Edward:captured perfectly,each of the Cullens/Hales entrances (especiallyinto the cafeteria) were mysterious,(Dr. Cullen's was awesome!)like in the book.There was a majorscene shown towards beginning of movie,that I felt made a great ending tothe book itself.But as true with all movies basedon books,some scenes need to be sacrificed and the director did an excellent job at choosing which to cut out.Bella missed few small details that were in the book, but one understood Bella'scharacter.Charlie:not like I imagined at all,not in a bad way entirely.The movie was incredible viewers whom didn't read the book understood the plot, Bella herself, Edward, and the suspense/the "first love" story.As for vampire effects, added scenes: heart-pounding!

I had my doubts about how this movie would be - its hard to make a movie out of such a great book - but they definitely pulled it off! The movie was fantastic, and Robert Pattinson is gorgeous!!!

I have not read the book, and was able to judge this move purely on it's cinematic values (or lack thereof), without expectations or comparisons to the book, plot and characters. The hype was pretty major, as was my anticipation. What a sobering reminder of how empty hype can be! It was, from first to last, a slow, plodding and cerebral exercise in manufactured and completely unconvincing teenage angst, with little relevance to vampirism. Weak and melodramatic performances compounded by ridiculously amateurish make-up make for a very much regretted $9.50. The one saving cinematic grace is the vistas of mountains and valleys of the Pacific Northwest, which I could just as easily and more economically enjoyed from my HD NatGeo channel.

I thought that Twilight was really good compared to what they had to work with. I mean if you think about it, the book was like awesome, and to make a movie that good would be a natural phenomenon. Overall, they got most of the things right, the only things that I thought was a little edgy was that in the book Bella and Edward were like completly in love, and then in the movie, it was just kind of akward between them. But besides that, it was really good.

It is good movie and it does not really follow the book much. End is different from the book. Romance between Bella and Edward is not the way I want see- need more. Good movie and wish sound was louder. Good movie to see anyway, it wake you up easily and excited you much.

OMG! I thought it was horrible! I knew that the movie would not be as good as the book but come on. It did not come even close to expressing the love between Edward and Bella. Some parts were ok but most of it was bad acting and bad casting. I really pray that if they continue on that they will replace bella (Kristen) I thought she was horrible!!!!!

If i walked in cold, i probably would have not liked the movie - not very vampirish. Having read the books I understood the love story. They did a great job at covering the bases of the book, I loved Alice and Jasper but what is with Rosalie? She is supposed to be the most beautiful creature and well, she was just OK.
Oh, i will still go see parts 2-4.

This was the best movie I have ever seen!!! The books were all so amazing, and honestly, I thought the movie was just as good! And that means that with a larger budget, New Moon should be even better! (I know, hard to imagine, right?) But this movie was seriously the best thing since sliced bread...oh what am I talking about?! I'd give up sliced bread any day for this movie! In fact, I think I'd give up my left arm to watch it again right now lol! Oh and if you haven't read the books yet, READ THEM!!! You will definately not be sorry!

I am 32 year old mother of three. My eleven and thirteen year old daughters turned me on to the books. After the first chapter of Twilight...I was totally hooked! We could hardly wait for the movie. I was not disappointed and am now eagerly anticipating New Moon. (I squealed when I read the confirmation on Summit's website) Rob & Kristen are great as Edward & Bella . The Cullen family was masterfully chosen as well. Overall..the movie was beautiful and haunting. (A perfect combination if you ask me) I would definitely recommend the movie and encourage everyone to pick up the books as well.

I am totally hooked on Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, via my 12-year old daughter. I knew the movie couldn't truly do the book justice, however I was very happy to see they followed the book much better than past hollywood movies.
The biggest shortcoming of the movie was not devoting a bit more "screen time" to the developing love between Edward and Bella. The special effects were not as good as they could be, but I am sure that was totally due to BUDGETS. I am so looking forward to seeing "New Moon" as a movie. I am sure the budget will be significantly larger, but keep the same actors. Overall, I would highly recommend this movie to all fans of Edward & Bella. Great Job!

Well I'd say the direction of the movie was ok, and the story line, stayed as true as it possible could to the book, but some scenes between Bella and Edward seem forced rather than awkward which it was meant to be in the book, which makes me doubt on Kristen Stwert's ability to act, there were a few funny scenes and I loved that, but there were scenes that weren't meant to be funny at all and end up being, which is kind of sad...The added scenes for the bad vampires were uncalled for, Jessica did a great job as a jealous bubbly friend of Bella, and so did Angela, Mike and Eric were awesome.

I went to the movie knowing that it would be different from the book - they always are. But....Meyer must have been around during the filming. So much of her vision was in this movie, even with the changes. I recommend reading the book and watching the movie. Seeing the relationship develop on the screen was enhanced by knowing how much the characters loved eachother. I cannot wait for the sequel!

I would have to say that although I enjoyed watching the movie and would watch again, I was dissapointed as well. The movie had disjointed parts that if you had not read the book you woud not understand what was going on. Scenes could have been left out such as james and his group killing people and that time could have been spent filling in other parts that needed explanation. I recommend you see the movie , but read the book first.

No movie is ever as good as the book, and this one is no exception. But, aside from the outdated-looking special effects and the drawn-out tweenish drama scenes, it was good. I liked that the storyline was so true to the book. I wish there had been more focus on the Cullen family and Jacob since they are such huge characters in the series.

For the most part this movie was done very well. They didn't leave out any important parts. They may not have done everything exactly the same as the book but they did include every scenario. For people who have read the book and see it I recommend seeing it twice. The first time you'll be sure to over analyze. But the second time you're free to just enjoy.

I brought my daughter to the midnight premier.
We both loved all the books. I was disappointed in the cheesy special effects.
Hopefully, more money will be spent for the next movie. Compared to HPotter, this looked like the work of kindergarteners. Also, the two main characters need some acting lessons before the next film. Robert Pattinson overacted and Kristin Stewart underacted -like a cardboard cut-out. Although, when she said she wasn't afraid, she did look rather terrified. The movie lacked character development and the screenplay needed lots of work. On the whole, there was too much staring and not enough dialogue. The book was witty and funny. The movie was mostly angst. This movie needed work.

The movie is never the same as the book...however, leaving major turning points and critical portions out of the movie ruins the effect completely and if they are planning on making more films there is A LOT of backpedeling to do. I was extremely disappointed with what the did with the movie. Completely ruined the book and the wonderful job Ms. Meyers did writing it. Doubt I'll waste 2 hours watching it a 2nd time, or even waste time on the next film.

I'm a 26 year old girl who took her 13 year old sister to go see this movie. I hadn't even heard the hype when she read the books, and told me they were AMAZING. After finishing the books, we went to go see it. It was great! My sister, like all the other teens (and adults) out there is infatuated with Rob Patttinson's Character (hence my nickname on here.) It was cute to hear the collective squeals when he graced the screen with his presence. I definitely would recommend seeing it. I cannot wait for the sequels!

Love, love, loved it! This is a great film I can't wait for the next one! I took my boyfriend to see it with me. He hadn't read the book, but he still thought it was amazing. There are parts of the movie that are hard to understand if you haven't read the book but it doesn't take away from understanding the story line. I would definetly reccomend reading the book before hitting the theater, that way you can truely appreciate the movie. Robert Pattinson plays an amazing Edward. Im sure all the fans of Twilight have no complaints watching him for 2 hours;)

As a teacher I have read the book numerous times, for pleasure for discussion, etc. I was worried that the movie wouldn't hold any weight when compared to the book. I was wrong, the movie was amazing and follows the book pretty closely.

I never read the book and I loved it. My wife has read the series and she love it as well and thought the casting was perfect from Bella and Edward. This is a great movie about teenage love and not filled with ronch and pointless love scenes.

This was a very enjoyable, great movie, the 2 hours just flew buy and makes you want more. Of course, you can't put everything in a novel in a two hour movie but, it was a great introduction to the characters in the series!
