I guess i had high expectations for this movie, almost fell a sleep after the stupid repetitiveness. Was not scary at all, wow stuff moves and makes noise. Dont think i will lose a wink of sleep tonight. Glad i got to see it for free not worth my time watching again.

I saw this movie the other day after following the showtimes and demanding it. At first it looked kinda uniteresting until i heard reviews about it. This made me wanna see it sooo bad. So i did and it wasn't scary throughout the movie,but it was good. And it was better than i expected. Much. However the ending, from the part that she gets up, creeped me the heck out. I was sooo creeped out when i saw the ending. To be honest, i was scared to get ready for work the next morning. Overall, it was a verry good movie with a beautifully creepy ending!

This is the 2nd worst movie I have ever seen. The worst one was Blair Witch. The movies are very similar to each other. They are both done 100% with a hand held camera that is not steady at all. If I had known ahead of time I would have never gone to see this movie.

The reactions to the events that were going on...were not realistic. It was just kind of silly at times. For real, if you were watching the tape you had to confirm or to find out what was going on in your home....and something caught on fire after you left...I don't believe you would wait until that night to say "oh, by the way honey, you need to see what was on the film after we left". As soon as you saw it...it would be..."Get over here! You need to check this sh*@ out!!!" just silly stuff like that.

I agree with many here that there were major flaws in this film. It was pretty boring for the majority of the film...however, based on how thrilling the ending was, I think it was the filmmaker's purpose to numb the mind so that the scary scenes would feel more scary than if the thrill was consistent throughout. I have to confess that this did freak me out when I went to bed that night.
Be prepared to sit through some sillyness, some bore and cheese, but it's all worth it in the end.

I like that they used the Blair Witch style, but I thought it was better than Blair Witch. It was so normal in the beginning. it could be any couple. And there was nothing terribly special about either of the main characters. The fact that it's entirely possible that it could happen to literally anyone, is what makes it scary. Not the little moments that sneak up on you, and make you jump a bit, but the fact that it could happen to you. And it's applicable to believers of different religions. There's nothing saying it wasn't a fabrication of her own untapped mental psyche, and there's nothing saying she wasn't a reincarnation of a previous owner of the issue. I'm still wondering how close to the truth they kept it.

I'm a major horror and thriller lover. This movie had good acting and some tense moments, but the constant shaky camera movement and “give it away in the trailer” really disappoint. It was a great scary movie, using mostly your imagination to fulfill your fear. However, about half way through I finally had to divert my eyes to something not shaky and moving. I could only watch some of the sleep footage, as that doesn't move. The theatre was packed, so I'm not sure how many others had this issue. But be warned.

As usual, a poor remake of an 80' scary classic, with a Blair Witch twist if the filmography. The actors are the one's that saved this one from being a dump. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY was a great letdown... The trailers were more frightening than the movie. I love scary movies so I couldn't wait to check this one out. I was pretty impressed. I was worried that it was going to be one of those movies where critics say it will scare the poo out of you and then it ends up being a bore! Go see this movie! It was scary and the scarf around my neck ended up covering my eyes more times than I can count. The only disappointment: The ending. It made the movie cliche. Despite a clever marketing campaign, this movie did not live up to its rumored reputation. It was very slow and anti-climatic. I found it to be mildly scary but left you without the promised fright. Wow I read the bad review on this movie and I must be a wimp because I thought this movie was crazy scary and disturbing! Yeah it starts off kinda slow but it's a build up and a good build up. It's been 4 days since I've seen it and I still get chills just thinking or talking about it. I love scary movies, too and this is so not "hollywood." I know it's not based on true events but it's still scary...it definitely messes with your mind..well at least my mind. I tell you what, I'm never ever going to play with a Quija board or leave my feet/legs sticking out of my covers at night while I'm sleeping. I recommend this movie, perfect for Halloween but if you live alone then no, don't see it. At all. No way .

I am a horror aficionado who have seen some of the most classic horror films, from Hitchcock to Wes Craven to M. Knight Shyamalan. I have never been so disappointed than after seeing a film that had some great reviews and a high score on IMDB. This movie cannot be compared to Blair Witch Project or Exorcist. The theatrical effects were absolutely elementary, and did not take me any higher level of cognitive stress. This movie was hyped up for many unknown reasons to me. The actors were terrible, and the decision to use scenes were not comprehensible. If you are looking for a good scare, use the $9.25 ticket price and rent the following movies: stigmata, exorcist, silence of the lambs, descent, or rosemary's baby!

As an avid fan of scary movies, my husband and I couldn't wait to see this movie when we heard about it. We watched the trailer online and saw the movie the following day. Let me just say that absolutely everything that is remotely scary is shown in the trailer. The majority of the time is spent anticipating something - only to be let down. A Blair Witch wannabe but falls way short.

Maybe, if i was watching it at my house alone in the dark, I could enjoy this movie and convince myself to be scared. Overall the movie was slow while we waited to see the advertised "scary parts". There was more emphasis on comic relief than I needed but regardless, people laughed through the whole movie whether they were supposed to or not, so that hurt the film's intent. As for the ending, They could have gone further, bring on the demonologist!
Ultimately, the movie did not live up to it's HYPE of being "the scariest movie ever". If I had to describe this film as a weatherman, I would say that it was, mild with a chance of slight creepiness. See Fallen for a good demon possession movie.
