This movie is little more than special effects & gratuitous fluff. Soundwave finally makes an appearance, but too little too late. You wonder, "if they could do this, why didn't they do it two years ago?" They did not do the characters of the original series justice. This is a Michael Bay film, not a Transformers film. The robots blend together in battle scenes. They look too similar to each other & don't show their personalities. Once again, the teenagers are the stars and the robots take the back burner. If you're not sure if you should see it, then you shouldn't. Don't waste your money, your time or your brain cells.

Language a bit vulgar for younger ears. Special effects were magnificent but some scenes were so jammed packed with action you could hardly tell what you were looking at on the screen.

i thought the movie was just as good, if not better, than the first one. it had a little bit more cussing here & there, so may not be good for young kids. & it focused more on Megan Fox's sexuality than the first one did. other than that it was great. it was really long though.

i love transformers, the movie was great, the first one was better, but this one is action-packed awesome..some things were a little off, even though it was almost 3 hours long i felt like it moved too quickly, otherwise its definitely worth it!

Whos idea was it to turn an action movie into a comedy? I thought the movie was to long and filled with bad jokes and humping dogs as well as humping robots, not to mention the duo comedy robotic team through out the whole movie.The Fight scenes were okay but they could have edited out alot of this movie and that would have made it Okay. The makers of this movie had a chance to make a great sequel but dropped the ball.

This movie was written by the mind of a frustrated 14 year-old . Most "humor" was off-color, distracting, stereotypical, border-line offensive. One caveman-like innuendo another.
Decent action sequences, a couple of hero moments and The Bay knows how to blow stuff up. It's no secret he is also a huge is a fan of the military and they are shown in good light in this installment.
CGI effects are amazing, if you like seeing robots tear each other apart, you will not be disappointed.
Let's hope in the next sequel, Bay borrows a page from The Abrams Team playbook, developing a winning formula of edgy dialogue, rapid action, human elements and great special effects. Is he does, Transformers will once again Rise...

Not that the first Transformers was great, but this was certainly not as good. Its too long, the idea of a plot was completely disregarded, and the whole movie was a setup to a very anti climatic final fight scene. Even the first movie's best asset, the special effects, seem to be rushed in this one, with little attention to detail that made the robots so compelling.

The action was great, however the dialogue was not. The humor could have been better. When the best character is Sam Witwicky's mom then you have take another look at the script. Megan Fox looked amazing and Shia LaBeouf played his part well. Josh Duhamel's character needed to be more of a hardass. I'm not sure whether to blame that on the writers or that Josh is too good looking to look tough. I do agree the film is more adult oriented. Due to the action this is one of those films you have to see in a theater.

Definately one to go see in the theatre! Enough language and sexually provocative enough to earn every year of 13 and maybe more. Action scenes and effects were excellent. Its a good movie that could have been so much better. I thought the original was better. This movie is funny and has great action. It was lacking in the story which I found difficult to follow and did not flow well throughout the movie. At times you would be like that was really cool but I don't really understand what is going on. Acting was very good and its definetly worth your money to see it on a big screen.

Thought the Movie was great but the uncalled for use of profanity made this movie very inconsistent from the first one. I wont be able to take my niece and nephew to see it due to the vulgar language and drug referances. the robot fight scenes in the movie alone are worth the price of addmission. u would think that with a larger budget this would be the best film in years based on the first. WRONG! Way to much jumping around and a stroy that can't be followed. Why do I need shots of the little family dog mounting another male dog for a laugh that the audience was luke warm to at best.
If you think it is funny to have a robot using profanity where it does not even flow with the dialogue, run don't walk to see this film!
Parents should think twice about taking young children to this film. It is not good family entertainment, at my showing some walked out or were sleeping! Bigger, louder and more effects does not make a great moive when you take away all the things that made the first one so great.

Having seen the first Transformers movie, I preferred this one. It was a little long, but filled with action and great special effects. I don't think it is appropriate for the younger kids (I saw quite a few really young kids at the theater (3 and 4 yrs old), and I also heard some crying (I am guessing some of the robots were scary to the younger children).
Thus, if you've got 3 hrs to spare, and like this type of action movie with special effects, I recommend it, but leave the toddlers at home.

An absolute blast (both figuratively as a spectator and literally as in explosive pulse pounding action in the movie)!!
More story and heart than I expected based on reviews I read prior to seeing the movie for myself. And great action and special effects.
All five of us in our group (ages 44, 40, 11, 8 and 7) loved it!
Definitely should be seen on the big screen and enjoyed for the action filled, laugh inducing, and even touching Summer blockbuster romp it is!

The movie did what it needed to do. Fans of Transformers will appreciate the action packed throughout this film. Pay attention because the story line needs you to keep up as it is is very fast paced. Special effects were amazing and it kept you interested throughout. Overall the movie was good. A few downfalls was its 2 and a half hours and a few inconsistencies with filming. One minute Megan Fox is running with heels, the next they are in her hand and the next she's got them on... Other than that, I recommend this movie to anyone who loves Transformers!

While I thought the plot in this movie was a little bit lacking compared to the first (and you see more autobots than human actors; doesn't get very in depth with the characters), it won't disappoint on the action side. It's pretty much non-stop excitement with no down time. The effects are spectacular and it's quite hilarious. Wouldn't recommend it for little kids, as there's a lot of swearing and some innuendo. Overall, I'd say definitely go see this one in the theater, don't wait for the DVD. It's so much better on the big screen!
