If you don't mind poor acting and a story-line that doesn't flow, then you'll love this movie. Honestly, it seemed more like a highlight reel than a movie, except that many of the highlights from the book were changed or left out. The music didn't fit the scene most of the time. None of the Cullens seemed like they had been around for more than 25 years; they didn't at all reflect the decades or centuries that they had been around. Kristen Stewart's performance was completely unbelievable (as in not believable; see the hospital scene). Charlie was the only character in the movie who deliviered a great performance and stayed true to the character in the book. The cinematography was great, but the movie itself, not so much.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I have read all the books and am a huge fan of the books, I felt the movie was a little thin but stayed to the highlights of the book. I think for another 35 minutes the movie would have been OUTSTANDING had they commited the extra time. I can honestly say I hope they never stop making the twilight book sieries into movies. Its wonderful to see so vividly the characters come to life.

i have see so many movies that were based off of books. And I have to say that this is the first movie that was so closely related to the book that it amazed me. I could actually sit next next to my husband and actually tell him what part of the book the movie was at.

It was okay. The effects were kinda lame. You get what you can afford, I guess. You need to have read the book to understand the plot completely. They left a lot for the audience to assume. The acting was what I expected from a movie about teenagers, featuring teenagers.
I am optimistic about the second film.

I loved it! The chemistry between the two main characters was amazing. I saw it twice in 24 hours. It was great seeing the characters I'd only imagined come to life. I will gladly go see it again.

I thought that this movie was pretty good, but based on the books not so much. As someone who has read the books, i feel that they rushed the love story too much. In the books, Edward takes weeks just to be able to work up the strength to sit by Bella, not to mention touch her. I know they were trying to make the movie run for a resonable length of time, but i think tha drawing out the plot a little and giving their relationship time to develop wouldn't hve hurt anything. I still would recommened this movie but i don't think it deserves more then 4 stars.

If you are a fan of the Twilight book series, you will love this movie. The movie follows the book, however, you do not need to read the book in order to enjoy this movie. The movie was suitable for my 11 year old niece, who is also a fan of the books; which I was very pleased she could go and enjoy. I hope the remainer of the movies in this series are also suitable for young girls.

I loved Twilight! I've read all the books and was so looking forward to this movie, and it came through for me. I thought the casting was excellent. The characters actually looked how I pictured them, esepcially Edward and Alice. The cinematography was lovely too. Edward and Bella also had the chemistry that is sooooo essential to this story. Go see it, it's enjoyable, great acting, and full really beautiful men!

I was pleasantly surprised after reading some surly reviews for this movie. It was neither as hokey nor as cheesy as I expected it to be. I thought the casting was EXCELLENT and so was the book-to-screen adaptation. There were only a couple of pitfalls (some straight-from-the-book dialogue that was put in silly places) but the rest was great. Unlike many people who reviewed the midnight showing, I do not thing the special effects (or lack thereof) are a deterrent. This is a LOW BUDGET film. They didn't have hundreds of millions of dollars to give to ILM to make the running, climbing or fight sequences look any better. I wish people would lighten up about that (did no one see Star Wars: A New Hope in it's original form?).

I would recommend the movie to a friend but if that friend had read all four books in one month like I had, I would also tell them not to expect too much. Like everyone else I didn't expect the movie to follow the book verbatim and understand money and time issues but come on. The movie was enjoyable but I'm glad I didn't get my hopes too high.

Both my daughter and I loved it so much, that we saw it twice in one day, and we'll go see it again. We loved it! Can't get enough of EDWARD!!! We will be waiting patiently for the other books to make it to the big screen. It has to happen - you can't just leave us with this one movie. We didn't want it to end.

I love vampire movies. The director should win an oscar. I love movies where actors show passion and feelings without having too much dialogue. And as true to form-- the Vamps were overwrought with emotions which i Love. The only negative was the father- the actor and character was flat as a cardboard-- everybody and everything in the movie was incredible.
Not having read the books, Yes it makes you want to go out and read the series.

Twilight was awesome! So well done! It absolutely makes a difference if you read the books before seeing the movie though, the little foreshadowing hints all make sense. The Cullens could not have been cast more perfectly, they were all amazing!!!! And Robert Pattinson absolutely shined (literally!) he nailed the complicated character of Edward right on the head! I'll definitely be seeing it again and again! Can't wait for the sequels!!!!

I went with my 13-year-old because she loves the books. Not having read any of the series, I went in with no expectations as to what I would see. I enjoyed it immensely. However, if you're seeing this movie because you're looking for horror movie vampires, you'll be disappointed. This movie is mainly a love story between a girl and a boy that just happens to be a vampire.

I loved the books and completely fell in love with Edward. I am a 33yr old mother of three and am not ashamed to say I love this series. The movie did a good job of hitting the major parts of the book. I think that some parts of the movie were a bit cheesy and low budget. The characters selected were a good choice. I would definitely watch this movie again.

Would recommend but wish that they spent more time on Bella & Edward getting to know one another. Felt very rushed and you don't really get the feeling that they could live without one another which is a key point.

Whenever a movie is made about a book. It is a "known fact" that the movie will never compare to the book. With that in mind I look for the movie to be "true to the feeling of the book". Twilight stood up to the test. The cast was well done and Robert Pattinson lived up to a difficult challenge of embodying the most sought after vampire in modern times. Kristen Stewart also played Bella with astounding accuracy. The movie was perfectly done (in my estimation) with the exception of the baseball game. That was a disappointment, but otherwise, a perfect 10. It will be nice in sequels to see a bigger budget for special effects so that the special effects can support the fabulous acting. Well-done Pattinson & Stewart!

This movie was AMAZING! well acted by all the actors/actresses! They brought the characters to life! Robert Pattinson conveyed Edward's inner turmoil PHENOMENALLY! I plan to go see Twilight many more times. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! a must see for anyone who has read the series.

This was an amazing movie. The first time i was so excited to see the characters because they fit so perfectly in the movie. Everyone was screaming in the theater but i was so excited i was screaming too. I saw it the next day again and i thought it was even better the 2nd time. I actually got to enjoy the movie wihtout all the excitment that had been there the first time i saw it. I really cant wait for the next movie!

The wait is over and I was absolutely, hands down pleased. I saw it twice in one day. I read the books just out of curiosity on the hype and soon found that I was just as obsessed as the rest. I was not let down with the movie. I have to admit I was a little skepticle about Rob playing Edward but that is out the window. He is absolutly beautiful and everything I expected from the books. Actually all the characters were.

The movie from the very beginning was not at all what i thought it would be. The only reason it's making money is because it's already got such a huge fanbase including myself. There was lots of pressure for it to hold true to the books and this was below par.

..but good enough to watch again. Teenage kids loved it. It's supposed to be a dramatic story but a few of the scenes were so "over acted" that much of the audience laughed. Good choice for the actors, can't wait to see the other actor's character's explored in greater depth.
