Empathy and imagination; those are the keys to this movie. If you saw the original "The Haunting" or "Blair Witch Project" and think they are boring and/or suck, then avoid this movie like the plague. If you want a beginning-to-end thrill-kill ride, ala SAW or Hostel, don't waste your money. If, however, you can identify with, and mentally change places with, the characters in this movie, and have ever been unnerved by experiences in your life when the lights go down and the darkness pervades, sit back and enjoy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
