Best edit of an HP movie I've seen. This movie didn't feel like it was jumping around at all. And once the action started going, it really didn't let up. I highly recommend any HP fan to go see this movie. It was well worth the money and time.

The movie was great; it closely followed the book, which is nice for the ones who have actually read the series, but perhaps more challenging for those who have not. Awesome flick and can't wait for the next one! Warning: the movie is a bit long, and perhaps a bit frightening, for young children, so it may be advisable to leave those at least under age 10 at home! (It is rated PG-13)

I have read all of the books, so basing my opinion on that AND knowing that JK Rowling gives the final say in the movie scripts..I believe that this movie was amazing.
It was scary, a little comical, and sad. I literally cried during the movie just like I did when I read the book. There were some stuff that was in the book that wasn't in the movie, but when it comes out on dvd I am sure that it will be in deleted scenes like all the other movies. I also agree that where they ended it was amazing! It was the perfect place!

I am a huge Harry Potter fan and have read all the books multiple times. I think they made the right choice in doing two movies for the last book. They did a great job in picking a good point to cut it in half. Of course there are things missing because it's a huge book but I think they hit all the major items and of course, the acting and effects were wonderful!

Splitting the last book into two movies seems to be an excellent cinematic call. Of all the Harry Potters this one seems to have the most cinematic appeal. The story was slightly less fast moving, the decisions as to what to cut and keep seemed more based on providing a good, consistent story rather than an attempt to ensure that everyone's "favorite" scenes get included. This left room for slightly more character development, artistic interpretation and some quieter scenes. Love the ending!

the movie was okay.....I don't know why but I didn't enjoy it as much as I have the others. The actors did a good job, but the directors interpretation of a few of the scene's could have been a lot better.
I do look forward to the final movie in the spring.

I considered this movie to follow the books the best. I think it might be because they've opted to split it into two movies so they can fit in more of the details. I was not disappointed at all! I love how they can get the seriousness into the movie as well as a laugh here and there. Of course there are some of the details missing, but overall I think they hit the main points. The cast did another amazing job, and I love how they kept Dobby the house elf in this movie, especially since he's been cut out of some of the the other movies. So, go see the movie...it really is incredible!

Excellent movie. Was interested in seeing how they would incorporate all the info in the book to a movie. I know they had to leave out some things but overall an excellent rendition of the book. What's not to love about Harry Potter.

This movie was great because there was not one boring part in the movie. It had you on edge the whole time. I read part of the last book but didnt get to finish the other part and i thought it was a greeat adaptaion of it so far. I also like the fact that there are still the same cast and they have great chemistry. I cant wait for the last movie because the books are great.

Of course the movie cannot encompass all the details of the book, but no book fan should go into a cinema expecting that! Overall, the movie was very exciting and the kids I brought with me left saying "I want to see the second one NOW!". *(Going into it, I was a little worried about the long stretches of tent sleeping in the book.)
I was suprised at the humorous parts in the movie because (sorry, UK) movies like the English Patient had me convinced that British humor was lacking.
Also, Harry really likes to take off his shirt a lot. By the way, clearly no airbrushing, waxing or spray tans were in the mix for harry Harry.

I absolutely loved this film. You really get to understand the relationship that Harry, Hermione, and Ron have.
While I do agree that some of the deaths of a few characters get brushed aside, there are other things that are just simply outstanding. And, you have to remember that they can't keep everything the same as the book.
It's a really good movie.

The last 3 or maybe even 4 harry potter movies have really just blended together, average acting combined with fast plot transitions and a very poor explanation of any backstory or certain events that happen during the movie leave you spending more time trying to figure out what is going on than enjoying the movie. If you are paying lot's of money to watch an 8 part movie epic though should have adapted it to the screen instead of expecting people to read the books prior.

I really enjoyed the latest Harry Potter movie. It had a completely different feel then the previous 6 movies in the series taking on a much more serious tone and focusing much more on character development then on action or gimmicks and stayed pretty true to the books (my 11 year olds criterion for a good HP movie). I do feel like they dragged parts of the movie out to allow them to get 2 movies out of Deathly Hallows but still a good movie and really looking forward to the final movie next year.

Good movie. DON'T bring your 8-year old, or at least, I'm not bringing mine. Two scenes are two horrible or scary and most of the rest is psychological development or despairing.
Book is intense and dark, and I thought the movie pretty faithfully covered the main bits. I agree with the people who have said that Hedwig, esp. wasn't nearly as important a loss to Harry in the movie, but the sense of loss had already been established in other ways. I also agree the dancing scene wasn't well done.
Leaves you in a pretty dark place at the very end. Definitely plan on chocolate afterwards

I was so fussy about Daniel Radcliffe's acting in previous movies, but he's really gotten better at it for this one! Everyone was phenomenal, and I cannot wait for the last installment, in the summer!
The musical score is fabulous, too. Alexandre Desplat really fits in well with the previous HP composers!
Absolutely marvelous! 10 out of 10, a perfect rating for a PERFECT movie!

Right from the start, this movie just grabbed me. I feel that they did a very good job of covering all that the book had to say, despite having to trim and rearrange due to time constraints. Cannot wait for Part 2!

Even though the atmosphere of the movie is dark it is still a great movie! The quest/tale of harry and friends in this movie is my favorite out of all the harry potter movies. My favorite scene in the movie is the one where the woman in the cemetery transforms into the snake

This director blended well elements of charm and magic with newfound adulthood and change of scenery, which was well shot and chosen. This semifinal Potter film really captured the essence of the book best as possible without disappointing hardcore fans and certainly was equally entertaining for both kids and adults.

I am a reader! so yep, read the Harry Potters. Thus far Part 1 has been more true to the book that all the others! I really enjoyed it. Could have been a bit more emotional, (I love Doby). Time flew by, Good Casting for newer parts to the screen. Good flow! Worth the midnight trip for me! Left me looking forward for Part 2.

Yes, I agree with some people they did cut sometings out & changed a couple of things around, but in their defense there is a lot of info to cover from the book. I think they did an exceptional job doing what they needed to do. I've already seen it twice & would not mind seeing it again. I don't think anyone will be disappointed in seeing this movie. For the little ones some parts might be intense for them but overall I think they will be fine.

It's harry potter, I can't not like it. But i feel like all the scenes occur too fast and rushed. When Mad-Eye dies, no one mourns. Hedwig died like
she was just a bird flying around.
Dobby's death was the only one that the movie took time to show sorrow for. There were so many details that were changed from the book for no reason. The "7 Potter" plan was give in up by Hedwig, they were caught by snatchers by coincidence before the Malfoy Manor scene, etc...
Overall it follows the book for the most part, so i appreciate that but, some scenes were odd and awkward (Harry and Hermoine dancing, wtf??)

I laughed, I screamed, I cried. I loved it. It can stand on its own (with the other movies) AND it is great for the book readers. Though the book is always better, the HP movies have progressed in their awesomeness!

They followed the book pretty well on this one. Some people commented that it was slow, well the first half of the book was pretty slow. All in all I'm up for at least three more viewings.
