Overall, I thought the movie did a really good job portaying the key points of the story. There were a few parts that were added into the movie which never happened in the book or were put at a different point in time (i.e. the overall time frame of her living in Forks, the point within the story in which certain characters are introduced, etc), and the special effects were a bit cheesy... However, overall, the movie was awesome and I will definitely be looking out for New Moon to hit theaters!!

Loved the movie! Edward was so sexy and all the characters were perfect - was up to my expectations of who they were. I thought the movie went too quickly - then again it could have been 4 hours long and I wouldn't have minded. I am going to go see it again. Do read the book - I think it would help a lot. Can't wait to see it again and again. I think each book should be made into a movie - Sequel!!

I love all the twilight books! I could not wait for this movie to come out and now that it has i've already seen it twice! Robert Pattinson did an amazing job as Edward.. It was a lower budget film and I feel that they did a great job working with what they had. You have to go into the movie knowing that they had to condence 500 pages into 2 hours soo obviously some things are going to be changed a little to fit into the time limit. It really was an amazing movie with amazing actors! EVERYONE should go see it!

I was pretty apprehensive about going to see this movie because it is my experience that when you have a book you love so much the expectations are just too high and the movie rarely holds up to them. I tried to go in with an open mind and wasn't disappointed. The action sequences that seemed silly in the trailers worked in the movie, and the filming is a bit different but helps to add to the feeling that Bella and Edward are drawn apart from the rest of the world once they find each other.
As the movie winds through to the end you wonder how they are going to wrap it up and the way that they end it leaves you breathless for more, and hoping that the opening for the second movie is around the corner!
Excellent movie!

Basically the movie did move way too fast. And I wouldn't recomend going to see it right now because you will only get a lot of obsessed teenage girls screaming and you won't be able to hear the actors. All in all it wasn't that bad for a book made into a movie, but I don't think you want to see it with this crowd.

this movie was amazing. If you read he books, you know that the movie is basically the book brought to life. There were a few changes, but it was worth it. This is definitely my favorite movie. The chemistry between the romance and the action was incredible. The characters seem to fit the book perfectly. This was amazing!

As separate entities I love Twilight the book and Twilight the movie. The movie in itself was good but it moved way too fast. I also felt that they changed pivotal moments of the story. I wish they would have read the book before writing the screenplay and followed the book exactly. I would have liked to have seen a better meadow scene, I'd also liked to have seen a little bit more sarcasm in Bella's lines.
Positives were: the onscreen chemistry between all characters was amazing. The sets were gorgeous and the action sequences were good. I loved the baseball scene! Overall, I thought all the actors/actresses did a phenomenal job embodying these characters. Can't wait for the rest!

I had read the book before I had gone to see this movie, so I understood all the subtle things that they included in the movie. The casting was wonderful *my favorite being Alice and Jasper* The movie mostly stays true to the book, and the changes that they did make were for the good. The cars were amazing. My only complaint was how they dressed Edward. Otherwise Great Movie!

I am very disappointed with this movie. The plot moved too fast & the characters were hard to relate to. There were parts where I felt that they were on the right track, but overall I don't think that the actors fully understood their characters. Also, the casting was off. Kristen Stewart was hard to relate to as Bella & they should have found better people to play Charlie, Rosalie, Jasper, Carlise, & Jacob. I don't think any of those actors lived up to their roles. The most positive thing I can say is that Robert Patinson did a pretty good job as Edward. There were a few times where he tried to show strong emotions & it came across as overacting. But overall, I think he understood his character the best.

I loved Twilight. It was like an evening out with girlfriends where the only activity needed is good conversation and laughing at a lot of inside jokes you share. There was enough action, but not too much. The actors were perfectly cast (though I had my reservations before seeing the film), and it stayed true to Meyers book. In fact I think that if you went to the movie without reading the book first, you would feel as if you walked into a group of friends with a long history together. You would know that something was supposed to be funny or meaningful, or touching, but not really quite sure why.

READ THE BOOK BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIE!!! Yes, it will be an entertaining film, but without having experienced it in its written form you won't be able to appreciate it. Having said that, I thought the film was amazing, an excellent portrayal of the book. My only complaints are 1. it moved too fast and 2. I'm not into Kristen Stewart as Bellas. Other than that, I highly recommend this film to all ages and anyone with a love for vampire romance.

The acting - good, did it stick to the storyline - better then most adaptation. However - they took way to many little quirks that made the book great out. One example is Bella always taking care of her dad - not in the movie. The movie just jumps from one part to the next and is very choppy. Had I not read the books - I would have been lost. The other major problem I had was that the theatre was full of teenagers that litterally giggled as each character was introduced and all thru the movie. Ok - giggle at funny parts but not serious ones. I may have not hated the movie so much if the audience would not have ruined it even more for me.
Thats why I say wait for the DVD

IF you read and loved the Twilight book, you will love or at least like the movie. It is true to the book, though many things that seemed sweet and charming in the book look a little cheesy on the screen. There is more humor in the film, which made it really fun, mixed with all the adventure and of course, the love story that makes it so enjoyable.

Twilight followed the book very well in a sense of wording, a lot of it was word for word from the book. My only problem was the timing on a lot of the events were completely different. It worked out well I suppose but I was confused because I really couldn't feel the love Edward and Bella had for each other the way it was portrayed in the book. It was kind of just like oh I'm in love with you out of no where. There were a lot of awkward parts and corny parts, but thats the book I guess. Some parts were absolutely perfect! I loved the baseball scene... it was amazing. Overall I really enjoyed it, I am just a bit critical of the closeness to the book (they also did take out a lot but that's understandable!)

They totally slaughtered a perfectly good story. Kristen Stewert was awful. Robert Pattison saved the scene. The script writers and director should be ashamed of themselves. Did anyone watch the movie after editing or were they so tired of dealing with it. The scenes were so fast it didn't connect the story. The scenery shots were beautiful, but they lost the essence of a buildup rommance and engaging with the Cullens. Key scenes from the book would have helped it, but obviously the director lost her creativness. If they want a better script for the "New Moon" , call me. They didn't get their money's worth from the writers and editors.

While no movie can have all the details of a book, Twilight captures the essence and does it well. And, OMG, Rob IS Edward. Sexy as hell, and just perfect. Stewart equally becomes Bella, totally convincing. Other casting is great, too. Love the soundtrack. A wonderful escape from the boring realities of life, into a world of ultimate love! Great job!!!

Twilight is an epic romance. While the movie does fall short of the book this is to be expected. The anticipation for romance scenes doesn’t follow the book. So the early romance was lost but a world wind Love kindled in minutes that people can see from the beginning of the film. Over all the characters were cast well, I am quite pleased with there choices. They seem to have chemistry on and off set and this is portrayed in the film. I think that movie is what anyone could expect on the budget they were on and that they stay true to the spine of the book. Most of us will continue to read Twilight over and over again to get the romance twist but I encourage people to see the movie at least once that way the sequels have a larger budget.

I've read the Twilight series religiously, and nothing can ever live up to the books, but I thought this movie came out great. Some of the plot deviated from the text, and they added and took out some things but that was to be expected. My only criticism is some of the lines that are meant to be conversational and even said in a joking manner within the book are, in the movie, said really seriously and intense which makes them sound a bit cheesy (like the whole you're my brand of heroin line). Other than that, and a few other minor annoyances, everything was spot on. I particularly enjoyed the artistic feel the movie took on, and all the human characters were great. Summit deserves a pat on the back, and I can't wait for New Moon.

The movie really was great and did a good job of not leaving out any pivotal/crucial moments and/or scenes. I do feel it was rushed and maybe added too much that wasn't in the book, but I definitely think you get more out of the movie by having read the book first. So I suggest going out and getting it (whiich is soo addicting you can't put it down, so take the time to do it) plus having faces and voices to go with the book is an extra plus. They did a perfect job in chosing the characters and of course especially with Edward, who is the essence and quintessential beauty and is reason enough to see the movie like a thousand times. SO go see it and tell your friends as well!! Can't wait for the sequels!

I really enjoyed the movie! Yes it was low budget and yes the theater was packed with tweenage and teenage girls. But the movie was a must see for fans of the books. Some scenes were out of sequence from the book and lots of plot was cut and a few things were added but mostly the main storylines were kept. The actor who played James did an amazing job as did the rest of the actors in the cast. As a huge fan of the books I look forward to the next 3 movies :)

With or without reading this book, you'll be extremely disappointed by this movie. It lacks crucial elements that ties the movie together, and the actors lack the necessary chemistry to make this movie what made the books a phenomenon. It didn't match the book at all and left out some of the most dynamic scenes. The cinematography was extremely poorly done, and the overall feel of the movie was cheap. Even with the budget they had, they could have done better if they were to have stuck to Meyers's original vision.
Even if you think Edward is the sexiest being alive, you won't like Twilight the movie.

As for any book series turned movie- one who hasn't read any of the books, will not completely understand the great jokes & undertones of the movie but will get the overall picture. However, if you have read all the books (or at least the first one so far), you'll appreciate the effort put into the movie. Of course, for the latter, like myself, a lot has been skipped in order to attract the nonliterary.
I'd recommend it for all, no matter what age. It's not a chick flick. My own boyfriend went on his own will and thoroughly enjoyed it! :)

Don't worry if you haven't read the book. The movie is very straight forward. It is fast paced, so you have to pay attention to keep up. The music was amazing and visuals were so beautiful. I thought the first 30 minutes were kind of cheesy, but it gets sooo good towards the end. Even my friend, who I had to drag to the theatre with me, who also has NOT read the books (crazy I know!) was glued to the screen.
Best scene is the baseball sequence!
Absolutely, It is worth the money to go see it! It's only been out for 24 hours and I've already seen it twice!

im a HUGE fan of the TWILIGHT saga, i love all books. my expectations for this movie werent too high, since movies are never as good as the books. The acting sucked, and the movie was changed completly, scences were out of place, and so was the dialogue. i was dissapointed by the movie and thought it was a complete waste of money. id personally recommend you to watch the movie when it comes out on TV, DO NOT PAY FOR IT.

For those of you who loved the book the movie may disappoint you. The movie is good in it self but the book is better if you love description. All in all Robert manages to make vampire look sexy and the intensity between robert and kristen is really shown on the screen.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
