Being a mom of grown age kids and they started me on the Harry Potter Series, I can say I have seen every Harry Potter Movie on the First day and they all have been excellent experiences; this one was a little slow in the beginning but well worth the wait and price and i rarely go to the movies because of the price.
The graphics were amazing, a most enjoyable experience. I wanted it to keep on going when Voldemort found the Elder Wand. I am too sad it is about to come to an end.
Every one Young and Old should have the Harry Potter experience.

This 7th installment (Part 1) of Harry Potter was definitely worth the wait! This film encapsulated the heart & soul of this book. Harry, Ron & Hermione were terrific in capturing the angst of trying to figure out how to find & destroy the horcuxes, while still holding on to each other. There were surprises & jump-in-your-seat moments, along with the romantic aspect written in the book. I felt this movie was the best in the franchise since the 1st movie (which will always have a special place in my heart). Run to your nearest theater & experience the best movie of the year so far!

Well needless to say I can't wait until Part II comes out. I will say that I did like this one the best of them all and I felt much closer to the characters. Some fun moments, some darker moments and sad ones too.

For anyone who loves Harry Potter and has read the books, this movie will satisfy your expectations for this long-awaited last film. Yates was really creative and I thought he did a great job!! Follows the book perfectly. I wish we didn't have to wait another 9 months to see the end, but they did a good job of splitting it up!! ENJOY!!

I hoped the last film would be the best and I wasn't disappointed. They did a fantastic job following the book. I think the device they used to explain the Beetle and Bard was outstanding. Umbridge was fantastic, you just wanted to reach out and punch that little smug face.
Best Potter film to date, can't wait til July.
Too bad they can't go back and redo Order of the Phoenix

This is definitely the best in the series. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I thought it kept to the book pretty well. It has a great ending to keep the audience hyped for the next/last movie in July.

Being a huge fan of the HP book series, I am always eager for the next movie installation and buy every DVD. I enjoy them but am constantly annoyed by unnecessary add-ins and deletions. This movie was by far the most accurate and well-done version. My husband even said he couldn't take his eyes off the screen and wants to see it in the theater for the second time. That only ever happened once before, with Avatar!

Harry Potter was FANTASTIC!!!!!! It has everything you need: romance, comedy, tension, drama, creepiness, and sadness. What more can you say?? The trio has grown up so much and their emotions come out and it makes you feel like you're there experiencing everything from the many troubles that they're involved in. This is one of the best Harry Potter Film of all time!!!! I would really recommend to everyone!! CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SECOND PART TO COME OUT ON JULY!!!

This movie was basically a build up for part 2. It was a good movie and time did pass by quickly.
It was NOT completely true to the book but did flowed OK. In my opinion, a couple of things from the book which were kind of skip over quickly in movie would have made the movie much better without adding a great deal of time (4-5 minutes or less) to the movie (disappointing scenes).
Both this movie and the last relied on you to read the book.

Before this movie, Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite in the series. I now have a new favorite. Where earlier movies have failed because they left out (or changed) key plot points, this one was on target. I'm very glad they decided to split this into two parts. There was so much in the book, it would have been impossible to put it all into one movie.

I really enjoyed watching this movie. I'm actually glad that they decided to do it in two parts. I'm happy to see that much of what was great in the book was incorporated into the movie. (Of course, they could have done without the "embellishments" from Ron's confrontation with Voldemort's locket, but that's only one of the few minor quibbles I had.) All in all, a fantastic adaptation of the first part of Deathly Hallows. I can't wait for the last part to come out now.

With a few obvious detours (one of which they actually acknoledge in the script concerning polyjuice potion), I give them a B+ for thier rendering of some very difficult scenes from the book. The movie overall seems a bit slow at times, but then again, so was the book.They managed to effectivly display the characters frustrations and to draw the slow time down to a minimum.
Remember guys, this is the first half of the plot, and by where they stopped, I cant wait for part 2... It is going to be a hang on to your seat kinda ending.
One thing I did note is that they seemed to get away from the special effects for thier own sake kinda stuff some of the other movies had (we are in a recession after all) but then again, they may be saving it for part 2.
A final note... They did ok splitting the book. There is a relativly complete story line and an ending that will make you sit up.... I will say however that it is fairly obvious that something is missing. You will not be (too) dissapointed.

Really glad I didn't see that snake in 3D. And not sure I liked the "Bourne" type shaky camera in the chase scenes. But overall another terrific Harry Potter installment!

Absolutely fantastic! While the general opinion is that "the book is always better than the movie," I actually felt much more emotional during this than during the book. It was very faithful to the book, and yet altered some scenes in ways that made them even better than I had imagined in the book. Very mature, creepy, and artistic movie. One warning however: If you haven't read the book, you may not understand the plot very well. Keep in mind that this is only half of a 5 hour movie, so don't be disappointed by the anticlimactic ending.

Can you guess what I thought of the movie? MMHMM, that's right, FANTASTIC! I thought it was very well done, nothing was too over the top nor was anything understated. I was on the edge of my seat, and I even had a few good scares. The time flew by, it didn't seem like 2 and a half hours at all! I definitely think most Potter fans will be pleased! I'm definitely seeing it again this weekend! Well done Mr. Yates!

Wow! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 was AMAZING- a must see for sure! The movie theater audience I was a part of laughed, gasped, applauded (several times), and even cried together. It was the perfect set up for Part 2- I can't wait!
