The movie was very good. For people who did not read the book will be unable to understand the deeply forbidden love between Edward and Bella though. Reading the book first would be helpful. But overall the movie did a good job in going along with the book as much as possible. It is great, everyone need to go watch it, I cant wait to watch it again. Rob was utterly cute.

The movie was very good. However, having read the book, makes it easier to appreciate and understand the small details. Also, you can't go into this movie expecting to see everything that was in the books. Its not possible. It can seem rushed, but its basically the same effect as reading the book in 2 hours. You get all the highlights, and less details. But I think this is a great stepping stone for the next movies. Also, I believe they will have a much bigger budget to work with next time. The movie was done great, and the actors will grow into their roles more and more with each movie.

The book offers up so much more dialogue, and really conveys the internal struggles Bella and Edward face with much more detail. The intensity of Edwards gaze - and the reluctance or inability of Bella to meet it makes it on screen, but the kiss is much, MUCH better in the book. If the movie whets your appetite, the books will truly have you hooked. The story and characters grow more with every book, let's hope the movies will too. Go team Edward!

Sorry 2 say, it’s an utter n complete waste of my time n money. After reading the books so long ago n having the images made up for myself I believe the film did little justice to the book, plot wise. They did get Key plot lines in the story; they missed 2 many side notes 2 make the movie seem close enough 2 the book. My personal pivs, Alice didn't have much a role, Jasper doesn't have his powers, how Bella tells Ed he’s a vampire, gettin 2 the meadow, how he looks in sunlight (Hairy Chest, Glued Glitter Man!). Also, Ed saying "um"… can any1 vouch 4 him saying that at all in the books? He came off d"um"b. They added/took a lot of things out, but I’d say n hope they do better with New Moon. The 1st was a good try but practice makes perfect.

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. If you're 12 then maybe you'll like it, but if you at least have the IQ of an ape then this movie will bore you to tears.

This was an OUTSTANDING movie! We saw it at the midnight showing and both wanted to go back again the next day to see it again. My husband read the book and I was in the process before we went, and were both astounded to see how on par the movie is with the book. Of course, some things have to be changed for length, but it was just incredible! I was glued to the edge of my seat for the entire two hours! Not necessarily a movie for the kids, but a sensational film. I can't wait to start the next book, and hopefully there will be another movie very soon!

I'm a big fan of books you see and I tend to read the book version of a movie before seeing the actual movie. But because I do this I'm always disapointed with how the movie comes out. It's just always so different than how I would first imagine it. This time it was different. The cast, the setting, and just about everything else fit into the story perfectly! It was just how I imagined it not to mention that Edward Cullen was to fall in love with. I absolutly loved the movie and I would recomened to people of all ages.

My family has basically all read the TWILIGHT books and we were all very pleased with the style and technique of Stephenie Meyer's writings as well as her vivid characters. When going to the movie on Friday, November 21 it was amazing to see everyone dressed in their TWILIGHT attire with all the screaming fans when the Cullens and Jacob made their entrance into the movie! Personally, I think Catherine did an amazing job with the movie. She really took hold of the book. Of course things were cut out, but all necessities were there. I think all together-you would love the movie!

So I started reading the Twilight series when my 13 year old asked for the book. I thought it was going to be some silly teen fiction book but after the first chapter, I was compelled! I read all four books in the series within a week and a half and have been anxiously awaiting the movie premiere. To my surprise, the movie was really great! There were some parts that didn't exactly flow with the book and the movie did skip a lot of parts but overall it was excellent. I think that the characters were portrayed as well as they could have been and I was extremely glad I had read the book prior to seeing the movie. I can't wait until "New Moon" comes out!

Although I am a HUGE fan of the Twilight books, the movie was just as I figured... a slight let down. The book portrays the characters so well that it's almost impossible to do the same in a movie. Don't get me wrong, the movie was fantastic, but they rushed the beginning (where you really fall in love with Bella and Edward) to get to the fight scene towards the end.

I was pleased with how the movie was translated from the book. I would highly recommend reading the book. There are so many great connections that a made in the book and missed in the movie like what is going on inside Bella's head, history of each of the characters etc. I am pleased with the selection of characters. They are perfect with the descriptions in the book. I am almost finished the 3rd book so it was hard to have the story end in Twlight when it is really only the beginning of the story. Can't wait for the next movie, keep the casting the same.

I have to be honest and say that I was a little bit disappointed.
I didn't like the special effects..
(Sparkling Edward!)
and they went too fast from one thing to another.
You definitely have to read the book first in order to understand it.
I thought the actors did a great job.
Alice, Rosalie, Edward and the bad vamps were great.
Oh god and I was cracking up at Jasper's face expression.....he does look sick!
I hope the second one has better and more professional effects.

I am a 48 year old mother of a 14 year old. We loved these books. We saw the movie together. My daughter loved it!! I did not walk out of the theatre disappointed. This is definitely a young teen movie. I don't understand the comments of the critics. The movie was as we expected, we both enjoyed it. We would definitely watch again and look forward to the next!!

I love the books and really tried to come into the movie with an open mind....I thought overall the movie was great...but they rushed through some key points!!! The first half was very much a disappointed....but after Edward(rob) was back, the movie got so much better!!!!!!!!! This was probably the best movie I have seen, ever. Ok so there were some parts where the acting was over the top (the biology lab) but other than that it was wonderful. Deffinatly read the book before viewing the movie. You will pick up on alot of things that you otherwise wouldn't have. I saw this movie twice in one day and I plan to go back and watch it again about a billion more times. I don't usually ever think there is a movie worth paying for, but this one I would pay twenty bucks a ticket to see. To all those who feel that "oh its a vampire movie", yeah it is a vampire movie but there is so much more to it. It shows us that love can last through even the worst of times and will always win.

I absolutely loved Twilight. It is one of the best vampire movies that i have seen. I am hoping to see the second part soon. I can not wait to go and see it again with all my friends. I am a huge fan of the book, but think the movie was horrible. It looked like a low budget, B-movie, with poor acting that was really trying to use lines from the book. However, the best lines from the book came across cheesy and not at all as they were intended. The character development was bad and there were a number of things about the movie that you would never understand unless you have read the book. My personal recommendation is to read the books over and over they are head and shoulders above the movie.

I thought the movie was very well done. Definitely read the book first because some things were left out that I thought were important. My daughter loved the books and the movie as well. Robert Pattinson was terrific as Edward. Kristen Stewart was terrific as Bella as well. The whole cast was chosen with perfection they all fit there roles. I can't wait for New Moon to come out.

Ok, Yes the movie was good if you are a mother of a Twilighter. If you yourself are a Twilighter...to you I say You Will Love This Movie. Perfectly geared to the tween to teen set, the movie showcases all of the books characters to perfection. What the movie lacks in special effects and dialogue it makes up for with teenage angst, love and humor.
In a packed movie theater filled with 10 to 18 year old girls the movie went over like gang-busters.

The movie was very good. I would recommend reading the book first. However, the screaming girls in the theater were awful. They would squeal every time Edward came on the screen, and EVERY time he said a line exactly from the book. They even sqealed when they pull up to his house. Parents, teach your kids its cute to be excited, but the characters can't hear your squeal. It disrupts other movie-goers. The best advice, go to a showing where the kid factor will be less.

The book to screen genre has been really hard for directors, as the expectations from the readers is so high. So i went into Twilight with little to no expecation of silver screen greatness. i was surprised! I really enjoyed it. Yes some of the CGI stuff was corny, but with the movie budget they had , what do you expect? I'd see it again, as the director, writers, and actors did a great job. I will give you all fair warning...be prepared for the tweens and teenagers to be screaming, clapping, swooning throughout the film. but other than that it's great. enjoy!

It was an okay movie, all in all. I know its not supposed to be exactly like the book. The makeup looked kind of fake at times. But except for that it was a pretty awesome movie. I LOVED the fight scene.

The first installation in the Twilight movies was pretty good. Robert plays an excellent Edward, it helps that he's totally gorgeous. Kristen Stewart is not one of my favorite actresses, she's not very believable as Bella. Everything else about it was amazing and totally entertaining. Be ready to wait in a LOOONG line at the theater.

Most books-turned-movies disappoint me because they leave out key things or side-plots. "Twilight" did not do this! Of course it didn't go into details like the book, but it did not leave anything out. There was the perfect amount of awkward tension between Edward and Bella, and I thought they did a good job casting the characters. Go see the movie! It needs to gross 150 million to allow them to film the next one!
