This movie was definitely written for tweens, and people older than 17 might find it a bit nauseating. The script was a bit melodramatic. If you have a crush on the actors by all means go...their 12 foot high faces are most of the movie. Some of the action scenes were cool. Overall, would recommend seeing the cheaper matinee or renting it when it's on video.

Look I am sure everyone would like a drop dead georgous main actor but it all boils down to the acting and I have to say from my point of view the actor who played Edward I cant see anyone else playing it after watching the movie...also For a Book to Movie conversion This is far by the best I have seen, yes alot gets taken out but they pretty much keep to the gist of the book....I for one was not dissappointed and have fallen in love with the Movie!!!!!!!

I had really high expectations for this movie and they weren't met. I've always been an avid Team Edward girl, ater this movie I'm questioning that, Talyor did a much better job playing Jacob than Rob did playing Edward.
I thought the movie was lacking A LOT. I get there's a lot of stuff they couldn't put in there but, the meadow scene was hardly up to par, nothing was mentioned about Carlisle's past (or Alice's for that matter).
We also hardly got to know any of the Cullens, even though they were played spectacularly.

Stephenie Meyer should be proud! The cast were all picked so well for each part! Aside from the movie moving very fast...I thought it was well done! It was funny, and moving and thrilling. I'm a 39 year old Mom who absolutely loved it!

i was happy when i gotted 2 sees this movie. Mike was pretty completely hilarious he rules all...besides edward and bella :) some of the beginning parts went to fast so it seemed slow but the end was AMAZING!!!!!!! totally worth it. going to see it again another 300 million times. YAY!!!!!!!!

Rob tried to look thirsty but looked ready to vomit & crazy not smooth sarcastic & obsessed with her safety Edward wouldnt take clumsy Bella up a huge tree or to a field for baseball if he KNEW KILLERS were in Forks Kristen isnt vunerable soulful or intuitive just indifferent & unimpressed not deep soulful Bella we fell in love with. Jasper is just freaky Edward Scissorhands with a overactive appetite! Where are the Cullens skills? They screw up wasting time on boat/bus scenes instead of character building! Blacks Charlie Emmett Esme Carlisle Alice are ok school kids are funny. I hope it makes enough $$ for a REAL New Moon. Go support the Saga continuing not to see this book being brought to life, it didn't happen :(

I was kind of dissapointed when i watched this.
I read the books, and i think if someone watches it who didn't read the book wouldn't really understand. For example, bella falls in love so quicky in the movie, and you don't know why, but the book is so detailed and you see EXACTLY why she falls in love. Each scene went by so quicky, and i felt it shouldn't be that way. They could have made it a lot better. But i still liked it, and still love the books :)

I have never seen a movie stick to its book so wonderfully before, even though it was just a fraction away from doing Mrs. Meyers works justic. There were some point int the movie that weren't as climatic as they should of been but Major Props to the baseball scene I wanted to watch that for two hours if I could have... If there wasn't a book and someone had just come up with this screenplay I would say it was a little choppy and may have been harder to understand. Then again hot guys made up for this big time. Overall it was great and I'm going to see it again at least three more times, but I'm just a twilight junky.

This movie had so much potential, but the film lacked so much of the magic the book possessed. The CGI graphics were cheesy, make-up was overdone. Bottom line, the story just didn't flow. It was disappointing at the lack of emotion and character development. The chemistry between Bella (Kristen Stewart) and hottie Edward (Robert Pattinson) definitely had the awkward elements of a human girl/vampire boy love affair. You could feel the love! Catherine Hardwicke's angles and close-ups were uncomfortable and the spinning camera, dizzy.
Overall, it was a good film, but people who didn't read the book would be so confused. The movie in my head was better than the one on screen.

Great movie but I felt that Edwards character was a bit on the frankinstien side. He just seemed too weird to have ever fit in among humans that long. In the book he is a much nicer and at ease character. The movie itself was great and I look forward to the next one!

The movie was awesome but as so many movies do they leave out things that are explained and important in the book. If you haven't read the 1st book in the Twilight Saga do so before going to see the movie. I do wish there was more screen time with James because he is so delicious to look at. I really liked the way it ended setting up for the next 2 movies! Rob Pattinson did a perfect job on getting Edward Cullen right...his hair is what makes him Edward! This is a go see...actually this is a go see more than once...I am going again today!!!

Different from the book but accurate enough. Rob is excellent as Edward.
A very good movie overall, the Cullens are as hot as the book describes them.
It all moves pretty fast, but then, it makes sense when you have to get such a long book into a 2 hour movie.

Definitely not a great movie but I enjoyed it very much anyway. The first part, moved really slowly and the acting was stilted. I laughed at several of scenes that were not supposed to be funny, like they turned my beloved book into a comedy!
Then it got better, more action, more plot development. Overall, it's very true to the book. Kristen Stewart has the perfect facial expressions and is spot on as Bella. Rob Pattinson who plays Edward seemed to play the role too tortured. But he was good too and everyone I went to the movie with is in love with him now - he is totally dreamy in the movie although some of his acting is laughable. But we forgave him!
Overall, everyone who went really liked it and enjoyed themselves alot.

This movie is okay for the younger crowd but for adults its way to corny. The books were great and as always the movie does not live up to the book. They rushed the movie though so much of the scenes I got a headache. They changed some of the same stuff like she has a laptop computer and a cell phone. I don't think she had that stuff in the book. Jasper looks really horrible! Okay so in my opinion wait for it to come out on DVD.

Robert Pattinson was the best actor in the movie...obviously what he did to get prepare for the role worked. The movie did skip over a few parts (Alice's backrgound and James' part in it) but the book also moved forward a few months between her first encounter with Edward and the trip to Port Angeles. Great movie, would see it again. The looks Edward gave made you want to be Bella. He's got talent. I've only read Twilgiht, but have already ordered the others!

Well first off I would like to say it was a good movie and everyone needs to see it at least once, but there were some parts that could be confusing to people that haven't read the books. Also I have to say that I feel that some scenes in the movie went by way to fast like the meadow part they just showed them laying down anyone agree it should have been longer?Also where did the "Bella fainted" part in Biology go, cause that was my favorite part and I got mad when they deleted that scene. But I can't complain much they didn't have a lot to work with. So overall it was a good movie!

I really wanted to see this movie, so against my better judgement I went to see it at 10pm Friday night. The movie itself (as with most adaptations) pales in comparison to the book. However, it had a lot to do with the fact that the conditions of my viewing experience weren't that great. Everytime Rob Pattinson spoke or showed his face on screen, young women in the very crowded audience screamed, cheered, and swooned. The first few times it was funny, but by the tenth time (about half way through the movie) it was irritating. Beat the crowd, go when it's been in theatres for a while.

Couldnt have asked for more. It wasnt anything like the book in some spots and others were right off the pages.

If you have read the whole series you realize this was a great start to the phenomenon that is Bella and Edward. The only complaints I have with the movie is that things seemed a little rushed...especially the relationship with Bella and Edward...and the special effects with the vampires seemed fake and humorous. But overall it was great, and just as I imagined. Most of the characters are perfect for the roles, with the exception of Esme.

The movie is BASED on the Twilight series, so for those who think it will be EXACTLY like the books, think again or else when you watch the movie, you will be disappointed. while it DOES grasp the basics, it does miss out on a lot of the "detailing" that stephenie did in the books. overall, the movie was GREAT...although i think that the movie went by way to quickly, but then again it would be impossible to fit an entire book in just 2 hours. the movie had lots of funny parts! that was what i loved about it the most. the baseball scene was awesome, and i think the actors did a great job. In my opinion the book was definitely better, but the movie was still awesome and I definitely recommend it.

The whole point of a movie derived from a book series is to explain the story without having to read the book and still keep the Plot and storyline alive while changing a few details. If you did not read the book "Twilight", such as myself, you will not be able to understand a single scene. The storyline was completely unclear and vague, and even by the end of the film, I had no clue what was going on. In addition, even the comedial parts were not fully explained, leaving the viewer to fill in all of the details. Each scene with the vampires' "superpowers" were neither breath-taking nor realistic. Not recommended.

Sure, everyone says that the book is never better than the movie, and I understand that, but Twilight was done unprofessionally. First off, the soundtrack was really bad, when the theme was supposed to be catchy and dangerous, they put a song that is slow and happy? Edward was supposed to act frustrated at the beginning but all I got from him was smilies. Also some of the script was plain awful too, they could have used more quotes from the book, and It was very funny how Kirsten acts overlydramatic and stutters with every word when she's trying to act scared. Overall, I think I laughed more at the movie than I probably should have. But I have to admit that some parts in the movie were really cute, which is why I gave it a 3/5.

Saw Twilight yesterday with my 13 year old daughter who insisted I read the series too. It was well done, love the closeups of Edward and Bella. I agree with another reviewer who said that if you have not read the book, there are things in the movie that you will not get. Can't wait for the next one to come out!!
