a hit in my book for a few reasons, good acting, good effects and lets not forget the joker ! Heath Ledger played the most amazing joker. Dare I say better than Jack ? Jack fit with Tim Burton's comic book vision, but for Christopher Nolan he needed a more serious joker. Along with joker came Harvey Dent, the remake of the background to Harvey Dent shed a little more light when Batman Forever did not really go. I believe the way that Dent become Two Face in this movie makes much more sense than the acid being thrown at him. All in all it is a great movie worth seeing over and over. Two Thumbs way up !

I saw The Dark Knight in a "regular" theater on its release date and loved it. However, I saw it in IMAX over the weekend and I can tell you that there is no comparison! The movie was so much better the second time around. The whole cast and the effects were amazing!

Try not to sit in the first few rows because you're going to be wide eyed as it is...The scenes of carnage and destruction jumped out of the screen, and I had to check a few times to be sure my mouth was closed! Same as everyone, I loved almost everything about this movie including Ledger's performance and the Joker character itself, the IMAX was definitely the way to see it, but.....Am I the only one who thinks Bale's voice as the Batman is a little much? Whenever you hear Batman speak, the voice is just a little much. I can understand you maybe want the voice to be a little different (deeper, darker, etc) but like I said, it was a little much for my taste and actually took away from the performance. Other than that, great story, great flick!!!

This was a very good adaption of a comic book character. However, it was not the best. Heath Ledger's performance nailed many of the character traits of the Joker. But Batman seemed more two-dimensional this time around. Batman is supposed to be a great detective, but it seemed like he was more interested in Bond-like gadgets than criminalistics or criminal psychology. Visually, Two-Face nailed it, but seemed a bit cliche near the end. Harvey did not argue with himself and I thought he was too ready with flipping his coin to determine a person's fate. Was it worth seeing in IMAX? Yes. Was it a good movie? Yes. But it certainly wasn't a great movie.

The story line was awesome. The Joker was everything i expected x10. I love the way batman's voice changed when he went from Bruce to Batman.The IMAX was good but i think i would have enjoyed the movie as much on a regular screen. Wasn't very scary a few friends had said it was scary to the point of night mares. I didn't think so. The special affects should also be mentioned at oscar time, with Heath Ledger and Christian Bale. A must see.

The Dark Knight is an excellent movie, even for those who don't like superhero movies. Seeing the movie on an IMAX screen is highly recommended, though not needed. Having seen this movie on a regular screen and an IMAX screen I can say for sure, that it is better on IMAX. The one thing I don't like is that I cannot see Nolan having the Joker in any more movies. Heath did such an excellent job with that role, I just can't see anyone else pulling it off like he was able to. Definitely my favorite Batman that I have seen, which I have seen all of (including the the 1966 one with Adam West) except Batman and Robin and the animated ones.

Although this movie was definitely entertaining, I felt deceived when I walked into the theatre. The theatre is only debatably IMAX... to me it just felt like a very large screen. I thought it was the type of screen that encompassed the theatre. This was just a very very large version of a standard theatre screen. Although I did feel the difference it made during some parts of the theatre... I was VERY dissapointed with what the "IMAX" truly was.

Yep. everything the other reviewers have said and more. This was my second time watching it. My first time was at a regular movie theater. The Imax experience is all that and more. Does Heath Ledger deserve at least a nomination for an acadamey award? YES.

This movie was AWESOME!!!!!!!! EVERY MOVIE should be shown in IMAX! I would tell everyone who likes the BATMAN character to see this movie. And Heath Ledger what a shame he's dead kuz I would have loved to have seen a sequel with him as the JOKER! GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!

This movie is a prime example of hype and mass hysteria. Although Heath Ledger's performance was very good, the movie itelf made little sense. I did not understand the Joker's motivation at all, nor could I understand his success. Batman himself was little more than a cardboard cutout, and the movie overall was too dark, and too full of itself to take seriously. It was an entertaining movie, and I certainly would recommend it as an action picture.

The recent movies could not capture the mood of the comic books till this one. Heath Ledger totally stole the movie, and if he was still alive, the public outcry for "The Joker Returns" would have given him leverage to do anything for any price that he wanted. Morgan Freeman turned in an honorable performance (as always). If possible, see it IMAX. You'll be glad you did!
