I was extremely disappointed. Not in the quality of the movie, but in the fact that they left out so many important events. The movie was fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I just thought that they could have gotten the movie a bit closer to the book. It is one of my favorite movies, and I will probably end up seeing it multiple times, but I have to say that I will always compare it to the book. All in all, the book was a thousand times better than the movie.

There were scenes from the book, but it definitely did not follow the book. It left a lot of details out and took some of the quotes out of context. My husband had not read the book, and he felt it was a good movie. My daughter and I were disappointed.

Well overall I guess it was pretty good. I'm a little torn though, I was expecting more. I read through all four books and comparing the movie to the book, it kind of falls short. There are too many things I feel that were left out. And some things changed that weren't necessary. I know they only have so much time, but I feel it could have been better. Saying that, if I had never read the book I probably would have thought more highly of the movie. It's good though. I'll be waiting for the second and third. I plan on seeing them when they come out as well.

Saw twilight, Fri.21, at 10:15p.m. I went with my best friend, and cousin. We are huge twilight fans! We've read all 4 books! The movie and the book are totally different, I felt they left out a lot of info. The movie, to us was more a comedy, then a love story. People who don't read the book before seeing the movie, I think will enjoy it more, then the fans who have read the book. And yes, I agree, the movie could have been longer!

though we would all hope that the book would be the script for the movie, but its not. the one thing you have to live for is Edward! it really is a good movie... don;t get too picky about the scenes it'll ruin the movie for you! just look at the Cullens and enjoy

I really enjoyed the movie version of Twilight. Most of the characters were true to the book. I was told by some that they rushed Bella and Edward, but I didn't think it was. I wish Bella could have had more interaction with the other high school kids like she did in the book.

This is possibly one of the worst movies ever, filled with some of the worst actors ever to ruin a story. The script was dreadful and did no justice to the gripping novel on which it was based. My sister and I were beyond excited to see it on opening day having read the entire series, but I cannot begin to describe our disappointment with this film. The screenplay is a disaster from start to finish and the so-called special effects were a joke. Important scenes from the book were deleted and unnecessary nonsense was added. Too bad - this story had real potential to be a terrifc movie.

In my view i believe twlight was amazing but the book was wayyy better. i mean that by saying you create your own picture in your mind and you might think differently. i would totally go see it again and yes im going to buy it when it comes out and so on. i would reccommend this to friends because its a great movie that if you understand fully it will be very good. i love the relationship between bella and edward although when new moon comes out i hate when edward has to leave. Jacob Black. There are two words in the english language i absolutly hate. yea i hear these people saying aw they are so cute together and team jacob this and that but come on people get with the program shes gonna be with edward.

Having known nothing about the twilight, I thought it was pretty good. The acting was up to par, the action was great, the graphics were believable. The only downside is that the script was sometimes cheesy, but they tried to play it off with humor which worked about half the time. Worth seeing for sure, just don't go in with incredibly high expectations.

The movie cut out a TON of the book, but of course movies are limited to 2 hours so we knew this would happen. The acting needs some work, but I bet the next movie will be better. GREAT movie if you don't expect all the detail of the book - the love story is still there and you will fall in love with Edward all over again! I went with my mom, my sister, and my daughter - and we all loved it!

Our teenage girls12,14,16 are all reading the books and told dad, 44 that he would like it too..they were right, it had just enough action to make even the dads like it :) We have recommended it to everyone asking how it was.

Characters and essence of story are spot on.

OK, so I was afraid this would just be for teens and that it would be too sticky sweet and too overly dramatic for me, but this was well developed and the casting was outstanding. I would have loved to see more character development of Edward's family (especially Alice and Jasper, who looked constipated instead of challenged by Bella's humanness) but overall, it was a terrific movie and a fantastic soundtrack. I plan to see it again and eventually add it to my DVD collection.

This movie tried to follow the book and it succeeded for the most part. It was a really good movie. Some of the characters looked differently than I had pictured them from the book so that made it strange, but it just had such a sweet little, love story theme, I soon forgot about that. It was a sweet movie, not like most of the movies today with swear words and sex and violence. I took a 13 year old to see it and it was very appropriate for her. I hope there are more to follow based on the other books.

I love the intimate feel of the closeups they used i felt like i was right there. It stayed true to the book and i felt it was very well written and the direction was awesome. When it was over i bought another ticket and went to the next showing. I plan on going back a least 2 more times. This movie was everything i had hoped for and i can't wait for New Moon. All the actors Vampires, Humans and Werewolves brought their talent and were all superb. You Rock!!

Every teenage girl's dream. Well in line with the book. I didn't like that Edward was so visibly disturbed trying to control himself. He was stronger in the book. I thought the casting of Esme and Rosalie was off. They are supposed to be the pinnacle of beauty be they looked a bit less than that. Excellent foundation for the following books. Lacked balance between love story and action /excitement. Future movie will increase excitement though. Two thumbs up. Worth the money.

i never read the book but my girlfriend did and she loves the series..so i bought tickets for it for midnight... i think it was a one time watch movie...but my girl says that the book was better than the movie...it was a little corny at parts...i hated the way he sparkled in the sun...the acting of edward was kind of corny also...other than that i thought the movie was good cant wait till they make another one on the other books...

Overall I really enjoyed the film there was some beautiful art direction -Some of the filming wasn't great. Romantic scenes became borderline cheesy with the combination of filming and music. Some the speed action was done more in the "crouching tiger.." style and I am not sure it worked in this film. The overall movie was great and some scenes incredible like the baseball game. I enjoyed it much more seeing it the second time and knowing what to expect. Acting was great lots of chemistry.
I think those who haven't read the book would still enjoy the movie. My husband who didn't like the book really enjoyed the movie because he was "spared listening to her thoughts about how beautiful Edward was." So guys would like it too.

It was what you would expect, but I'd have to say some of the production was bit off. If the company had more money for the special effects and score, this could have been a movie that reached more than its already established base. As it is, I think fans will be happy with it and be excited for the 2nd movie which might get more funding.

The movie definitely hit it's target demographic. If you go in remembering that this is a film for young adults, you'll have no complaints. I thought it captured the idea of young romance pretty well, but you don't get to see the development of that love. I felt like Bella fell for Edward overnight. That's not love, that's a crush.
The casting of Edward was right on the mark. He's gorgeous and charismatic on screen. The casting of Bella was a little harder for me to accept. All in all, I would definitely see it again.

the 1st time i watched it, i thought it was good, but i kept thinking about the differences between it & the book. the 2nd time i saw it, however, it was soo much better. now i basically love the movie (still not as much as the book) but it was a lot easier to watch knowing what would and wouldn't be in the movie.
