I have read all four books and some of Midnight Sun online, and a have read twilight twice right before the movie. the movie is definately no comparison to how amazing the book was but it was still my all time favorite movie! They got all the characters just right! I cannot wait for New Moon to come out. I'll definately be the first person to see it if it's half as good as Twilight was.

the movie was overall just okay. the actors were a little too intense sometimes, i couldn't help but laugh. The movie was a lot of close ups on poeple staring at each other. so much staring... The special effects.... well they were bad. any kid with photoshop could create the same effects of edward running.
It was a good movie, but it probably would have been better if the girl (bella) would breathe thru her nose once in a while. (honestly, she didn't shut her mouth the entire movie). GUYS, YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE! total chick flick.

Twilight was better than I had hoped.... superb! I very much enjoyed how they stuck true to the book despite missing some of the better details. Overall a fantastic movie that gives you the same exact butterflies as the book! :)

Books are always better than the movie.
I was hoping the movie would pull off the 'special intense relationship between Bella and Edward, but if I hadn't read the book, I would not have got that from the movie. They played it like a regular high school crush. I thought Kristen Stewart did a fine job, Rob Pattinson is gorgeous but needs to work on some acting skills. He wasn't horrible but not great. I liked the rest of the cast and hope they are more developed in future movies.

I absolutley love 'TWILIGHT'!!!!!!! It was just sooo amazing!!! I loved every moment of it!!! I went back to the theaters afterward to watch the same movie twice!!!!! It is absolutley amazing and i would totally recommend this movie!!!!

Positives: 1) Youthful movie with a multi-ethnic cast. 2) Fast paced. 3) Scenes with sensuality were tasteful and had appropriate chemistry between the actors.
Negatives: 1) The character and relationship development present in the book were missing. 2) Some key scenes and conversations from the book were truncated and if a viewer has NOT read the book, they may feel confused or lost. 3) Major overacting and questionable casting of actors.

Twilight was an awesome movie, especially since I am a total fan and have read the first 3 books of the Twilight series. The way Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson portray Bella and Edward is perfect and the love they share is beautiful. With that said, I do think that the make-up artistry for the film, could have been a bit better, particularily on three of the Cullen family. Overall, the movie was fabulous! I can't wait to see New Moon on the screen next year!

Loved it! I will see it at least once more. I really can't wait to see how they handle New Moon. The emotional stress will be hard to portray on screen. I laughed and I cried at Twilight. Now I'm reading it again!

I love the book and I know that is hard to transcribe a book to screen so I wasn't expecting a re-creation exactly. I personally really enjoyed the movie. I thought all of the characters were well cast (except for Nikki Reed) and they all had great chemistry. I have since seen the movie two more times and it gets better with each viewing. But to really enjoy it you have to of read the book. My only issues were that: I feel like the whole movie was rushed and the special FX were less than impressive. Also, I wasn't very happy with the Phoenix scenes so obviously not filmed in Phoenix, being a native myself. Overall, I like it and am looking forward to the next one.

i thought it captured all the important moments in the book, even if some of the settings were changed. also, for those who werent happy, the expectations were so SKY HIGH nothing would have been PERFECT. but i do think that twilight was an exceptional movie, with a very well picked cast and GREAT acting and special effects!

I thought that for a brief 2-hour long movie, that they got it pretty close to the book! I liked the actors they cast for Edward, Bella, Bella's Father, Billy, Jacob, and the "bad vampires". The scenery, lighting, makeup was all pretty believable, even though some of the special effects led to laughter in the theater. Well done and now I want to read the book.... again!

I am one of many fans of the Twilight Saga, I love the series. The movie adaptation was better than I had thought. Like most movie adaptations, I was expecting it to be somewhat of a disappointment, missing major plot points and dragging down the series. The movie stuck with the story, omitting some elements, characters, and events in the storyline that gave clarity to another movie, if made. Though with missing pieces, the actors were picked very close to the book characters, and they depicted the scenes very well. With added humor and some somewhat awkward moments made between actors, the movie made me happy with the way they adapted from Meyer's great book.

I enjoyed the movie. I see how they brought out Rosealie more then they really did in the book. I wasn't sure how I feel about Jasper's character because in the book he was stand offish but they made him seem a bit bug eyed to me. I took my 19 year old daughter and my 12 year old daughter which they have both read the book and they now want the movie on dvd when it comes out. We love Stephanie Meyer.

I loved this movie. I absolutly loved it! It didn't have some details and the sparkle seen wasn't too impressive but it was so worth it! Everything else was amazing! and the connection the two have is impecable! They better make New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn!!

The movie was really good and the actors were perfect. But there was to much emphasis on the bad vampires which were a very small part of the book. The reason we all love the book so much is the love story and that was virtually glossed right over. By adding parts about the bad vampires that weren't in the book things that were important and relevent to a series were left out. The movie stands on it's own but for those of us who read the series of books and fell in love it just wasn't the same story.

This movie was very close to the book my sister and I read the book before the movie came out and took my 11 yr old god daughter who hadn't read the book we all LOVED LOVED LOVED it she is now reading the book the movie was a little rushed because of the time frame and it did leave out some great details about the supporting characters that were in the book so they could focus on the love story all in all it was a great transfer from book to movie I am just such a huge fan I wanted more I will definitely see it a few more times I'm plannig on taking my 7 yr old next we all can't wait for all the other movies

I've read all four books and have read through the third book twice. The movie was great, of course there were some things missed but overall a great production. Of course we all must consider tweny-five pages of feelings and thoughts can be summed up into one scene without words so we can't jump to accuse they left us with no information.
Highly recommended!!!!!

I have read alot of the reviews and I do agree with most. The movie is good, but I would only recommend my friends to view this movie after it comes out on DVD. I was a bit disappointed with the love story development - like everyone has mentioned, this was rushed and alot of important meaningful diologue was missing. I really didn't get the same feelings or emotions that I felt while reading the book. I thought the director & writers who did "Wall-e" did a better job of depicting a love story. I actually cried at one part of this animated flick. This "Twilight" movie seemed a bit long and wanting....

i thought this movie was amazingg but i was a bit disappointed in some areas.
well edward looked like a creeper for some of the movie.
edward in the sun was not that beautifully sparkly.
random tree scene. there was no 'hey lets climb trees on vampires backs' scene.
BUT I LOVED IT.
and will prob see it atleast 2 more times.
