I knew from previous experience with books that become movies that the movie version is always much worse. Despite my already low standards I was still appalled by this movie. The direction was absolutely atrocious, Kristen Stewart could not act to save her life, and the romance and intrigue felt forced. What happened to Jacob? I felt bad for the actor for being forced to play such a stupid meaningless character. Any depth that the character had was completely wiped away with this screenplay. I do not mean to say the movie was all bad. As I did laugh a few times, and most of the minor characters shined through. Just that when I left the theater I had this null feeling of, "That was it?"
