The chemistry between Edward and Bella was right on with the book. I felt like the movie went too fast leaving out a lot of pertinent details and adding some things that weren't in the book and weren't really necessary for the story. Over all I loved the movie and will probably see it again in the theatres and I'll definitely buy it when it comes out on DVD. It's a fantastic love story. Thank you Stephenie Meyer for creating such a wonderful series - can't wait for the other three movies! :)

I have read all 4 books to the Twilight series, this was yet the best movie I have seen. Stephenie has done wonders with the right actors and actresses to fit the parts of this movie. They fit to a T. Kristen and Robert are wonderful with each other on screen. I am do wrapped up in the characters it is wonderful. Love the ending to where it will lead into New Moon. Keep up all the good work Stephenie.

Reading the book first helps a lot, and definitely builds the excitement to see the movie! I was very impressed with Twilight, and anticipating the next movie - New Moon. The characters are a perfect fit. Amazing!!

Twilight is a book and a movie that have changed my life! I highly recommend them. Robert Pattison, aka EDWARD CULLEN!, is extremely enchanting and was the perfect pick for the role. If you like romantic novels on film definitely go see the movie! Hopefully it will change your life forever too!
p.s. Everytime I see a volvo I scream and try to see if Edward Cullen is driving it! I'm in love with a fictional character! lol

The first time I saw the movie (midnight showing-packed) I thought it was pretty bad. But, I decided to go and see it again, alone. I went to a showing that only had about 25 in the theatre ( 2:20pm showing) and found that it was 100% better the second time around. Not sure why but needless to say I wound up seeing it for a third time. So if you didn't like it the first time around, go see it again. You may just change your mind.

This was a great movie!!!! It was worth waiting for forever to see it at midnight. It had many quotes from the book. even tho they were in different parts it still had the effect. I liked how the foreshadowed kinds wold happen in the second one. all in all....IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! The characters did an excellent job portraying the characters. I loved Emmet!!!!! he was so funny!!!! But... it was a great movie and i recomend it to anyone!!!! it makes more sense if you read the book first!!! Promise!!!!

I honestly cannot wait for the other 3 books to be made into movies. Twilight was amazing! You can't get picky on the details though. Like the Cullen house, and everything. We all have our ideas of what everything should look like. They did a great job with the entire movie, and I can't wait for it to be out on DVD so I can continue to watch it over and over!!!

I absolutely love the series and was looking forward to movie so much, that i actually felt dissappointed after i saw it. The movie itself was very good, but Edward in the movie is nothing like the Edward in the book. He's hesistant and not even close to being as eloquent and romantic as he was in the movie.
The acting is kind of mediocore and could have been improved. I also really hope that in the next movie they give special effects a bigger budget because the effects in this movie made me cringe. They were nowhere near the great effects of harry potter. This movie has great potential and i can't wait to see what comes next.

Having pretty low expectations going in, I'm happy to report it more than met them. Honestly, the most fun was hearing all the teenage girls scream when Edward is introduced; and joining the knowing nods and titters of other fans who caught some of the more nuanced things only those who read the books could appreciate.

The movie was good but I can't help but to feel disappointed. The book was way better in description and detail . I believe that Kristen Stewart was not a fit for playing Bella, the production was cheap, and the transitions through the scenes were awful. The best parts like the meadow and the baseball scence seemed to be protrayed in the book and in the trailer to be spectacular and I was simply let down. I really hope that they step it up for the next movies.

like wow i waited so long for this and it finally came.i am obssessed with this saga.i read reviews on yahoo before i went and everybody said negative things about it.but yea there were some things wrong with it but they needed to put a 500page book in 2hours think about it?So over all even with the cutouts and small things it was awesome!every actor and actress did their part good.also i remember all the screaming i did and heard.WOW i cant foget that movie im gonna go watch it again and again.And if you go see the movie withour reading the book you wont get somethings that happens so i recommend you to read it before you watch it (; twilight rocks!

I hate to say it, as much as I tried to like it, I can't say I enjoyed this movie. As a huge fan of the books I'd say this is the worst portrayal of a book since the Counte of Monte Cristo. The acting was awkward, they pushed the story along too quickly, the soundtrack, while great, didn't seem to fit the scene, the scenes with Bella and Edward together were cheesey at best, and the dialogue was...well...awkward. I like how they tried to use direct quotations in from the book but the way they forced them in was...well you know. Positives: The soundtrack is excellent and some characters did fit very well with my imagined vision of them (Alice, Charlie, Jasper oddly enough). Bottom line, ready the book. It’s cheaper and much more rewarding.

If you loved the book, you'll love the film. Girls haven't swooned so much during a film since Johnny Castle uttered the immortal line: NOBODY PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER. And now this lucky generation of girls has Edward Cullen. AND SO THE LION FELL IN LOVE WITH THE LAMB. What a great film to enjoy with the girls -- of any age.

OMG this was the best movie ever! i would highly recommend to anyone who has read the books. I say that only because the movie of course doesnt include every detail the book does..but Summit did a great job! i saw this movie 3x's in 1 day! ;) i saw it at midnight and then came back after school to see it 2 more times with my other twilight loving friends! this movie gets 2 thumbs up!!!

Oh my gosh. Its amazing! i mean yea its not the book, but it has its own kinda thing. You can be picky about whats in it or not because we knew from the start it wouldnt be exactly like the book, i mean nothing could. If i could i would go watch it everyday i totally would!!! This movie was everything I had hoped it would be. I have to admit I was nervous that the movie wouldn't live up to the book, but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes they leave some things out and yes they changed some things, but the essence of the book remained and I fell in love with Bella and Edward all over again!! They chose the actors well and the setting was breathtaking!! I think I'll see this movie at least one more time before it leaves the theater!

It was great to see the movie in the theater. I will most likely see it again. However, if you haven't read the books, as I have, I'm afraid the characters may seem underdeveloped. They fall in love, but they kind of skip over the hows. They also skip over Edwards ability to hear others thoughts. I thought they missed some realy important parts of the book. Pattinson could use some acting lessons, but he makes up for it with his excellent brooding skills and gorgeous looks. I look forward to the next movie

I didn't read the book but went with friends from work. It was a little cheesy at first but it turned into a very entertaining story. My friends debated how well it followed the book. I didn't care, of course, and had a very enjoyable evening watching a story that made sense without having any familiarity with the story beforehand. I look forward to seeing it again but will not take my husband.

i've read all 4 books and consider myself a fan. even though i had really low expectations, i came out of the theater apologizing to everyone i asked to come watch the movie. while i was watching, i was literally cringing in my seat.
there was no flow in the movie. the scene were too staggered and there wasn't any character development.
i think the all actors did a great job, considering the lack of a workable screenplay.
i also do not like catherine hardwicke as the director. scenes from the movie were good, but whoever did the editing did a very poor job.
i do want to see the whole series made into a movie, but hopefully, they will find a new writer, director and editors.

I have read all of the Twilight books and I truly love them!! I had high hopes for the movie. It did follow most of the parts of the book that are important. Some of the parts were a little different than the book was but it still was good. They added a few scenes that weren’t at all from the book. They were decently enough, that I still liked them anyway. The sad thing was that they didn’t get show how the Cullen’s (everyone of them except Edward) character developed, the wit and charm as much as the book did. Then again it, you got the jest of them though. Other then a few things I though it was a great book movie. Twilight was one of the few best books to be turn into a movie and they followed the book pretty well.

A group of us in our 30's went opening night and it was so fun when all the teenagers screamed when characters were introduced. They screamed throughout the entire movie and they errupted for the first kiss. We laughed while they screamed in delight and I am so glad to have been there to enjoy it and feel like a teenager again.

Aside from a few aesthetic problems (strange visual effects, heavy-handed make-up application in some cases, corny dialogue) the movie was very enjoyable. The plot stayed close enough to the book so as not to annoy die hard fans but strayed enough to make it a workable film. I look forward to the inevitable sequels and will most likely be seeing this again in theaters and purchasing the DVD as well.
