Yes, I agree with some people they did cut sometings out & changed a couple of things around, but in their defense there is a lot of info to cover from the book. I think they did an exceptional job doing what they needed to do. I've already seen it twice & would not mind seeing it again. I don't think anyone will be disappointed in seeing this movie. For the little ones some parts might be intense for them but overall I think they will be fine.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Overall I think the movie was good. The only problem I had was there was some stuff left out that will help transition into the next movie. If you have not read the books then the next movies might leave you with questions that should of been answered in this one. Other than that I would recommend it to friends & family.
