Excellent film. Will Smith took a role that I found to be different from his typical work and created an amazing performance.
The film is challenging in the beginning as we try to orient ourselves to the characters, their motivations, and the background that his impacted their lives. Once that gets cleared up the story is powerful with lessons for all humans.

Seven Pounds is two hours of pieces that come together at the end, but done really well. Bit of a tear jerker. It might move too slowly for those with short attention spans and clearly not suited for kids under 6. Each character provides unique interest, even if their appearance is only for a short time. I particularly appreciated that no single character was typical or fit a general image of the person most might think would fit the role. I took with me reminders of important life lessons regarding friends, family, a sense of purpose and love. Excellent movie.

I walked out of the theater and was not able to talk about the movie for a good 15 minutes. I needed the lump in my throat to go away 1st. Extremely emotional. Will Smith is an amazing actor. He hasn't let me down yet. I think he just gets that the most humanistic trait is how we interact with others. You couldn't help but feel his pain, loss, regret, guilt. Rosario Dawson pulled her own weight too. Bring tissues.

I love Will Smith and still watch the Fresh Prince of Bel Air on a regular basis. But I am learning not to go and see a movie just to see the leading actor. I didn't know anything about the movie when I went. The story was intriguing and had us feeling the emotions on the screen from the moment it started. While I don't condone what Will Smith's character does, I am a proponent of what he did to "make it right." My husband and I both loved this movie. It is an emotional roller coaster - great acting all around. We would definitely recommend it to others and we would even see it a second time.
