I was very disappointed in the movie. This is a movie that if you haven't read the book you might like it, but you wont always understand all of it. Having read the book I was very dissapointed in how little it actually covered from the book. I felt the only characters they actually portraid according to the book were Rosalie and Edward. Bella was portraid as the book described but I feel the actress did her no justice. There were also a lot of detail left out.

Loved the books, but this movie was beyond TERRIBLE. The only thing this movie had going for it was Edward's character. He was gorgeous but I could've acted better than the actress playing Bella. Carlisle and Rosalie were ugly (when they're supposed to be GORGEOUS) and had inadequate acting abilities as well.
Whoever was the makeup artist for the cast should be banned from the movie business because I could SEE the white powder on the vampire faces.
Supercheesy, reminded me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer only worse, as a matter of fact, his movie would have been better had it been on the Sci-Fi channel!

Before I went into the movie, I prepped myself knowing that the movie will probably not be as the book, but to see it as Twilight the movie, not Twilight the book made into a movie. I loved how they incorporated book quotes into the movie and how although some things were changed, it kept the same meaning as the books illustrated. Although there are some cheezy scenes, the book is cheezy. The special effects are kind of silly but there not too bad. All in all, I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who has read the books. It may be hard to follow if you haven't. The casting was awesome for the movie and hopefully they will be able to make the next few books to finish up the series!

I think that the main problem with Twilight is that if you haven't read the book the romance between Edward and Bella seems competely rushed and makes both of them seem quite irrational for their love, in all the wrong ways. However, if you have read the book and are a fan of Stephenie Meyer's saga you will find the movie to be true to the text and the characters to be well acted. Obviously the funds for this particular film were not extensive and it shows in the special effects and other aspects of production, but hopefully with the next film they will have a bigger budget and be able to accomplish more of what they seem to have wanted.

I read the first book back at the end of summer and quickly moved on to the other ones. I was anxious at first to see the movie but it was sooooooo thrilling. The actors who portray the characters were absolutely on target. Bella and Edward especially. I cannot wait for the next one to come out.

I loved that movie. Seriously, amazing! I agree with the other reviewer that you should probably go and read the book first before seeing the movie. But it won't be difficult to understand without reading the book. Robert Pattinson looked great. Kristen Stewart delivered a very believable performance. Basically - There is not an ounce of disappoint in me.
P.S. Please don't go "ew" at Jacob ;.; Everyone did at my theater! *Team Switzerland*

I came in thinking Kristen Stewart would be terrible and Rob P would be fantastic. Too bad the reverse happened. Rob needs some acting lessons, not to mention a dialect coach. The movie only started to get interesting when the villains entered the picture. They stole the show. Overall, a terrible disappointment.

This was an awesome movie!!! They followed the book pretty well. The action scenes were great and the fight scene was the best! Robert Pattinson pulled off Edward pretty well. I can't wait until they make more!

Great cast! Kristin Stewart played Bella to perfection and Rob was the perfect self-loathing, gorgeous vampire. If you read the series you will find a lot of funny moments in the film. I took my boyfriend to it and he thought it was good so it is not a total chick flick. I loved it! It is a must see!

After being so excited and reading the entire series twice before the movie came out, I came out of the theater very disappointed. For me, it was if there wasn't any continunity between the characters and that they were trying to hard. I didn't feel that Edward and Bella had the same spark in the movie that they had in the book. There were a few good parts, but it was nothing like I expected. I was hoping it was one of those movies that I wanted to watch several times while it was still in the theater, but that is so not the case.

This movie was so great! I read all 4 books and seeing it come to live made my entire day! For those who have not read the books I do recommend that you read them. There will be sections were you will not understand. Furthermore this film for being 2 hrs and 30 mins gave a good showing of what the book was. It would have been very difficult to add 500 pages worth of writing and they did a very good job.

This movie was alright. The characters overacted a bit, and there were cheezy moments but what do you expect, ITS A VAMPIRE MOVIE. It seemed like they rushed through scenes and they kept parts of the book out, but its understandable because then you would have a ten hour movie.
However, i still enjoyed the movie and if you like the storyline in the book, you will like it in the movie as well.

Was this movie really twilight or making fun of it? It was cheesy bad acting. Did the director & actors even read or like the book? Bella her mom James Victoria Charlie the cullens were ok actors not as expected Edward didnt look right n looked like he would explode when he was mad There was more background music & jumpin around than scenes from the book. Nothin was in order; more like the director was told main points then made his own movie real fast. I hope they remake it before they come out with new moon & get new actors, a new director & go by the book & have Stephanie Meyer help w it. People were laughing during the whole movie like it was a comedy. Definitely a disappointment :'(...

My friend and I tried to go into this movie with low expectations, because we're huge fans of the books and didn't wanna be disappointed if the movie wasn't perfect.
I do admit, there were a few scenes missing... but it's hardly noticeable, because everything in the movie did cover the book. Except I was waiting for Bella to tell Edward he dazzles her haha because I was seriously dazzled the WHOLE movie. Perfect casting.
Don't be knit-picky about this movie. You'll ruin it for yourself.
Go see this. It's the perfect base movie to kick off the rest of the series.

Seeing the film without any knowledge of the books is easy. You really dont need any prior knowledge to enjoy the movie.My daughter read all the books and wanted to see it. She said it followed the books fairly close. The acting is believable and good. The storyline is tragic, dark, funny, romantic with lots of teen angst. Also it is fast paced, as fast paced as the baseball game the vampires played in the thunderstorm. GO SEE IT!!!!!!

The Twilight movie was fantastically done for the amount of time available to show such a detailed book. Definately recommend that you have READ THE BOOK BEFORE THE MOVIE! You might get lost if you don't have an understanding of the storyline before hand. I am already planning on seeing the movie in theaters again... hopefully more than once!

Honestly I felt dissapointed after watching the film. The book is way better. I was expecting this movie to be one of my favorites of the year, but it definately is not. The story line in the film moves too fast. Although the best part of the movie was the main character of edward cullen. Every girl in the theatre was in love with him!

Overall this was a great movie. The acting was subpar at times, but it stayed very true to the book, much better than other adaptations I have seen from other books to movies. I will be seeing this movie at least 2 more times and look forward to the next installments.

the movie kept me squealing for more.. literally!! i'm the books' BiGGEST fan. sooo naturally i was insanely excited. it was fantastic! i know, they had to leave some stuff out and put new stuff in. but that's life, and it turned out very well. :) i want to see it so bad again tonight!! the midnight showing was epic. of course, nothing can beat the actual books. but it was very awesome. :)

I REALLY LOVED the movie. It was great. Although I have to say that my boyfriend and I both thought the actor casted as Edward did not do a very good job. I have read the books, so I was a little biased, but my bf hadn't and he thought the same thing. Anyway, besides that which you pretty quickly get over the movie is great. And it does not deviate from the book too much, it cuts out alot of the not needed details, but it was very well done. I was really impressed.

Wow. No words can express my fangirly joy at this moment. I thought the movie was amazing and I'm pretty happy with the book to movie transition. I was a little disappointed with the lack of other non-main characters, though (Alice and Emmett especially). And of course I have to add that all of the guys looked smokin'!

You don't have to be a teenage girl to love this movie! Another Mom and I hauled a group of 12 year old girls to the Twilight premier at midnight last night. We pre-bought tickets, arrived 2 hours early to secure our seats and it was all worth it! The entire cast did a great job of accurately portraying the charachters from the book (which is a must read). After reading the book often times movies can be disappointing. Not this one though! And the ending..... will leave you "THIRSTING" for more. Not very graphic at all and only a couple a kissing scenes.

I read Twilight for the first time a few years ago, and was sucked into it... and the same thing happened when I saw this movie! The plot moves quickly, and while it leaves out some parts from the book, it keeps the gist and theme of the book in tact. The characters are very realistic, almost exactly like how I perceived them in the books. Awesome job, overall.
