i took my daughter and a friend to the first showing at midnight. i have not read the book., but thought the movie was well done. i did have to ask questions a couple of times, but knew enough of the story from my daughter to keep up. i am now going to read the book, but wish i had read it before seeing the movie.

I thought the movie itsself was okay. it did a good job of summing up what the book was but if you read the book first it is a dissapointment. the actors did not do a very godo job being their characters

It was definitely a good movie. It was definitely more for the viewers who had read the novels first. If you're seeing it for the first time it is still an amazing movie. I would still suggest reading the book first so that you don't miss out on anything at all. Even though it is supposed to be a little more on the serious side, they did a good job of giving some good comic relief. I would definitely suggest watching this and can't wait to see the next one.

I really enjoyed the movie--fabulous! It kept close to the book as much as time would allow. The parts that were altered for time purposes fit well. They hit on all the major plot lines. My friends, who did not read the books, saw the movie with me and they were so excited, they wanted more Twilight. That was the same reaction I had when I read the book. Great job and I can't wait to buy it on Blueray!

I strongly advise that you read the book before watching. It will mean more to you and you'll see the parts they left out of the movie. The movie was overall great (besides the spots they left out). Probably best movie of the year. A deffinant see.

Twilight was a great movie with very expressive characters. Unfortunately, I hadn't read the book before the movie and during some scenes I felt left out because I wasn't sure what was happening. Everyone around me, however, had no problem keeping up with the story. The special effects were amazing. It was hard to tell were the actual live action left off and the special effects took over. As for graphic content it was handled very well. You knew what was happening without a lot of blood and gore.

Anytime a movie is based on a book it never seems to be as good as the actual book was. However with Twilight this wasn't the case! Sure there were some storylines a little different but all in all it was awesome! I am certain Edward & Bella's love story will go down in history as one of the greatest and the movie pulls you in & makes you feel a part of it!

This movie was really made for the fans of Twilight. You would really have to read the books to appreciate this film. I loved the acting! and the movie had it's funny parts.
Robert Pattinson was Hot as Edward Cullen. And, I kinda do agree that the transitions between scenes were a little choppy but, all in all,
the director did a good job in feeding the fantasies of every girl who went to see this movie. I loved it!
And i am pretty sure every other Twilight fan did to.

That was the best movie adaptation of a book I have ever seen. I originally had very low expectations for the movie. But I am happy to say that I was amazed, completely and utterly amazed. I got a chance to see it two days before it was released and I couldn't wait to see it again on Thursday night. The actual plot of the movie did not veer too far away from the book. They messed up some little details that close readers (like myself) would notice. It moved at a good pace. The actors did an amazing job. They really grasped the characters. I would not recommend this movie for someone who has not read the books, because you couldn’t appreciate the characters and plot as much.

As an avid fan of "Twilight," I would say that I wasn't disappointed in the movie. However, I did feel it went fast and if you didn't read the book you wouldn't care to much about it. There is a certain view you have if you read the book and then go to the movie, and for me that view was just amplified, not ruined. I felt like the Cullen family aspect was toned down quite a bit but I also understand this is only the first movie about the first book. If they continue with the franchise I see no reason why any "Twilighter" would walk away disappointed.

I think that if you don't let the flaws of what bugged you because it was different from the book, the film was actually rather good. For people who haven't read the book, they will actually know what is going on. I believe Kristen Stewart had wonderful acting. Especially starting from the baseball scene and all the way to the end. My favorite scenes was the baseball scene and the battle scene at the end(it was awesome, the actors/actress' are very talented.) Now since I'm such a huge reader and am so into the book I compared it a lot. Which was to be expected. I wasn't planning on it to be good, I wasn't getting my hopes up. But I liked it very much. A little cheesy here and there, but well played. Good job!

I would have to recomend that anyone who has read the book and then goes and sees Twilight goes in with a completly open mind! It is vital, they cannot fit 500+ pages into two hours, but they did an ok job getting the important stuff. Also i thought the movie moved too fast, the movie could of been 3 hours. I would of been ok with that, and i thought the beginning was boring without any music....
Other than that I FREAKING loved it...i want to see it again.

This of course, did not live up to the hype. It was a nice movie but not one that I would stand in a longline @ midnight to attend.
The makeup was a little surreal and a little too geisha like. I chuckled when Carlisle came out, he looked as though he just had powder thrown at him. You would of needed to read the book for all of the little nuances referred to in the movie and the ending should of had a little more dramatic build up but all in all a nice pg13 movie. I would buy the dvd.

While the movie was fun to watch with a group of friends, I was so disappointed. The chemistry was there and so was the humor. The scenes were too rushed and were very sporadic. One minute they were soaking wet, the next second they were completely dry. The editing was so-so, and the camera angles were horrible. I know Catherine was trying to make the movie "hip" but the movie strayed from the book numerous times. I'll probably go see it again just to see if it gets any better the second time. Maybe I was just so excited I couldn't take anything seriously. Also, my whole theatre was laughing the entire time. I don't think the movie was supposed to be intentionally funny the whole 2 hours. I guess I'll see if my opinion changes.

This was such a horrible rendition of the books which I just loved - it did not do it justice at all. The main actors did ok - but the rest - really sucky and the special effects really cheezy. It made me and all my friends which went to the midnight showing sad and angry.

I am absolutely obsessed with Twilight, but greatly disappointed with the movie. You don't need to read the book because it is nothing like the book. It moves to fast and skips parts of the book that are essential to the story. I am still crying how disappointed I am.

The movie was good for it's target group - teens. I thought it was pretty good. As a mom, I thought the examples of normal teenage behavior and the idea of using good self-control were refreshing. No glorification of teenage drinking/partying or sex.

Twilight ROCKED!! I don't care how cold it was waiting outside last night, 'cause the Midnight showing was WORTH IT!! I can see where many would be disappointed and ,yes , I was a little too. Twilight Book lovers are utterly horrified by how sloppily the director put togther the main plots and details. I was. But, if you don't compare it to the book and you just really look at it from a person who hasn't read the books point of view, then this movie is FLIPPIN' AWESOME!! Yeah, we screamed at the top of our lungs, laughed so hard we were choking., and sobbed so violently with tears streaming down our faces. But IT ROCKED!! You could really feel the Twilight Chemistry in the theatre. It was AMAZING!! I was absolutely "dazzled". :)

It was an AWESOME movie and stayed pretty loyal to the book. I would reccomend reading the book first to fully understand the movie. The only dissapointment was Alices character wasn't fully portrayed. I would reccomend this movie to anyone. IT WAS AMAZING!!

If you're expecting to see a movie so cinematically perfect it could rival Casablanca, you'll be disappointed. If you expect to see a romantically gothic movie geared toward the lonely hearts of females everywhere (with a slight cheesy quality) then you'll love it! Though things were changed for the movie all the important ideas and scenes were transcribed exquisitely and I thought they did a great job fitting that huge novel into only 2 hours. Go Team Edward!!!

IF you thoroughly enjoyed the book, fell in love with the characters, in other words- couldn't put it down...
DO NOT GO SEE THE MOVIE!!!
It can/probably will leave a bad taste in your mouth because the acting was less than superb and the plot was so... sketchy.

This movie was the best movie I have ever scene in my whole life. First of all because,
I am a MAJOR Twihard fan. I live for Twilight. My life is pretty much, Eat. Sleep. And Twilight. But anyways,
this movie was very good. I think Katherine Hardwick did a wonderful job in directing. Taylor Lautner did an fan-freaking-tastic job as Jacob Black. I love his acting. RobPatz did really well too. He made a perfect Edward.
I recommend this movie to EVERYONE. But I do recommend that you are at least 12 to go see it. And that you have read the book.

I thought this was prertty good for a movie made from a book. They stuck to the main ideas of Twilight. I was disappointed in the Meadow scene and wished we could have seen more of the Cullens, but they did have add some good humor.

This movie was amazing. Since I'm so critical of vampire movies I tend not to have high hopes because I am usually disappointed. From the first scene Twilight draws you in and keeps you hooked. Reading the book before hand helped since some details were passed by quickly. If you have a chance go see it!

I thought this movie was excellent. I have been a die hard fan of the books and was afraid the movie would kill the excellence of the book. The cast did an amazing job and the funny parts lightened up some of the intensity of the books. If you haven't, READ THE BOOK! There are defaintely parts that were cut from the movie that really made the story. All in all, worth the $9.50, would have been worth double that. I can't wait for the next one!!!!

Alright. Well I am a fan of the books, so I was exstatic when the movie came out. I went to the midnight showing, lots of screaming, but it was worth it. I enjoyed the movie very much I saw it again the same day. I will probably see it many times again in the theatres too. There were some weird parts for me, but they were very minor and in the end it all evened out. Especially the baseball scene. That was my all time favorite scene! I hated that it moved so fast! I understand it was because you had to fit the book into 2 hours, but still. Anyways anyone would love this movie and even if you haven't read the books you'll love it. Twilight is the best movie I've seen in all my life. C=
