I went to see this movie due to the great reviews I read. I was very disappointed. This is not a movie I would take children to. The children that were there in the movie theater didn't even watch the movie because it was boring to them. The movie theme was stupid and it moved slow. Some of the jokes were cute but a bunch of the lines just didn't make any sense. Save your money and take your children to go see Astro Boy.

Fantastic Mr Fox takes a charming Roald Dahl short story and draws it out for an hour and a half by providing various back stories (Mrs. Fox's racy adolescence, the Fox's son's teen angst) plus the addition of an unimagined (by Dahl) cousin) to stretch out the action. The animation is great and the script is often very funny. Having George Cloony and Meryl Steep's American accents is fine, given that they are speaking "Fox", while the villains are speaking British. Three generations of viewers all agrteen it was worth seeing but not not nearly as memorable as "Up"

The movie had some laugh-out loud moments but long stretches of boring chat moments.
Too many language issues...cuss this, cuss that, cuss, cuss...I don't want my kids to learn bad language from watching movies.
Only the kids enjoyed the movie but for the adults it was more of a lull and alot of us fell asleep through the show.
The show rating should have been put at PG-13 for language.

Saw this film with my dad and 10 year-old sibling and it was a lot fun for us all. Characters were incredibly fun and intriguing and the voice acting was pitch perfect. George Clooney, Meryl Streep and co. really bring the characters to life. While I have never been the biggest fan of Wes Anderson's style, I believe that his offeat manner of filmmaking is perfectly suited for this film. The jokes are simple yet sophisticated, giving all audiences, regardless of age, something to laugh at. This is likely one of the best films out in theatres at the moment (and a sure-fire nominee for Best Animated Feature come Oscar time) so take the opportunity to see this film.

If you're a Wes Anderson and George Clooney fan you'll like this movie. My 6-year-old liked it a lot and wasn't bothered that it didn't follow the Dahl book closely. There were some laugh-out-loud moments.

I like Wes Anderson a lot. I like Roald Dahl a lot. The movie was better than I expected from the trailer. Not sure I'd rave about the stop motion; I think it was a stylistic choice that allowed for some additional fourth wall humor but it doesn't seem like much of an advance over the old Rankin/Bass stuff. And I think some kids may find it perplexing or scary (though my 4 yo daughter liked it). I guess go see it and decide for yourself, ha.

Clooney is charming as always. Streep and all of the actors nailed it. Animation: nailed it! It really captures the feel of the illustrations you find in Dahl's books.

i am a huge wes anderson fan so i was going to enjoy the movie no matter what, he always gives you a very smart character driven movie with picturesque cinematography, and an excellent soundtrack and he didn't disappoint here. now the movie was based on a ronald dahl book, which i have not read, so im not sure how accurate it was to the original but either way i thoroughly enjoyed this movie. it had everything i could have ever wanted, action, suspense, drama, and comedy. now i wouldn't recommend it for small kids so use your discretion. its definitely PG, there is some mischief and violence but its done in a looney toons style thats fun for adults and kids. and the stop animation is enjoyable all in itself.

Will delight kids from 6 to 96. Whimsical and charming. The details in this film are wondrous. Each character's tiny costume is carefully stitched, buttoned, tailored. Anderson completely fills each frame........the eye can't take it all in on a first viewing so repeat viewings will be rewarding and revelatory. It must have taken millions of man hours to make this film, which has a pleasingly handmade, artisanal look. It's more human than the computer-fabricated Pixar features. It may be the best stop action animation full length feature ever. Rivalry between the son and the nephew will engage children. Theme of evil destructive businessmen against ingenious animals is highly relevant in an age in which man is laying waste to the planet.
