Being a huge fan of the HP book series, I am always eager for the next movie installation and buy every DVD. I enjoy them but am constantly annoyed by unnecessary add-ins and deletions. This movie was by far the most accurate and well-done version. My husband even said he couldn't take his eyes off the screen and wants to see it in the theater for the second time. That only ever happened once before, with Avatar!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

My husband and I loved the original and were very much looking forward to seeing this. It was too long and the action blurred by so fast it made me feel car sick. I don't think Sam Worthington has reached his potential because he used his native Aussie accent which was very distracting and he can't emote worth a darn. I've told my friends to not bother going to see this; wait til it's out on DVD if they really want to check it out.
Let's face it, the movies are never as good as the books, and those books are addictive. Having said that, it was a very entertaining film, technically better than the first film, but not as emotionally moving or moody. I could, however, feel Bella's pain and angst during the breakup scene and they made her ensuing depression quite evident. Unfortunately, they didn't represent either hers or Edward's confusion and anguish at all during their reconciliation, so that was very disappointing and I felt it left Edward's character incredibly flat. They also didn't show her true attachment to Jacob when leaving for Italy. I think that the writers really should consult fans on their ideas for story continuity and importance.
