I saw the midnight show and was so disappointed!! Words can not even describe the lameness. It was a total let down. There was no passion between Bella and Edward! The book was so intimate and intense and the movie did not have any of that. Very few things held true to the book. The few snippets that were actually from the book seemed out of context. To be fair to the actors, I don't believe it's their fault. The director seems to be clueless! The upside was that James is gorgeous and shirtless at one point.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I think it was a great movie, however I didn't like how fast it went. I think the movie could have been longer, so more of the details of their relationship could have been expressed. Overall I thought it was great and I hope they do the rest of the books. Maybe for the next ones make it a little longer and more detailed. I also think that people should read the book before hand to get the full effect.

I went to see the 12:01am showing last night. I thought that the movie was very well done. Was it as good as the book? No, but no movie ever will be...you can't cram an entire book into a 2 hour movie. Stephenie Meyer's books are amazing! We laughed, cheered, cried...it was great!

this movie was soo good. but like others are saying you have to read the book before you do so. though they do move on fast from scene to sceen you still enjoy it. i would have loved to see more of edward spending time with Bella in her room at night. i think Alice was such a great actor as well as Bella &Edward. though i didnt like who played Esme that much because i had seen her in Grey's Anatomy. either way you're sure to enjoy this movie.

Though it is different from the novel, TWILIGHT was an amazing experience. The actors all performed amazingly, and I loved every second of it! I loved it. The action scenes were AMAZING! Everyone should see this movie!

The script was corny/cheesy and had the entire theatre laughing at inappropriate times on a "did he really just say that?" thought.
Kristen Stewart was wooden but when she was emotional it was like somebody just flicked a switch, it was so fast and intense. It usually seemed unfounded. Robert Pattinson was great with what they gave him. The rest of the Cullens did well. James was great, his parts were perhaps the most believable. Jacob and Billy were also good.
The story moved too fast and they cut key plot points that will be important if they end up making more
I had recommended the book Twilight to well over 10 people and i won't do the same for this movie. In fact, i will do just the opposite.

I really liked the movie. As most movies based on a book, it wasn't as detailed or good as the book. There were a couple of scenes added that were not in the book that I didn't think the movie needed. But overall, I thought the movie was good and we will definitely buy it when it comes out on DVD. My daughter hopes to see the movie at least one more time at the theaters. I would recommend seeing the movie at the theaters.

Disappointed. Every beautiful moment in book was overdone/hokey in movie.When Edward shimmers in the sunlight, don’t have it make a sound! Edward in the book is funny,dazzling.Their relationship is supposed to be endearing,intense, teasing,with an element of fear. Poor choice of director,editing was a rough draft,sound effects a joke. The line-delivery was even poor for the majority of the movie. Find a director who truly understands the story. Don't make scenes overly dramatic when they are supposed to be subtle. Forget special effects; they don't climb trees in the book so don't in the film.Basic changes should have been implemented if you want anyone to take your movie seriously. Stephenie Meyer creates a realistic world, movie doesn’t.

I knew from previous experience with books that become movies that the movie version is always much worse. Despite my already low standards I was still appalled by this movie. The direction was absolutely atrocious, Kristen Stewart could not act to save her life, and the romance and intrigue felt forced. What happened to Jacob? I felt bad for the actor for being forced to play such a stupid meaningless character. Any depth that the character had was completely wiped away with this screenplay.
I do not mean to say the movie was all bad. As I did laugh a few times, and most of the minor characters shined through. Just that when I left the theater I had this null feeling of, "That was it?"

It was cute, funny, and good.. but after reading the book I felt like the movie was a let down. Too much was left out.. The movie skipped around too much.. I feel that if it was longer than 2 hours it might have been better because more details would have been put in.
BY THE WAY! Edward and Bella never even said "I love you" ONCE in this movie! In the book they did many times.. That upset me.

It is impossible to fit the whole book into a movie. They did an excellent job working with what they had. I am even more addicted! ;) It is definitely a movie for the fans, although my brother, who had never read the books, really loved it. Let's get this moive to $150mil, so that they make more!! Hopefully, the action will be better the second time around; it was not very life like.

I thought it was a great movie! I was ready for some corniness when it came to special effects but to be honest it didn't bother me one bit. I understand where some critics don't like it but if you don't read the book then that is why you didn't like it. There were jokes and things in the movie for people who are fans of the saga. I can only hope to see the rest of the novels on the big screen. To see what i have been reading is great the movies can only get better with a bigger budget!

Okay so I've read the Twilight Series MANY times. I love it so much. I knew that I would love the movie too, but honestly I was a little nervous. I first saw the movie at the premiere on Monday and then again at the midnight showing Thursday night. It was incredible. The book truly came to life on screen. No it wasn't exactly like the book, but it was great. It did go a little fast, but it's a movie people, not the novel. They couldn't make a 6 hour movie, although I would totally watch it. All in all, I love the movie and you don't have to have read the book to enjoy it. The baseball scene is my absolute favorite. I'm going to see it again today and tomorrow, 20 times is my goal! Heck yes.

I was truly anticipating a good show; however, that notation was quickly dissolved in the first five minutes. Aside from the character names & locations, most of the plot was entirely new/drastically changed.
I attended the Midnight show and felt ready to go home before one hour had even passed. The movie contents were made up of the following: sub-par acting, a less-than-appealing Edward Cullen, a painfully dull Bella Swan, a lack of interaction with the beloved vampire family, and finally, a overly-passionate kiss that would have led to Bella's death in the book (had it actually taken place). This movie is meant for pre-teens who’ll be too distracted by Edward's fluffy hair, that the lackluster dialogue will be the least of concerns.

Twilight was everything I wanted and more. For an avid fan of the series, I am not disappointed. I would recommend this movie to anyone. Mothers, daughters, sons, dads, even. It can just appeal to anyone. It's got a little bit of everything. It was dramatic, comedic, horrifying at times. It did stray from the book in certain areas, but this is a movie. Movies need a visual appeal to the audience. Books work differently. I trusted Catherine Hardwicke, and it turned out great. Go see it if you haven't already! I promise you, you won't be disappointed!

I think the best things about the film were the facts that it stayed pretty close to the book and the soundtrack was amazing, however the acting was mediocre, the makeup was horrid and the dialogue was forced. "Bella" didn't look like she was in love, she looked like she wanted to eat "Edward's" face, and Jasper looked like someone had shocked him with a taser. HE NEVER BLINKED. I had the experience but that's really all I can say for it.

I read all the twilight books so I enjoyed the movie. If you have not read the books, I think the movie will be confusing. Everything was sped through so quickly that I feel it had poor character development. From reading the books I had a background knowledge of the relationships between characters so I was able to follow the movie better. All in all a good movie to see for all those twilight fans.

I agree with the necessity of having read the book to TRULY enjoy all of the intricate nods to the series that were added in, but regardless..it was a great film and highly entertaining. The time flew by, and each character is truly flawless in their role.
Kristen and Rob are brilliant in the roles and the supporting cast was believable and will not disappoint any fan of the books.

This movie rocked. I went to the midnight premier and was completely blown away. It was just how I pictured it in the book. All except the kitchen being blue and not yellow, but you know it was greatness.
The actors put on a great show. I couldn't see anyone else doing their parts.
Great job cast and crew!

I was actually pretty disappointed with the movie. I feel that if you haven't read the book than it would have been better. I am a huge fan of the book series and was really looking forward to seeing the movie. The first part moved way to fast. Edwards and Bella's relationship development was key to the story line and I feel like too much of it was cut out.
That being said, I did think the characters were very well cast. Emmit was great! And Alice, Carlisle, and Esme were also excellent. Even though it wasn't as god as I wanted it to be, I will still recommend it to friends. I think I might have to see it again and look at it as just a movie and not the movie of one of my favorite books.

I really went in to the movie with no expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. I was a little worried about the cast for Bella but she was amazing. Edward was perfect! Robert Pattinson made the movie. He was a great Edward getting all the emotions right and still be beautiful.
It was more funny then I thought it would be...I really enjoyed myself and felt the Catherine Hardwicke's filming style really worked for the film.
I found myself wanting to watch it again and I plan on it.

Well, i am not a fan of kristen stewart and was worried that the cast was going to be terrible. however i was pleasantly surprised to see only a few ridiculously terrible acting moments, one by James one by Bella.
